QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 01:35 PM) Haha. I've learned from this thread that I need to treat it like it is now... booking will never get significantly better. Now, onto the topic of this years Wrestlemania... I'll be watching for sure. With that being said, I have 0 confidence that this event will be any level of good. It will be a fun 4-5-6 (?) hours of entertainment on a Sunday night. Opinions on some things: Berg vs. Brock --> hideous. Ugly. You can't convince me that the actual fans want to see this s***. I am convinced that its WWE sound manipulation. Goldberg has done nothing, yet is the champion of the world. Brock is mr. do-nothing, show up, have Heyman talk, and put on a 2* match. This match will be horrible. The build has been OK, but it's all useless. It's disturbing that this is what we get as the main event, if I was a WWE superstar, I'd be upset about this. Although, AJ Styles did mention that thy bring popularity to the product, and thus, his name, which is good... so be it. HHH vs. Rollins --> COOL! Fine wrestlemania match. Rollins gets a rub from a legend that can still go on the mic and in the ring. Should be an enjoyable match and the build has been good (although, convoluted as this has been building on and off for a year now). Jericho vs. KO --> Greatness! Most anticipated match of the night for me. Build has been pretty damn awesome, the story is great, the match should be good. Styles vs. Shane --> Any match with Styles is worth anticipating, but how do you put the best in the world with Shane is beside me. They couldn't find a way to get Nakumara vs. Styles? Meh. OK. I'll watch with hopes that this match is decent/good. Raw Womens 4-way --> They've done everything they could to kill any motivation for Raw Women's matches. I'm still a huge mark for Bayley and Banks and Charlotte so I will watch this happily, but not as happy as I would have been with good building and avoiding nia jax. It's nice that it is elimination, I wonder who the last two will be? Bayley vs. Banks? SD Women's 6 pack?? --> Useless. They've killed this division going into WM. Can't say I care at all. Raw LAdder Tag Title 3-way --> Yes! Ladder match! Kinda a weird way to make this match a ladder match at the last second, but I'm all in! Love ladder matches (who doesn't)? Weird competitors for the ladder match, can't really see anyone winning other than Enzo and Cass now. Should be a really fun match from a s*** division. Undertaker vs. Reigns --> Taker needs to retire. Reigns is an asshat. f*** the booking, f*** this match, I don't even know who I want to win. Cena/bella vs Miz/Maryse --> Meh. Good build, but would have been better just straight up Cena vs. Miz. Ambrose vs. corbin --> OK. Ill watch, but not expecting too much. Missing Aries vs Neville. I honestly forgot about this match too, but I think this could easily be the match of the night. -

One of the few things I'm looking forward to is Sasha turning heel. The storyline is definitely building towards that. That only thing stopping it is lack of faces in the Women's division. Perhaps Asuka will drop the title at Takeover and move up to Raw on next week? -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2017 -> 11:34 AM) Has Brock-Goldberg been good? Granted, this week has been the first full Raw and SD's I've watched since the rumble but holy hell that go home segment was garbage. They are getting some pretty good pop from the fans and the shock factor of Goldberg squash is still there. Outside of that, it's mostly Heyman doing this thing and minimizing matches and physical confrontation between those two before Mania. -

Least excited I'm about Mania in a while, and it's not that the build up for the matches are bad - Jeri-KO, Brock vs Goldberg, Seth vs Hunter, Cena vs Miz all has some pretty good build ups (on the other hand, the Orton/Bray storyline was just bad the past few weeks), but I don't think any of the matches will be Mania worthy, for various reasons. On a side note, the Alpha vs Usos tag match last week was awesome. It's unfortunate that they aren't getting a match at WM. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Jusuf's line since trade: 15.0/10.4/3.3/1.2/1.9 That's in just over 29 MPG. Gary Harris would be a 20 point scorer right now on a lot of teams. It's just that Denver is loaded with scorers, especially at wing/guard. I don't see that, at least for now. But agreed in principle that the dude could score, and efficiently. Him and Butler would have been a good combo. Question is I had is would we still have selected those two had we not decided to trade with Denver? Did Denver scouts see something in those guys or was it our scouts?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 29, 2017 -> 11:34 AM) What about Cam Payne Solid starting point guard, for the Windy City Bulls.
-
Denver played Portland last night. Nurkic has been killing it since the trade. Gary Harris looks like he could be a 20 point scorer someday.

RIP Raw. Strowman took the first clean loss from Reigns, all that awesome buildup the last few months gets wasted by Super Roman. Bayley ends Charlotte's historic streak in the PPV before Mania, LAME. And the match was pretty bad, I'm just not sold on Bayley yet, and the finish was extremely awkward. -
2017 NFL off season thread

