QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 11:03 AM) I agree with everyone but Zipser. His play got considerably better once he got playing time. Oh and Payne can do a mean high five in the middle of a game while riding the bench I like the way Zipser plays, I think he could be a pretty good role player given time. But when he's your 7 or 8th man off the bench in a playoff series, it speaks volume for the terrible roster that's GarPax put together.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 10:27 AM) Probably stupid on my part but I gained respect for Hoiberg post Taj trade. He tried to make those awful point guards work, then said screw GarPax, and pushed hard on Mirotic/Rondo/Grant to pretty good results. I think you could look at Pacers and Heat and think we should be better with Butler being best player across those teams, but our second unit is filled with garbage. No kidding. MCW, Valentine, Zipser, Payne, Canaan, Morrow all shoots under 40% and has PER under 10. I don't know if there are any teams out there who could match that.
-
The thing is, the parity of talent between the 7 East teams in the playoffs (besides Cleveland) isn't huge, if the Bulls had a better coach and made a couple of trades to solidify their bench, they could realistically get past Boston and Washington to meet Cleveland in the conference finals. As it stands now, I think even though we have the best 1 or even 2 players in this series, we will go down 4-1 or 4-2.
-
Ok guys, last night of regular season. I am conflicted on if I am rooting for the Bulls to make the playoffs (though they have no reason not to at home vs. Net's who's setting their best players). Here are the scenarios: - an L and Miami W - Bulls out (better pick, and puts more pressure to make changes to the FO, we can dream) - a W and Pacers W - Bulls 8th seed (likely face Celtics in the first round, whom they were 2-2 in the regular season against) - a W and Pacers L - Bulls 7ths seed (likely face Cavs, and no chance in hell against Lebron)

I'm just happy Sami is now on SD. I predict a world title reign before the next WM. -
Because K% is calculated using PA's, not AB's.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 08:53 AM) Moncada won't have an average below .260 with that speed and power combination. http://thebaseballcube.com/players/profile...P=Michael-Trout Trout in the minors, 211/1117=19% I doubt Moncada finishes higher than 25% in AAA. We'll see. Tim Anderson's 193/673 at the major league level, that's closing in on 30%. I don't get the Trout comparison, they are both great athletes, but will each impact the game differently, plays the different positions. FWIW Trout was a far more advanced hitter in the minors compared to Moncada at present. Your numbers on Anderson is also incorrect. His minor league K% was 22.5%, but bumped up to 27.3% (124/453) with the Sox. I am hoping Moncada limits K% to 25% in AAA, but that's going to take some work, primarily in learning to hit offspeed pitche. The K% is worth monitoring.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 01:12 AM) Moncada has a 29% strikeout rate in 731 minor league at-bats, 213/731. But a 395 OBP. I'm pretty sure everyone could live with a 30-35% K rate his first year or two in the majors as long as his OPS was over 800 and his OBP was over 350. That's not even taking into consideration the damage he can do with his speed on the basepaths. Since 2014, there are only 9 times a qualified player finished with K rate above 30%, and the highest was 33%. Chris Carter, Chris Davis, Adam Dunn, and one Michael Taylor made up for most of those 9 finishes, and they are perennial .210, .220 hitters. If Moncada comes up and hits .230 and strikes out 35% of the time in the first year, I'm sure most people here will panic instead of "being able to live with it", and wants him sent back to the minors to get more seasoning.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 10, 2017 -> 11:24 PM) He walks a ton though. The strikeouts aren't ideal but I don't believe he strikes out "too much". Even if it's like a 25% clip, what else is he doing? Is he on base like almsot 40% of the time? I expect to him to always be a pretty high strikeout guy. What makes you think he'd only K 25% in the majors right now? If he ends up only striking out 25% in the majors, I have no problem with that, but he's far from even that level right now. Call him up now (or even in the remote future) he's a safe bet to K around 35% of the time.
-
Goal this year is to let the kids develop, let's not let 2 months of results change that. Moncada has a lot of work to do in terms of learning to hit the offspeed stuff. I wouldn't mind if he takes the full year in Charlotte doing that.
-
.364/.588/.818, you're almost at Babe Ruth territory Zack!
-
Pitcher: Dane Dunning - surprised no one picked him yet. I think he will be fast mover and end up in Double A by year end. Hitter: John Cruz - strong defender and I have confidence in his ability to hit. Will be 21 starting the year in High A. On Carlos Perez, IIRC he was healthy all of last year and didn't get much playing time. It likely means the organization isn't that high on him.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 03:28 PM) Anyone who thinks Emma is crap needs to watch her match with Asuka from London about a year and a half ago. It was awesome. And as annoying Enzo has become, he and Cass are still super over. It's not to the fault of the casual observers, Emma's booking has been absolutely terrible during her time on Raw. I can't stand Enzo and Cass, I am sure people aren't over them yet. -

QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 02:40 PM) I would hate to see AJ go to Raw now that Nakamura is finally there. Really want to see them go after it for a while this year. Imagine that feud. Enzo and Cass to SD would be perfect. Have them come in and squash Ellsworth and get the crew back together with my girl Carmella. Keep Miz on SD as well...that guy is AWESOME! I agree with Charlotte going to SD...would hate to see Beckye go to Raw, though. Bring Asuka to SD with Charlotte and you have one hell of a woman's division. I thought they should have put Nakamura in Raw, but AJ would be great in Raw regardless. I think Asuka will end up in Raw when the time comes. Charlotte could feud with Mickie James or Naomi at SD for now. -

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 5, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) I have a feeling Rollins is either turning heel or going to SD. He posted a picture of him and Balor from the other night and all he wrote was "things are about to change." Most likely, given there are more faces than heels in SD. Regardless of who goes to which brand, I want all Shield and Club member to be on one brand. A feud between the two factions would be epic. -

