QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 04:06 AM) Except please, no connection to JOHN CARTER. That $200 million writeoff forced Ross, the Disney studio head, to lose his job. ...John Carter has no connection to Marvel or the Civil War arc.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 04:08 AM) If you look at both of their splits, I think you'll agree that de Aza is unquestionably the better player vs. RHP, and Brent is the better player vs. LHP. That's all I'm saying. They are essentially the same player. They both have good speed, decent outfielders, with a little pop. The combination of the two of them, in a platoon situation, is much better than either one of them, alone. Regarding my "fascination' with Lillibridge; don't you think the guy has earned some playing time, after how he busted his tail last season? Have you forgotten all of the diving catches, and the 13 homers in limitted playing time? I'd try to find him some at bats vs. LHP, and a platoon with de Aza is the obvious fit. I'd rather Lillibridge just super-sub but you don't platoon one of your starters when he's earned a job. Lilli would make a great super-sub, that's it. He can play the OF, 1B, and the rest of the infield in a pinch. I'd rather he get the AB's then Escobar. But a platoon is ridiculous considering the main thing Ozzie did well last year was use Lilli in the best way possible to hide his weaknesses and maximize his strength. De Aza hit .263 last year against lefties. Lilli hit .228 against righties. Sure, maybe you sit De Aza occasionally against lefties, but a platoon is ridiculous considering how productive De Aza is being as a starter and has done nothing to have that taken from him.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 03:56 AM) Robin is doing a nice job, but he is mismanaging de Aza and Lillibridge. He has only given Brent 10 at bats, and 7 of those have been against RHP. Lillibridge demonstrated his ability to hit LHP last season, and he should be given all of de Aza's playing time against lefties. I love de Aza, but he looks lost when facing lefties. This situation just screams for a platoon. Let them share CF and leadoff. I keep saying it, but it's frustrating to watch this situation develop. It's so obvious, that it's a "no-brainer." Your infatuation with Lillibridge reminds me of some people's love affair with Jayson Nix in '09.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 03:08 AM) LOL are you crazy? Chet Lemon, Frank Thomas, Luis Aparicio, Jim Landis, Mike Hershberger, Bill Melton, Eric Soderholm, Julio Cruz, Richie Zisk, Carlton Fisk, Harold Baines, Rock Raines, Jim Essian, Tommy John, Wilbur Wood, Eddie Stanky, Oz Guillen, Gary Peters, JC Martin, One Dog, Carlos Quentin, Carlos Lee, Mark Buehrle, Carlos May, Dick Allen, how many players do you want me to list. Yeah, I'm not a Sox fan. I looked those names up on Google to troll everybody. SOX FOREVER. You're like my brother: You're a Sox fan but you REALLY f***ing love Ozzie to the point of coming off as more of an Ozzie-fan than a Sox fan. That being said, you're a Sox fan.

I really wish that Marvel could repurchase the rights to Spider-Man, X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Daredevil. Imagine a Civil War movie. THAT would be great.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU GOT YOUR GIFT YESTERDAY.

QUOTE (maki @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 02:04 AM) The Journeyman -only to be used with Don't Stop Believin playing in the background, mocking the media.' I like this, but I also like "Humberstruck" ...my bad Getupstretch, didn't see you said that above me.

So much more than last year. This team is just fun to watch, it's corny, but they "appreciate the game."
-
Knights just releasing damnation. Also, this graph reminded me of Stewarts near perfect last year. I love Coop.

I enjoy not being part of Knight's compilation up there.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) YouPhilme ? Dr. Philgood I like Dr. Philgood, or just "The Doctor" I'd go with something Jim Morris related, but Rookie of the Year would be strange.