According to this, the Bears have drafted 3 first round caliber players last year. http://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id...os-angeles-rams -
Tapia and Dahl would look nice on this team.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 02:09 PM) So, hurt your chances this year, then decide? If they were going to wait until the offseason to decide, they may as well have tried to win some games the next couple of months. Maybe I am way off, but I don't think Payne is a game changer. He isn't a good shooter, he isn't really a good passer. He does play decent defense, but if you are a point guard who can't shoot or pass, and rely on defense to stay in the league, you are a 10-15 minute a night guy at best, and will probably go 2 week stretches of not playing at all under Hoiberg. I personally hate the trade, they overpaid for Payne, even if he might have some potential. But don't take this trade as an indicator of the direction we're heading toward, as clearly the decision have not been made yet. They could be just buying time here. If Payne, Niko/Portis turn out to be capable starters, they might make a couple of moves in the offseason to retool. If they flopped (which I think they will), they might finally tear it all down then.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 24, 2017 -> 01:19 PM) You would think Rondo is next to go. They have to play Payne. Losing the threat of McBuckets hitting a 3 isn't going to help the second unit IMO. I still don't understand the trade. If the goal is to rebuild, then rebuild. If the goal is to make the playoffs, then trading McDermott and Taj in essence for a lottery ticket in Payne is beyond questionable. Hopefully this will at least signal some consistent minutes for Valentine. I just don't know how you can expect a young guy learning the league to do much with the way Fred hands out minutes. It's crazy, and he is a guy who was pretty much a bench player. They have not decided whether to rebuild or compete. They made the trade to get some value out of Taj's expiring contract, since he won't be resigned in the off season, and also to cut the losses on McDermott. I suspect that they will wait till the off season to pick a direction.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 05:42 PM) By the way, both the Celtics and Bulls beat writers are saying Woj's report of the Celtics offering both Nets picks is false. I think my own report is more accurate...which is that the Bulls barely even talked to the Celtics about Butler and all conversations were driven by Ainge wanting Butler and not the Bulls wanting to move Jimmy. Lots of Bulls people (and even other legit NBA reports (and Woj is the best...just not at covering the Bulls)) indicated the Bulls had made it very clear over the past couple days that Jimmy was not on the market. If teams wanted to call, they were welcome to do so, but the Bulls were not actively shopping him. On the drive home listening to Waddle & Silvy, the belief around the league is Bulls haven't figured out what they want to do with Butler, meaning they haven't figured out if they want to compete or rebuild. They simply engage in trade talks to see what Butler's value was, but with no real intention of trading him.

f***ing idiots part#2. We've been targeting Okafor all along when it costed peanuts to get a deal done for Noel. The fact that this team failed to see who the better and more valuable player is going forward, shame on them.
-
f***ing idiots. We made a trade for the sake of making a trade. All 3 guys we got back are bench players, not very good ones at that. I have zero faith we could develop Payne into a starter level PG. I also hate throwing away second round picks in this day and age. There are plenty of hidden gems overseas that aren't drafted in the first round because teams want to play it safe, but gets drafted in second round and develops into nice players.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 08:48 AM) That's true. Goldberg/Brock could tell a good story but Goldberg doing anything over 10 minutes could be bad. Don't understand the thinking of booking Cena and Styles the way they will. And you know Cena has final say in his match so he's partly to blame. I have no problem with Cena vs Miz for WM. Remember when we were all tired of seeing Super Cena in the title scene? Now he's not going into WM as the champ and people are still not happy. I get that him dropping the belt after 2 weeks is silly booking, but Cena vs Miz at WM itself isn't a bad match, especially if Cena puts Miz over, and Miz moves on to the title scene soon after. We're still 5 weeks away from WM, I expect the feud to heat up in next week's show. It should be some great promos between those 2. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 22, 2017 -> 09:18 AM) Crowder has been a stud, but if they got Jimmy it's not like he'd get a ton of minutes. I doubt this report is true. I assume the issue is how many 1st rounders the Bulls get and the inclusion of Brown. Crowder's 27 soon and would never be a reason a Jimmy deal did not go down. Crowder would be a good role player for a contender. But if we're trading Jimmy, we're rebuilding. Crowder should not be the primary or secondary option for a rebuilding team. I'd rather get an extra first round pick than to be getting caught up on Crowder.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) I presume the Kings must have some ridiculous internal scouting reports on the players they got...but man it makes no sense and I agree with you. I saw it and literally was like, geeze, we could have made this deal. Even if that's the case, take what J4L posted for instance QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 10:53 AM) I'm listening to espn 1000. Hearing A LOT of GMs are PISSED. They had no idea it would take so little to get a top 8 player in the game. The Wizards for example could've given up Otto Porter+ that would've been better than what the Pelicans gave up. The only player with upside they got back is Hield. If they have some sort of inside intel on Hield, the package is still very weak by industry standards. If they field a couple more offers from others teams, they could drive a bidding war and it forces NOLA to put a better package around Hield to match other teams. The fact that they failed to do that shows a lack of competency, maybe there's something else going on behind doors that we don't know, but still it's a failure. We know that this is a superstars league. I'm just disgusted at the fact that a hapless franchise, who is within reaching distance of a playoff spot for a change, just traded away a superstar for half of what he's worth and sealed their fate as the bottom dweller in the West for the next 5-7 years.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Feb 20, 2017 -> 07:47 AM) Contract the Kings. That's abysmal. Probably 20 teams can top that easily, so I can't blame any single one for underestimating the stupidity of the Kings. One other thing I haven't really seen mentioned: Philly can swap picks with the Kings this year. Without Boogie, they're basically a D-League team. Even if they don't end up worse than Philly, it's like the Sixers get two solid shots at the top-3. The Kings should just hire Hinkie since they already did step 1. If Philly swaps with Kings, and their pick is outside of top 10, do we in turn get that pick?
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 19, 2017 -> 11:17 PM) D-rob was past his prime by the time he and Duncan got together. This is crazy. Warriors fans everywhere are shook. They want no part of the Pelicans in round 1. Their size and versatility skillwise would give GSW a lot of trouble. But their wing depth is god awful. Let's see if they still have a move or two left in them to make a run this year. Maybe they could get some of the vets to sign for minimum. But this is exactly the type of move you need to make to get out of NBA hell.
-
Yep, that's a nasty combination who can do it all. Would rival the Spurs twin tower duo for sure.
-
Boogie Cousins to Pelicans for an underwhelming package. NOLA came out a winner this weekend.
-
I haven't paid attention to the Nets this year so missed on Lopez. It's crazy how these big men, Cousins, Gasol, Millsap, and Lopez to name a few, out of nowhere suddenly became legit 3 point threats.

Can we add that super dope Guaranteed Rate logo next to Dunn?
