  1. .190 is good enough for this lineup.
  2. Only in fantasy sports. The problem is no one in the system can play CF to replace him. No GM is going to give one up. Somehow the way the Sox luck is he'll get hurt before the deadline and if there is any trade it's a salary dump.
  3. That's because we are infected with the habitual losing small market disease. We might as well be Marlin fans. Never talk of signing players unless they are s%*# and talk about getting a myth (haul) for the good ones. It wouldn't be so much an issue of they could draft and develop other than pitchers.
  4. A lot of teams are blowing late leads. Every time I watch the D'Backs they pull a White Sox.
  5. from other organizations................ I have no optimism for the organization............I hate to piss on y'all's parade but expect a lot of rinse and repeat with Getz then Reinsdorf when it comes to paying players. Odd though paying Vaughn and Clevinger. We be habitual losing small market fans.
  6. I'd say that's a pipe dream based on current evidence. The only way to find out if Elko can do the job is bring him up and given him plenty of at bats. The attitude of some here and Getz is they want him to fail, You still can't divorce stupid from this organization.
  7. The Sox could always use more of than. It will be a rinse and repeat come the trade deadline. They'll just be kicking that competitive window down the road and Getz will ask fans to be patient. I guess a decade is too much to ask. We are not exactly dealing with a competent owner or GM here. Fans of small market habitual losing organizations always talk trades but never signings. Competitive is such a vague and high bar for fans. It's often being in 2nd place in July and moving down to 4th late August.
  8. never promote a player hitting around .350 in AAA Only the White Sox
  9. Don't ya think that is the answer? There is none.
  10. The budget divisions. Both NL coast divisions are brutal.
  11. I think he would be better if he were surrounded by better players. The only "ambitious" GM is Getz.............easily fleeced. It doesn't help when the owner in his perfect world would love to pay minimum wage to baseball players. I'm surprised they haven't toned down on him stealing bases. Gotta make sure he isn't a dented package for players we will never see.
  12. That's the habit of these small market organizations. They sign them for possible trades that never work. Fans losing teams talk about trades, fans of winning teams talk about signing players. That's the lunacy of the business of baseball that even a salary cap can't fix.
  13. Typical Caulfield Nat'l Enquirer type posts. Sometimes it's hard to weed out the bullshit and politcal jabs. He just wasn't good at baseball and one of the dumbest baserunners out there.
  14. I'd chance that dope will sell like hotcakes than those that are a trademark of Reinsdorf ownership.
  15. Except for destroying a fanbase.
  16. Maybe the plan is when he is barring ,400 at Charlotte and then they'll put him in RF so they can keep coddling Vaughn.
  17. Ah..............but wait till the trade dead(again)line. Brenetindi will be traded, Robert probably will too. Not sure how CF will turn out. All for lottery chances for a team that still can't draft/develop position players. He maybe they'll get a decent pitching prospect to eventually flip for more failed position players.
  18. Wait till the trade deadline and they get rid of anyone who is tradable. I think Getz hasn't figured out he's a ML GM and still trying to make Birmingham and ONLY Birmingham better. He's trying to make up for his incompetence as a minor league exec,
  19. They will. It will most likely be for a minor league you will never see play. Subtraction to create long term subtraction.
  20. Somehow it would all backfire. The Sox always seemed to be cursed by injuries. It' hard to for Sox fans to divorce the idea of trades. That's the disease of the habitual losing small market organization. Bad organizations talk trades, winners talk signing players.
  21. I guess that prediction would be based on the foolishness of Getz.
  22. Don't these things happen quite a bit in all of baseball?