I didn't see it (f*** you, Fox) BUT OMFG I WAS JUMPING UP AND DOWN AT THE BOXSCORE. f*** THE HATERS. THIS TEAM IS GOOD. MY FIFTH STARTER (AND FOURTH STARTER) IS BETTER THAN YOURS. TIME TO CHRISTEN PHILLIP HUMBER WITH A NICKNAME. -
So, I thought this would be a fun idea. How about a thread where you post your all time favorite posts by other posters? My favorite is still this (for selfish reasons): QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2011 -> 11:51 AM) And I did just that. I couldn't in good conscious let this horrendous atrocity continue. I might have kids someday. In fact, I'll provide transcripts of my conversation: DCFS: Department of Children and Family Services, this is Agnus, how may I assist you today? Me: Yes, I would like to report some continuous abuse that I've been observing for the last few weeks. Agnus: Ok, Sir. Can I get your first and last name, please? Me: My name is Jordan4life. Agnus: Jordanforlife? Me: Yes Agnus: OK, sir...can I get your date of birth? Me: 4-1-83 Agnus: OK, sir, go right on ahead and tell me what's going on. Me: Yes, there's this gentleman that goes by the name of Quinarvy. And I've observed him repeatedly, I mean at will, abusing another person, I'm assuming a 12-year old child, by the name of VictoryMC98. Agnus: So you say the two parties in question go by the name of Quinarvy and VictoriMC98? Me: That is correct. Agnus: OK, continue. Me: This has been happening every day for weeks now. I don't really know this Quinarvy guy. But this seems to be, like, deliberate and elaborate on his part. Like he's personally picked this child out. You know, like a predator or a big anaconda that stalks its prey? I've never seen anything like it before. Agnus: Wow, this does sound serious. Me: Yes, I know. I'm a hard-working american citizen. I don't smoke or drink. I'm totally against sex before marriage. I go to Church every Monday, Friday and Sunday. I could no longer look at myself in the mirror and no that such domination was talking place in which one human being was, just, I mean, I can't even explain it. Have you ever seen Roots? Agnus: Roots? I don't think I have. Me: Well, in this film, the lead darkie or black guy, gets his foot chopped off when he tries to escape. That's how severe of ownage this is. Agnus: OK, sir. I really appreciate you coming forward. I need you to go a little more into detail now. This might be hard. But I'm going to need some graphic details as I type up this report. Me: That's what I'm here for. OK, there's this message board by the name of Soxtalk. Agnus: Soxtalk? Me: Yes, Soxtalk. Just a bunch of White Sox fans that converge together and discuss the team. And this guy, who I'm assuming is a child, just kinda comes out of nowhere the last month or so and starts postin' jibberish. Like he's trying to impose his will on the board. Agnus: Jibberish? Me: That's basically slang for bulls***. Agnus: I see. Are you sure Victory is a minor? Me: You wouldn't even ask that if you had observed his writings. And quinarvy just abuses him, you know, intellectually. Like you know how they say never bring a knife to a gun fight? Victory apparently doesn't understand that and for some reason tries to challenge Quinarvy even though he's just not equipped. Agnus: Ok, sir. Now when did you observe the physical abuse? Me: Physical? I didn't say that. This is message board abuse. Just one poster clearly getting the best of another. Abuse is abuse, right? Agnus: Wait, you called DCFS up to report message board abuse? Me: I felt it was my duty. Agnus: OK, sir. Can you hold please? Me: No problem ***About 5 minutes goes by*** ***Really loud banging on the door*** Inaudible - Inaudible Police: Open up! You're being charged with filing a fake abuse report! Call abruptly ends

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 12:20 AM) Chris Sale wasn't even that great tonight with location, and he still struck out 11 and came away with a quality start. He's a special talent. Ace. #1 starter talent. This. Sale is a joy to watch. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 19, 2012 -> 11:23 PM) Posts like this confuse me. The White Sox have sucked for two-plus seasons now. Many of us would rather NOT give the team the benefit of the doubt and wait for them to show us things may have changed. Losing 3 of 4 at home to Baltimore is ridiculous. Our hitting sucks. Yes many of us are not completely jumping off the ledge cause play vs. the Central Div. has been good. Everything else has sucked. Goddamn our team for losing to 2 of the best teams in the league when we are expected to suck. We demand sweeping every damn game series! Wait, it confused you? Goddamn our team For losing to two of the best teams in the league When we are expected to suck. We demand sweeping every damn series!
