Odd how some fans and Getz are afraid to bring up a guy who hasn't taken a major league swing but somehow manages to hit over .350 at AAA. It also sends a bad message to younger players that enter this organization,' It seems coddling is more important than winning. Getz just looks stupid right now. Right now the Elko situation is the biggest WTF in baseball. Odd that people defend it. I can't see this organization ever being competitive without the Sox fan low expectation yardstick as long as Reinsdorf and Getz are in baseball.

The bad teams will still be bad teams.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.

Getz approves of this by telling fans to be patient. It's the proven formula of the habitual losing small market team. The Sox are the midwest Marlins. We so want to believe this approach works in baseball that we believe in the theory more than the results. It really comes down to identifying talent at all levels. -
This organization excels at that with position players. Getting it wrong most of the time sets an organization back years. It's much harder to get it right in baseball but drafting a 1b with no skill set or the 2nd coming of Harry Chappas with bone headed ability to run the bases doesn't help. So to make up those mistakes you trade young pitching but yet it's kicking the cab down the road. Farm rankings are pointless. They can't fill a team even if these prospects live up to their value. Soon they will revert back to the never ending hole in CF. Weaknesses wont be a bigger issue if you have 3 all star type players on the field.

Completely overrated. Wrong sport. How many legends trained to look like an NFL SS? I often wonder if this creates the brittleness of modern MLB players. You can't condition skill to a point.
-
I have no hope in that. I just see this organization's idea of improvement is the usual 2nd place flrting with .500 Since this is a tougher division it will be the battle for the basement. They will also be the armpitamy of why prospect and farm rankings are meaningless.

5/5 - Sox @ Royals, 6:40 CDT start time
kitekrazy replied to WestEddy's topic in 2025 Season in Review
It will get worse with Robert gone. No one to play a decent CF or stolen bases. But hey they have Vaughn -
They will promote Elko when he in one an 0-19 skid just to prove Vaughn is a better choice.

Ownership breakdown: ishbias 35%, Reinsdorfs 50%

No light at the end of the tunnel until this ownership is gone. That is not a sure thing either. Creating a small market in one of the largest cities in the world is a major accomplishment. -

He's still useful even if he doesn't hit. He's good with a glove as well. -

Hold on to that thought at the trade deadline. -

There just needs to be a forum just of fans of horrible ownership. We can talk all day about trading players while signing Cleveingers and wasting 10M on guys that can't play but you hope some lousy GM will give you something for them. -
LOL just LOL. what more can you say

seem fine batting 2nd always change the lineup after a day of success, instead go for suckfest -
.190 is good enough for this lineup.

Only in fantasy sports. The problem is no one in the system can play CF to replace him. No GM is going to give one up. Somehow the way the Sox luck is he'll get hurt before the deadline and if there is any trade it's a salary dump. -

That's because we are infected with the habitual losing small market disease. We might as well be Marlin fans. Never talk of signing players unless they are s%*# and talk about getting a myth (haul) for the good ones. It wouldn't be so much an issue of they could draft and develop other than pitchers. -
from other organizations................ I have no optimism for the organization............I hate to piss on y'all's parade but expect a lot of rinse and repeat with Getz then Reinsdorf when it comes to paying players. Odd though paying Vaughn and Clevinger. We be habitual losing small market fans.

5/2 @ Houston 640 CDT, Cannon facing Valdez
kitekrazy replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in 2025 Season in Review
a majority of that is off the field -
I'd say that's a pipe dream based on current evidence. The only way to find out if Elko can do the job is bring him up and given him plenty of at bats. The attitude of some here and Getz is they want him to fail, You still can't divorce stupid from this organization.
-
The Sox could always use more of than. It will be a rinse and repeat come the trade deadline. They'll just be kicking that competitive window down the road and Getz will ask fans to be patient. I guess a decade is too much to ask. We are not exactly dealing with a competent owner or GM here. Fans of small market habitual losing organizations always talk trades but never signings. Competitive is such a vague and high bar for fans. It's often being in 2nd place in July and moving down to 4th late August.

only applies to Vaughn pre DFA