There is nothing else left for Charlotte on Raw. Bayley and Sasha will be the next big feud so she's the odd women out. I think the Charlotte, Becky, AJ and Sami are a lock to switch brands next week. -

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 4, 2017 -> 08:57 AM) I don't think this is going to be a draft so much as series of trades. They didn't call it draft exactly, but I suspect there will be quite a few of shakeups and will have the same effect of a draft. It also doesn't make sense to me that they do trades now and then a full draft in June or July. Perhaps they're skipping the draft this year? Anyways I suspect at least the following to take place: Raw gets AJ, Ziggler, Mojo Rawley, Slater and Ryback, Becky Lynch SD gets Rollins, Sami, Rusev and Lana, Enzo and Cass, Charlotte -

I like the idea of draft right after the WM, allows old feuds to end and new feuds to start right away. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 11:47 PM) Lesnar vs Brock was awesome. Best 5 minute match ever. Main event was probably the worst main event in WM history. Undertaker couldn't go. Reigns, who can't get over as it is, got put completely in a no win situation by having an absolutely horrible match and ending the career of a legend. Not sure what they do with that. Really good mania overall. Shane vs AJ was MOTN. Shane did awesome, even outside his big spots. Wasn't a case of AJ carrying him either. Just s great match. I wasn't too thrilled with the Brock vs Goldberg match, but I agreed that AJ vs Shane was the match of the night. I saw a lot from Shane that I didn't expect to see. It's sad to say that the 47 year old commissioner put on a better show than the 6 guys from the title matches and main event. That said, my top 5 matches of the night are: 1) AJ vs Shane 2) Raw tag title match 3) Rollins vs Triple H 4) Raw women's title match 5) Owens vs Jericho I didn't catch the Neville vs Aries match (was really looking forward to it), I heard it was great so it probably would have made the top 5. -

I hate Vince McMahon. The whole Taker putting Reigns over to finish his career reeks his idea, despite fans rejecting the guy over and over again for years now. Having Taker ride it out with Finn, AJ, Owens, or even Braun or Miz would make more sense to me. These are the guys fans could get behind. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) They did full broken gimmick on WWE Snapchat post match. Steph taking another Mania bump! I would hate if they don't do anything revolving around the Broken theme. I like how Cole made a pun that things are about to be broken when Hardy's made their way to the ring. -

Holy s***, not sure if Rollins knee was really hurting or he's doing a really good job of selling. There were a couple of spots there where I thought he legit hurt his knee again. -

Now we know why did a last minute switch to a lady match, that was a pretty awesome surprise. Was disappointed Sasha didn't turn heel in the last match, now I'm just hoping Asuka is added as a surprise entrant to the SD women's match. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Feels like I'm alone, but I don't see HHH losing two years in a row. Especially to an injured/sick Rollins. While best for business is something they use in the storyline way too much, I think Triple H beating Rollins will not be best for business in real life. There are also talk that Triple H is considering ending his in ring career for good, so him beating Rollins right here would not be a good move. -

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 31, 2017 -> 01:35 PM) Haha. I've learned from this thread that I need to treat it like it is now... booking will never get significantly better. Now, onto the topic of this years Wrestlemania... I'll be watching for sure. With that being said, I have 0 confidence that this event will be any level of good. It will be a fun 4-5-6 (?) hours of entertainment on a Sunday night. Opinions on some things: Berg vs. Brock --> hideous. Ugly. You can't convince me that the actual fans want to see this s***. I am convinced that its WWE sound manipulation. Goldberg has done nothing, yet is the champion of the world. Brock is mr. do-nothing, show up, have Heyman talk, and put on a 2* match. This match will be horrible. The build has been OK, but it's all useless. It's disturbing that this is what we get as the main event, if I was a WWE superstar, I'd be upset about this. Although, AJ Styles did mention that thy bring popularity to the product, and thus, his name, which is good... so be it. HHH vs. Rollins --> COOL! Fine wrestlemania match. Rollins gets a rub from a legend that can still go on the mic and in the ring. Should be an enjoyable match and the build has been good (although, convoluted as this has been building on and off for a year now). Jericho vs. KO --> Greatness! Most anticipated match of the night for me. Build has been pretty damn awesome, the story is great, the match should be good. Styles vs. Shane --> Any match with Styles is worth anticipating, but how do you put the best in the world with Shane is beside me. They couldn't find a way to get Nakumara vs. Styles? Meh. OK. I'll watch with hopes that this match is decent/good. Raw Womens 4-way --> They've done everything they could to kill any motivation for Raw Women's matches. I'm still a huge mark for Bayley and Banks and Charlotte so I will watch this happily, but not as happy as I would have been with good building and avoiding nia jax. It's nice that it is elimination, I wonder who the last two will be? Bayley vs. Banks? SD Women's 6 pack?? --> Useless. They've killed this division going into WM. Can't say I care at all. Raw LAdder Tag Title 3-way --> Yes! Ladder match! Kinda a weird way to make this match a ladder match at the last second, but I'm all in! Love ladder matches (who doesn't)? Weird competitors for the ladder match, can't really see anyone winning other than Enzo and Cass now. Should be a really fun match from a s*** division. Undertaker vs. Reigns --> Taker needs to retire. Reigns is an asshat. f*** the booking, f*** this match, I don't even know who I want to win. Cena/bella vs Miz/Maryse --> Meh. Good build, but would have been better just straight up Cena vs. Miz. Ambrose vs. corbin --> OK. Ill watch, but not expecting too much. Missing Aries vs Neville. I honestly forgot about this match too, but I think this could easily be the match of the night.
