I had to buy it before my freshman year started. I'm now a sophomore. I had absolutely no use for it until this year. They straight up tell you that you will fall behind with a PC because they flat out won't teach it before you start your freshman year.

Jobu prevails over white pitchers who try to defeat Cubans. Don't drink Jobu's liquor.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Anyone else think we'll be back in a tie for 1st after tomorrow night? Jobu says yes. Take fear from bats.

Y2HH, I wasn't being a smartass, but you're being a dick. I already had a PC so I could have dropped $300 on video software and been done with it. But because everything is done on Macs they word it into saying you need to buy one. So jump off if Apple's jock for a moment becaude I'm being fairly genuine in my argument that took you 100 to posts to understand.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 12:53 PM) No, I still don't have a clue what you're saying. Are you saying you could have gotten a similarly specced pc for 100$? You aren't making much sense here. No, I'm saying that I could have bought a $600 PC that would have satisfied every single need I have for school other then using Final Cut. I don't understand why this is so difficult.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 12:47 PM) I'm just speaking for myself here, but that Rally Crede thing is the dumbest f***ing thing I've seen here.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) I have no idea what you're talking about here... Are you saying you spent an additional 1500$ on Final Cut and Garage Band? That's called purchasing software. You then said: The extra money was getting the Mac to be able to use them? What does that even mean? Getting the Mac to use them? It doesn't cost anything extra to "get a mac to use software"...you're merely purchasing the software, whether it be Final Cut or Adobe's alternatives...graphics and video software is expensive regardless of who you buy it from, for the Mac or the PC. If you want a good example of jamming awesome technology into a shoddily designed box, look no further than the Droid Razr Maxx. Designed like a monstrous piece of s***, full of energy sucking chips simply because they're "new" but immature...and covered up with a massive 3300mah battery in order to make it look like it has great battery life... At least Samsung understands that big can still be beautiful -- and efficient -- look at the SIII, for example. FinalCut and GarageBand together cost me $100. Ok? They are the only two programs I use that I couldn't use a PC for. Right? FinalCut being the only one required for class. GarageBand was included on the Mac. But the price I paid for a MacBook was about $1500 more then I needed for a PC that would have been just as fine. So I spent $1500 on FinalCut basically. Get what I'm saying now?

f*** the Royals and f*** Detroit. And Minnesota. f*** them too. And Cleveland. And LeBron. And Wade.

Problem of the day: Readings for an exam I just took got sent to my spam box on Tuesday. They are literally the only readings I haven't done and I've probably done more then anyone else in that class, yet I am so, so f***ed right now. f*** Detroit.

In my defense, I did say that I'm in it until the magic number hits 0. Basically I'm saying I can't be disappointed with this year considering the expectations.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 02:27 AM) God Bless your non-pirating heart The joke was that seeing as GarageBand was included and Final Cut only set me back $100 (student discounts are awesome), they are the two programs I use that I couldn't use a PC for, so that extra $1500 was getting the Mac to be able to use them. f*** spending $1500 on two pieces of software.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 01:46 AM) In your case, where you were required to buy one, I'd totally understand. But for the average person looking for a laptop (AKA glorified typewriter for porn and viral videos), I don't know why you'd bother to spend the money on a Macbook unless you care a lot about aesthetics or the brand name. Asus and Samsung make equally good and equally good looking laptops (even thinner than the Macbook Air) and they usually sell them for less (since retailers actually put these Laptops on sale, unlike Macbooks). Any extra money you're paying is for Mac OS (and whatever bundled software you might need) and the Apple brand name. I dropped my old Samsung back in April (again, f***ing seizures) and it had a dent. It ended up overheating a lot and running REALLY REALLY hot but was still bearable due to it's plastic case. That being said, I loved my Samsung. Then it just got to the point where video editing and video games would turn it off. Samsung and Toshiba are my favorite PC makers. My new Toshiba Satellite is awesome. And so are the Harmon/kardon speakers.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 01:24 AM) How exactly is it a waste of a few hundred bucks. Is that the case for everyone who buys one. I spent $1500 extra dollars for GarageBand and Final Cut Pro X in all honesty.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 10:54 PM) EQ2 has to be one of the worst business decisions ever. I stopped playing EQI with an epic weapon druid to start over in EQII? That didnt last long, I wasnt going to grind a new character again and I wasnt going to play a lower version game. The smart move would have been to allow people to port characters over. I had twinks with sweet ass gear, I just stopped playing one day and never went back. I do enjoy that GW2 gives you rewards for your GW1 characters achievements. It even reserves your character names. But seriously, on the topic of MMOs, GW2 is fun as hell. All of the classes play fundamentally different, which I never really saw before in MMOs that I played, including WoW. It was always just different skills and weapons defended on how far away you could hit something.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 12:39 AM) There's your typical Apple user these days. I was in a gen-ed class the other day. I sat in the back and in front of me...I saw a sea of Macbooks. At least 50% of the class had laptops open and at least 75% were Macs. I think the "it just works" motto is more like "it looks really really nice and it's expensive". I had to buy one for the Journalism school. I feel like I go undercover the second I whip out my PC it's like Armageddon.

You know what? We're down a game. Oh well. The Tigers were down a game forever, it's not insurmountable. Hell, remember 2008? But who expected us to be here back in March? The Tigers were supposed to be winning 100 games while our boys were supposed to lose 100. Kenny was supposed to have a s***ty swan song. Ozzie was going to lead the Marlins to the promised land with our ace. But Sale came. Quintana came. Dunn, Rios, and Peavy have a personal Comeback Player of the Year bet. Konerko was on fire. AJ had a career year and said "f*** you roids" while doing it. De Aza is a legit lead off. Viciedo shows signs of a great future. Reed has been shaky but gotten the job done. We got Youk, Myers, and Liriano for what amounts to Eduardo Escobar and Zach Stewart. Robin's given the team fresh life this year. This year that we were supposed to suffer through that would begin to make us look like the Astros. So all I gotta say is no matter the outcome, this year was better then what I expected. s***, when I was going through heavy depression in April, May, and June (seizure meds man, those things can f*** you up) this team was all I had going positive in my life. So f*** the outcome, f*** the standings, and f*** Detroit because their city is s***. This year was better than I expected and I experienced more joy and euphoria along the way then I could have dreamed after 2011. All that being said, I ain't stopping until the Magic Number hits 0 for better or worse. Because f*** Detroit. f*** them and their freak pitcher and their fat hitting f***s who should have collapsed into black holes by now. And f*** Minnesota while we're at.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 03:30 AM) Ozzie on the radio? OMFG that'd be awful. Ozzie broadcasting for the Sox period would be awful. Wouldn't be able to understand him, he'd be fired for swearing really quickly, and all four current broadcasters would hate working with him. And Greg just called Buehrle a bad baseball player in his efforts to absolve Ozzie of all blame.
