How does Swaggerty's bat project? He seems to have some swing and miss issues by looking at stats.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 04:50 PM) Wrestlemania is supposed to be the end of feuds. They always fill it up with blow off matches, so of course the product feels a little flat 8 days after it. The Raw/Smackdown after Mania always feels a little hungover, they'll do some debuts and returns, but that's about it. Velveteen Dream is fine.. But his character won't translate to the main roster any better than Nak did. He's still very green, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them give him a shot. The Saudi event is the product of having fewer PPVs. It'll be a fun show, and maybe the Brock Lesnar saga will end there under less hostile conditions. I'm tired of hearing about Roman Reigns, but I'm more tired of seeing bad matches with Brock Lesnar. Tonight and tomorrow will be pretty telling. I'm looking forward to a new "season" to begin. I like this positive, rational post. I think the narrative is all but written on Reigns beating Brock at TGRR. No way they book the match again to have the golden boy lose 2 times in a row. Also, predictions for the shakeup- DB moving back to Raw, Finn and the Club going to SD tomorrow. AJ and Finn battling for the Club would make the SD storyline much more interesting. -
If there was ever a Caufield thread, this would be it. By the way, Bartolo is a big miss, dude was a 2x white sox.

It's good to see the OF guys are off to a good start. I just realized how scary this our infield crop is, especially in the middle of the field. What we have in the majors if all we have. Double Y may be the best infield prospect in the system right now.

I think we will need some luck to land MPJ. 1, 2 and 3 are some combination of Ayton, Bagley and Doncic. Then you have JJJ who is a could be a special 2 way player in his own rights, and there is always a team that likes a 7 foot defensive anchor so Bamba could be considered here. I could see MPJ going anywhere from 4-6. He's the guy I want the most because his game fits today's NBA so well, but I honestly won't be disappointed with JJJ or Bamba either. I just hope we get at least the 6th pick. -

There are people who are hesitant about MPJ even at 6 because of the injury and the missed time. Reality is if he was fully healthy, he wouldn't have falling to us. Simmons missed a year of pro ball and dominated in his 2nd year. MPJ missed a year of college ball, I think he could be one of the top young players by his second season. -
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 12:26 PM) Fun fact: the players used to call Uribe "Juanaconda" because he had the biggest penis on the team I'm not kidding So I wonder why "Yoanacada" isn't a thing yet

To get some way too early draft debates going, ESPN and nbadraft.net seems to think either MPJ or Bamba will fall to our range even at 7th pick. Who’s the BPA between MPJ, Bamba, Young and WCJ? And who’s the best fit? -

One of the better mania in recent memories. Started off great, every match told a pretty good story with exception of maybe the tag matches. I expected the last match to be bad, but it was really bad. At least the surprise at the end made it more interesting. Back to Taker match. I don't know how anyone could be disappointed or complain about that match. It got a huge pop and the crowd was into it. It wasn't even on the card for pete's sake, so I don't know what anyone was expecting out of it. It was short and impactful, a departure of past Taker WM matches where they overdo kicking out of finishers. Taker even looked more rejuvenated and had more bounce in his steps. -

Geez, the rant on this thread is suffocating. It's probably one of the worst on this board. -
Looks like someone is jumping the gun and starting the second annual Yoan Moncada is a bust thread early.

Not sure who owns the tie breaker but if they lose tonight they're just within a game of the 4th pick. Losing out the remaining games is what this team needs. -
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 03:23 PM) Ya know that actually looks like a decent f***ing lineup imo. Not bad for a $60 mil payroll, $20 of which goes to James Shields.

