QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) I would have rather seen that versus the other penalties. Under this format, they still get to fill their football stadium. This.

QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) How in the hell does Oakland always wind up leading the league in pitching almost every year when they trade away their starters every off-season? I'd have to imagine their spacious foul territory helps, but jeez... That stadium.

f*** the Twins!

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) Lots of good pieces out there. Marlins selling Cubs selling. Sox said to want Greinke. Kenny's done a great job getting the Red Sox and Astro's to eat salary. Does he continue to go that route ? There's plenty of suitor for the high end guys with better prospects and willing to eat more money. My prediction is the Sox reacquire Buerhle and hope they can get the Marlins to eat the last year of the contract, This would make the fan base pretty happy and he's had success in the AL as opposed to wondering what you might get from an NL pitcher who pitches in a pitcher friendly park. As much as the Sox are said to want Greinke I can't see the Sox getting a rental after all the moves they've made to trim salary and the trades they've made so far not to take on salary. Buehrle +Johnson or Greinke

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 06:52 AM) It isnt reconsidered, it is in the works. I believe Ruffalo signed a 5-6 movie deal with Marvel. Edit: It is 6 So was Sebastian Stan (Bucky), but for Hulk it probably means solo movie.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) That is a personal opinion that never affects how the business runs or operates, especially as it pertains to homosexuals. I just find it hilarious the double standard. "Treat people equally unless you don't believe what I believe and then it's ok for me to treat you unequally." Didn't he say God would punish those with the audacity to define marriage? Looks like it happened.

Now that this thread exists, he'll light it up.

Floyd for prospect. Prospect, Humber, one of the young BP arms (Jones?), Mitchell, and a low level prospect for Johnson and Buehrle. I'm 90% kidding, but I'd the Marlins took that, I'd die laughing.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) 100 percent agree. I would not like to be stuck with that contract when the salary starts to go up significantly. I think the Marlins would trade him for a bag of balls if we would take his salary though. Which we better not. I'm alone in this, but I do this if it helps them win this year.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) I think this is kinda bulls***. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/bre...,0,929023.story So they support one definition of marriage. There's been zero evidence that the store, or its employees, discriminate in anyway. Well, that's what happens when you have a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that you have the audacity to define what marriage is about.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:18 AM) Why would they want to move him? They want to win and he is a valuable piece to winning. They want to move some of the bums it appears. You're joking right? Sanchez was one of their better starters for the past few years. Infante was an all-star second basemen who's having a respectable year. Hanley Ramirez could very well be their best player in franchise history (him or Beckett). And they don't value winning. Never have, never will. They value $$$.
-
Well, if the Marlins throw in any money for those last two years, they'd save money overall. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:52 AM) I would absolutely love getting MB56 back. I get goose bumps thinking about his return to the Cell in the race to the playoffs. That 18.5 million salary would be excessive for the last 2 years of his contract, but that means the Sox should be able to get him without giving up anyone from this years team or too much damage from the farm. Unless KW can get Buehrle for like, the most insignificant prospect ever, and thinks it puts them over the top this year. Then maybe you consider that contract (overall, it's not as bad, just those last two years look terrible).
-
Well...Sanchez, Infante, and Ramirez are gone. Think we could get in on Johnson or Buehrle? Maybe we flip Floyd for a prospect, send that prospect to Marlins for Buehrle. But they throw in cash for the last two years and we throw in a low level 'spect of our own or a BP arm (not Reed)?
-
I'd take Buehrle if the Marlins throw in cash. Also, man, Oz is gonna have a bunch of rookies soon. Uh oh.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 11:50 PM) Hulk will be eased out of the film. If crowds hadn't adored Mark Ruffalo, I could see that. But Mark Ruffalo has them reconsidering a Hulk solo film and is one of Marvel's big guns. I see Hawkeye being phased out before Hulk.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) Omer Asik @AsikOmer Thank You Chicago for having me in your city for 2 years! So grateful for the opportunity and the great fans and support. I will miss you. Goodbye Omie We hardly knew ye... We are going to miss his defense and rebounding before all is said and done, mark it down. Quote me. Ok, quoted you. Yeah, we'll miss his defense and rebounding, but he's not worth $15M.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) If all of these possible charecters who are mentioned to be in the movies, I have a hard time believing that Marvel would actually put 24 super heroes in 1 movie. That would be enormously crowded for one movie. All those heroes will be in the movies listed. I just basically said they'll have a roster of twenty five to pick from for Avengers 2.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 22, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) he's a tool and i hate him as a person and a player. won't root for him to do well, but as a GM, and from a purely baseball perspective, KW made a good move. This.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) Interesting theories. Wow u are bad to the bone. Just kidding. That's serious stuff. Glad you were safe. It was a rather scary moment. Fortunately the guy that came by was bluffing.
-
Greg, I'm guessing you've never stared down a guy who's likely packing. It's not exactly a moment where you feel in control and ready to hulk out. Even though I'm from this coddled generation, I've had that. And a gun scare at my high school. Got followed in school (without being told) by a vice principal because they were pretty sure I was going to get assaulted amidst racial tensions in the town (black superintendent stole district funds, my dad was school board pres.) But yeah, that first example was when a gang threatened to shoot up my friend's house because of s*** his brother did. I had a baseball and a few sharp rocks.
