QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 02:27 AM) Please let him join the booth for 30 games or so. Have 3 in the booth. I bet Hawk would be uncomfortable though with Oz The more I think of it, Ozzie truly is dumb as a fox. This Loria and his entourage of relatives has to be irritating to Ozzie, who doesn't suck up to management. He's still an icon in Chicago and likely could get a media job in Chicago. I bet the Sox broadcast team would add him in some capacity unless Jerry feels like Ozzie has betrayed him in comments since he left. The longer Ozzie is away from Chicago, the less popular he'll be. It could be time to get fired in Miami, get all that free money and come to Chicago to broadcast in some capacity. Even a talk show. Somebody will hire Ozzie in the media in Chicago ... right? Ozzie wouldn't get hired in Chicago media and definitely not by the Sox, not for ten, fifteen years.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 01:47 AM) My back is all fudged up from my time in the Army and memory foam mattresses do wonders for it honestly. I have a king sized foam mattress with a nice pillow top and it feels like I'm sleeping on the Stay Puft Marshmallow man's penis. Also, amazon has great deals on mattresses. Ive seen king sized memory foam mattresses on sale for $390 with free shipping.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) Way out Midwest there was this fella... fella I wanna tell ya about. Fella by the name of Adam Dunn. At least that was the handle his loving parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. Mr. Dunn, he called himself "The Dude". Now, "Dude" - that's a name no one would self-apply where I come from. But then there was a lot about the Dude that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And a lot about where he lived, likewise. But then again, maybe that's why I found the place so darned interestin'. They call Chicago the "Windy City." I didn't find it to be that, exactly. But I'll allow there are some nice folks there. 'Course I can't say I've seen London, and I ain't never been to France. And I ain't never seen no queen in her damned undies, so the feller says. But I'll tell you what - after seeing Chicago, and this here story I'm about to unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as you'd see in any of them other places. And in English, too. So I can die with a smile on my face, without feelin' like the good Lord gypped me. Now this here story I'm about to unfold took place back in 2012 - just about the time of our conflict with Miggy, Prince and the Tigers. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? But sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's the Dude, in Chicago. And even if he's a lazy man - and the Dude was most certainly that. Quite possibly the laziest in Cook County, which would place him high in the runnin' for laziest worldwide. But sometimes there's a man, sometimes, there's a man. Aw. I lost my train of thought here. But... aw, hell. I've done introduced him enough. Adam f***ing Dunn Forgot to give you props for this.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) Those memory foam beds are pretty badass though. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) Those temperpedic matresses that are supposed to be good for 10 years are really nice. They have them in different styles, too, firm and softer. If you go in the store, the salespeople seem to know what they are talking about and can fit your needs. My back was bothering me and I got one of those and the back discomfort was gone immediately. It was pretty expensive but has worked out great. Both of these time 1000. I switched from my old one at home, which wasn't too hot, to the dorm bed which destroyed my back. When my parents and I found out it'd be more to move my bed/furniture to Columbia, we just bought new furniture. The memory foam mattress has helped my back 1000 times over. My neck as well. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) Yeah, but ew. This. Seriously.

Wait, what happened? This started as school dance and has turned into PB&J vs. the State. SOLUTION: REPLACE PB&J WITH MARSHMALLOW FLUFF & JELLY. EVERYONE WINS! KIDS GET SWEETS, ADULTS ARE MORE LIKED, DENTISTS GET MORE APPOINTMENTS!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 02:07 PM) Get in line. Did he quote me? I see he said to apologize for a post, but I've blocked him so I have no way of telling if I'm meant to apologize or if he apologized or something else.

My friend showed me a poll today where most of America is still picking the Tigers. Adam Dunn said "kiss my ass" in response.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) I wouldn't non-tender Humber. I understand why you would if you do, but I think he can be traded, albeit for much less than you would have gotten last year (and you probably wouldn't have gotten a ton last year). But you find some guy around 25-29 who needs a change of scenery and is going to make about the same amount as Humber and you have a potential match. Or you trade him for a guy who A-ball who can throw 97 but doesn't know where it's going. The Sox have had good luck developing pitchers like that, so you have a potential match there too. He's too cheap to just flat out get rid of, even though he won't be back with the Sox next year. I regret believing in Phil solely because we could have gotten a horde for him last year.
-
Wow. This is playing on worse for Oz then last year did. And with a much less forgiving fanbase/owner.

Humber is exactly why I'm worried about Quintana. Also, man, I miss 2011/April 9 2012 Phil Humber

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 03:15 AM) http://news.yahoo.com/libyans-storm-militi...-225317193.html Sometimes you have to believe. You have to believe that if you do right by people, that they will do right by you. There will always be setbacks when you are on the side of good, but that is why we sacrifice, in the hope that our lives will mean something, that at the end of the day we can say that we have made a meaningful change for the better. Mr. Genius, you are way off on this one. Lets just assume Obama did apologize, so what? If his apology saved 1 American life, then who cares? you have to look inside and ask, is it more important to be a jackass tough guy, or is it more important to try and change the world? When you know you are the top dog, you dont need to prove it, you can be magnanimous because you hope that others will follow your lead. Obama may not know what is going on, but he knows a million times more than the guys you support, and isnt that all that matters? I cant even respect people who cant acknowledge that anymore. If you want to be a joke meme troll, that is fine, but some of us actually care. And its pathetic to insinuate that Obama did something wrong here, and we both know it. It will not be 476 Rome on my watch. Ever since this post it's been like watching Mr. Genius flop like a fish on land.

Greg, you repeatedly said Ozzie was manager of the year.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) I thought I read the president was gonna get the ax. Not the son in law but some other guy that Ozzie feuded with. From what I read, Oz was safe and some other guy was the scapegoat for now.

Hahn to become GM, Williams promoted to Vp of Bball Ops?
Quin replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 05:30 PM) Part of me thinks Hahn wouldn't take the promotion if he wasn't fully given the keys to the car. Why would he stick around when he's supposedly one of the top GM candidates in baseball, only to have Kenny pulling the strings for the big stuff like free agency and trades? Kenny is still going to have a huge say. We'll still see "HOLY s*** WHERE DID THAT COME FROM!?" moves in the Peavy mold. -
What shall we call VP Kenny Williams and GM Rick Hahn

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Yep. It's a cosmetic change anyway, no need for new nicknames. GarPax disagrees