Shinsuke vs Styles is a dream match, but the build has been underwhelming. Brock vs Roman is a match no one wanted to see, but the build has been surprisingly good. -

Welp, we all know who's winning the MMC too. I will still watch it because it's pure entertainment compared to the weekly shows. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 12:39 PM) You never know the power of Cam Payne when it comes to losing, but I think your right. I really think a couple of these teams might lose the rest of their games. I would think if it was too crazy, the Commissioner could step in and do something. Maybe even take the pick away or move it down the draft. But with so many teams doing the same thing, that won't happen if it was possible, which I have no idea. I do think this year's massive tank is going to spur the league into doing something about it. I think the new lottery system will help to an extent. But it seems like teams have figured out the NBA hell isn't worth staying in and they opt to tear down the team, collect assets and hope to build through draft or free agency. I don't know if there is a system everyone is happy with. Maybe the league should look into increasing the odds of teams who are in the bottom of the lottery list, that way teams can stay competitive in the playoff race and still have a decent chance of getting a good draft pick. -

Bulls has 22 games left, but they probably have most games against tanking teams (bottom 8) out of everybody with 7 games. They also have 1 against Knicks, who might as well be a tanking team after losing Porzingis. I think they just aren't not bad enough and finishes with 24-25 wins. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 27, 2018 -> 06:41 AM) I know we played Brooklyn last night, but at some point the rest of these tanking teams have to play one another. At the Bulls are stepping up their tank game, although I’m a little worried it’s too too late. There are about 20 games left in the season. 5 teams at 18 wins, Mavs are at 19, Bulls and Nets are at 20. Bulls play Mavs this weekend. At this rate I think the worst team record will at 20 wins, which will be shared by a couple of teams. And 2-3 teams will be tied for 21 wins. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 7, 2018 -> 07:24 PM) I think if you dumped 5 million dollars into any one of our laps tomorrow for a one year salary we'd make it last the rest of our lives. There could be extenuating circumstances such as if we didn't have insurance and something horrible happened to us and drained all our money. Now your last sentence is interesting if he's trying to support many many others. I'm just saying complaining about things regarding Avi and players like him may be misguided by me since he's rolling in money and set for life, at least in my opinion set for life. Do you realize how much of that $5.85 mil will go into tax and agent fees? He's probably pocketing at max $3.5 mil after all deductions. Even if he lives the most modest lifestyle for a pro athlete, that will hardly last him for than 20 years, not counting inflation.

Take your time and heal up, Kris. In fact, Lauri should take a few weeks off to enjoy fatherhood. -

I think we may be a few years away from GM's and cap specialists making adjustments to newfound spending freedom teams have. Basically every all star, potential all star, or even borderline all star are looking for max or near max deals. To me a guy like Lavine does not do enough to get a even a near max deal. When I think of a max deal player, I think they have to be able to impact the game in more than one way, or if you're a one dimensional player, you gotta be ELITE at your skillset. We all know what Lavine is capable of pre-injury, and he has not had the opportunity to take his game to the next level yet, and there are doubts that he could actually do that, especially after coming back from a torn ACL. Gar has been credited as a strong contract negotiator. Let's hope he can come up with a deal to keep Lavine happy and also find a middle ground between what he is now and what he could become. -
That's a familiar play

QUOTE (oldsox @ Feb 4, 2018 -> 06:26 AM) Greg has a point. Face it, the majority of the rebuilding efforts have been through trades, not draft picks. The last two Number 1 picks, Burger and Collins, are hardly the cornerstones of the rebuild. If Sox could find a real major league CF, they have what could be a pretty good lineup. I would like to see them go for it, at least until Trading Deadline, and see what happens. Yea, and half of the the prospects we traded for are still in the minors, the other half barely got their feet wet last year. So what's your point?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 3, 2018 -> 08:42 PM) I don't see why we have to have the worst bullpen in baseball. I mean our division reeks yet we make no attempt to improve the worst part of our team. Nobody's ever said on the record that our goal is to lose all our games. Look, Detroit and KC arguably reek. That leaves Minnie and Cleveland. Cleveland is the cliche. The Indians haven't completed the deal and unless they are like the old Braves may be ready to have a bad year and play closer to .500 than dominating. Minnie isn't for real. They are cheaper than the Sox organization. I contend if we actually had a closer, a setup guy and let either Soria or Nate be the third reliever we might actually win the damn division. No we’re not a closer and a setup man away from competing for the division. That type of thinking is what got us stuck in mediocrity for so long.
