  1. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) talk about anti-climax for a clev fan. We understand their bullpen misery.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Whatever happened to going quietly in the 9th ? The Sox offense may have to beat 2 bullpens again.
  3. I wonder what got into this Jackson guy since joining the Sox. He looks like an ace.
  4. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 07:05 PM) That's just baseball. The complaining about good, aggressive baseball in here is hilarious. We are use to station to station baseball.
  5. Lillibridge always looks clueless on that base paths.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) You forgot about Morel. He's been on fire in AAA as of late. I could see Morel at 3rd next year with Viciedo at DH/1B and Teahen getting some playing time at all three spots. So I take the Dodger didn't get Morel for Manny.
  7. QUOTE (th0mas35 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 12:56 PM) Sale right now has the most confidence than any other pitcher in the bullpen. I'd support the idea. Stink spreads on this team and Sale will eventually have a bad outing. Last night it looked like he was trying to be too finesse.
  8. I wonder who will be the closer for 2011?
  9. I would rather face the Twins at their park. The Twins like hitting at the Cell.
  10. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 30, 2010 -> 05:26 AM) Overall, though, I just can't get past the fact that they went into the season expecting so much out of Jones and Kotsay in the DH spot. I know that hasn't been the biggest problem, but it hasn't helped. Everything clicked together for about 30-35 games. We need that to happen again for the last 32 games. Hopefully Manny can help. The fab four (Peavy, MB, Floyd, Danks) was suppose to compensate for the team being a little weaker at run production. What was suppose to be the Sox strength became the weakness coming out of the gate. This is also 2 seasons in a row where the opening day 3rd baseman lost his job. The defense wasn't there either. Having Omar out there seems to make everyone play better D. Even though baseball is a long season, how you start out is just as important. When there some kind of cushion between 1st and 2nd place there's not so much pressure.
  11. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) Given that the Sox are now paying Manny over $100k a game, why didn't the Sox just line up a private flight if necessary? You would think a player looking for a new contract would make better efforts in chance to prove himself.
  12. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) if we do get him next weekend against the redsox should be interesting....manny against boston nice! I haven't seen too many guys hurt their former teams once they joined the Sox.
  13. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) it has come down to hoping the Mariners save our asses for at least one more day...lol The Twins haven't exactly been world beaters against those Mariners.
  14. If I had to describe the Sox this century except for 2005, the word would be "unclutch".
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 09:16 PM) If I had to pick one word to describe the season to date, it would be "weird." The 25-5 out of nowhere. The horrible start. The incredible excellent starting pitching for a long stretch and then outings like Danks tonight. I realize all teams have similar s*** happen, but this season has been "weird" and am I a lousy fan for saying somewhat "frustrating?" It could be worse. One of these years we are going to be out of it in June and have something to realy complain about. I know what you mean. I'm wondering who are the real White Sox at this point? I've come to accept losing to the Twins is a given even if they were the worst team in baseball.
  16. Maybe it's time for a new pitching coach. How can just about everyone in the pen all suck at once except the kids from the minors? The overall pitching this season has been disappointing all season. It screwed the team at the beginning of the year and is putting the team farther away. Since people like to blame coaches and managers, Coop's group has not lived up to expectations.
  17. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) I'm getting nervous now. I have a feeling the trade may not happen. Worse, I'm not sure KW will make any moves. Another arm for the bullpen would be nice right about now. You'll have a hard time convincing many Sox fans who believe Manny's bat will compensate for that. I don't trust Kenny making a deal right now. What will he give up for something that in no way makes this team an automatic to win the division? There is another GM involved in this deal. He probably will ask more than most of us think.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 06:22 AM) Jones actually could be pretty useful if he would alter his approach and stop trying to hit everything 1000 feet. Isn't that basically the approach of every White Sox hitter? I think this has to change. Every guy Kenny get is like that except for Pierre.
  19. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) I know that last line is a joke but thats not possible since they are on the 40 man roster. It's really not a joke with Linebrink. He might be able to contribute on a NL team.
  20. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 01:18 PM) I'd be surprised if the Sox didn't claim him. The major hurdle, I think, is whether he clears the NL. I think most NL teams would consider him more of a risk since coming off the DL.
  21. QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) I don't think we'll end up giving up ANY prospects in the deal, unless LA kicks in cash. If the Sox claim him, the Dodgers are not going to pull him back and eat $4M. They will let the Sox have him. Kenny give up prospect? Never! Manny's not worth prospects unless they are Linebrink or Kotsay.
  22. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) I thought everybody rejects the White Sox... QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) Manny is different. Hilarious!
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Yes. I don't think this deal gets off the drawing board if it wasn't a guy that Cooper had already told KW he could work with. He had a set of instant changes ready for the guy to start working on in throwing sessions, and so far they've been productive. Coop needs to fix the pen.
  24. QUOTE (C_LEE45 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) what team should we worry about claiming manny? The White Sox. They need a DH who can also go to the mound in late innings and give up less than 3 runs.
