  1. It was more of a salary dump than trade. Any team that woulds take on $20M is not going to give anything of real value.
  2. They probably have people in the minors that would match the Sox equivalent. Another example of trade frenzy thinking the Dodgers would be interested in low level Sox players because of injury. At 16-6 I don't think they are pressing a panic button. I'm sure Getz could get more guys who have no options. Trading pitching when you have none as it is.
  3. Doubt it. They probably have better options.
  4. Relievers and closers bundled into that would make sense but a closer with 63 is a loser.
  5. Maybe we overrate him
  6. BTW great thread title
  7. a game of opportunities squandered
  8. that was Madrigal stupid
  9. they stuck with Beni for 2 days as leadoff - funny how that works
  10. I didn't see where the ball landed.
  11. The best statement I've read in awhile
  12. Sam needs to stop trying to steal
  13. Surprised our leadoff hitter is 2-4
  14. A perfect example of "let's at ;east get something" that never works for losing teams. They got something but it's often a bad something that contributes to losing more games. We are so conditioned to the habits of losing baseball as fans. Having talented players makes a mark on less talented players. We like to pick on the Mets but I'll give them credit for not acting like small market. Such a shame in Chicago it has been reduced to the small market mentality. It has to be frustrating for the North side fans where ownership only thinks of winning a division based on the other teams in that division got weaker as opposed to a World Series. Brewers traded another stud pitcher and the Cards no longer pursue serious free agents and Cubs not taking action of dominating.
  15. No......we forget MILB is a big divided from MLB.
  16. They need to get lucky and have just one everyday impact player. Stud pitchers are only good every 5th day.
  17. You have to find those who would actually want to come here. It's going to take a long time for the stains to be removed from this organization.
  18. will be ever run out of words? I cab only think of Lol just Lol
  19. no good deed goes unpunished
  20. but that only gets you so far - I don't even know what competitive means anymore, for the Sox it's usually been second place and no post season
  21. It's his 1st year facing MLB pitching. There's some other guys on this team that weren't in the majors a year ago.
  22. Losing is a habit. Or sure there might be a year or two of success but it's still a turd sandwich.
  23. I don't ever see this as a winning organization in my lifetime (or Jerry's). Whenever the new owner takes over he might have to rebuild everything.
