QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 10:49 PM) Twins fans must be loving this move. LOL I figured the same thing. AJ can become a thorn against the Twinkies. I loved this signing, KW great job. I like the fact that he accepted the sox offer even though other teams are offering more money. Has the world gone wrong bcoz players seem to want to play for us and we keep signing them too!!!!!!!
-
Hey guys this is my 2nd time asking, can someone make me a new sig.
-
This is a great signing. Im here at work but cant wait to play the sox on MVP baseball with AJ on it. Kudos KW for researching about him and still give him a chance after bad things was said about AJ. AJ its your turn to be a thorn against the Twinkies.
-
Good to hear we finally sign AJ, I was scared we will let him go to other teams. Good job KW

Damn this is a very good news, rotoworld has this blurb too. I'll wait though before I jump around, its early in the morning still.

Odaliz Perez will be back with the Dodgers per rotoworld. Odalis Perez will re-sign with the Dodgers for $24 million over three years, ESPNews reports. At one point in the offseason, it had seemed like offers for Perez may top out at about $5 million per season. This is more in line with what he deserves compared to what Russ Ortiz, Eric Milton and Kris Benson received. Staying with the Dodgers should allow him to keep posting sub-4.00 ERAs through the end of the deal. With Perez joining Jeff Weaver and Brad Penny, there are now two rotation spots open for Edwin Jackson, Kazuhisa Ishii, Elmer Dessens and Wilson Alvarez. The Dodgers still could add another pitcher to guarantee that both Dessens and Alvarez will work out of the pen initially. Jan. 4 - 6:01 pm et

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) Its finally over. Barring any setbacks in the 72 hour contract negotiation period, a trade sending Randy Johnson to the Yankees for Javier Vazquez, Brad Halsey, Dioner Navarro and $9M has been completed. MLB Story Heard the same thing about Vazquez being shopped to us. I dont think KW will try and get him bcoz I read Vazquez wants to stay in NL.
-
Uribe better lose the weight soon, we are counting on him big time at SS this year!
-
Do any of you guys here have a Juan Uribe picture you can share?
-
I think we are better, hope the change will relieve us of recently called up pitchers pitching like a Cy young winner against us.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) I still think the Sox have two more moves left in them before the regular season. Two moves that will have an effect on the major league roster that is. I think we'll know where the Sox stand by the end of the week. I agree we need two more moves, an infielder and a catcher. KW said he would like to have the lineup set by the first week of Jan. so probably by that time we'll know if AJ chooses us and whoever will battle with Harris at second. I believe KW wants to do this bcoz he wants to set the lineup before Soxfest.
-
I really like the offseason moves we have made this year. I like the change of focus from POWER to Pitching and Defense. Hey this is the busiest offseason Ive ever seen with us. For the moves I'll say its a B+ and if AJ and a 2nd baseman is added then this will be a very good offseason. On the trib article, the AJ,Iguchi situation should be solve within the first week of Janaury. Will the SOX introduce all the new players on soxfest, we dont have a press conference with any signings.
-
Its a good thing we regained interest in AJ. Everybody deserves another chance. Also on the trib article, KW said he has been told that the SOX has been popular in Japan bcoz of Shingo. I think this is a good thing for us being able to recruit from Japan.
-
That's why I think I like the idea of getting AJ. I think Ozzie will control him and turn him around. If AJ says, give him chance then he'll be a good player to give a second chance to prove himself.
-
What? I was really excited that we may have him on our lineup.
-
We have not won with our big boppers since 2000. I am all for a change. If we add Eckstein then this will be a very good offseason especially compared to last year. We have made a lot of moves and most are positive moves.
-
I think its still the Twins. If we decrease the amt of walks given by Contreras and Garland becomes more consistent then we will be the best in AL central.
-
At first I did not like the El Duque signing. But to think of how he was last year, I'll take that over Grilli, Diaz or Hermanson starting. We have had bad luck completing our rotation and now at least we have 5 starters that get us a win. I dont mind how old he is. Remember we tried getting RJ who is an old pitcher too but a good one still.
-
Damn Miller would have been a good option. BoSox keeps signing everybody. They became the yankees all of a sudden.
-
Cora or Ecks will make this offseason sooooooo good. I read that Ozzie's fav. player last year was Eckstein. Hear is the quote from chisox.com. Eckstein was a favorite of manager Ozzie Guillen's last season because of his grittiness and the manner in which he set up the offense at the top of the order. The diminutive shortstop made just six errors in the field during the 2004 season. I really like Uribe at SS so if we get eck he should be at 2nd but beck72 made a good point with eck has not played much at 2nd base. But either Cora or Eckstein will make me damn happy to be a sox fan!!!!!

What the heck is going on with boston? They became the yanks buying all people who are eligible. on the other side, I wish our management is like that but I guess when you win, you become hungry for more.

WSCR 670AM, MLB.com: "El Duque" agrees to deal
bulokis replied to Flash Tizzle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think it will be a successful offseason now we are filling our rotation and getting another infield help. We changed a lot on our team and I like all the changes. -
Heard on ESPN1000 update, the 3 way deal is dead bcoz the dodgers withdrew their offer.
-
Perez will fit right in. A lefty and a hard thrower in our rotation will make our rotation one of the best.
