f*** the Cubs official game thread 5/30/13
The palehose should stick whoever is the statistically worst Sox hitter in the 5-hole. 212/277/344 (621 OPS - second worst OPS in lineup)

Hawk still out with sore throat
Clearly Hawk doesnt have TWTW if he is "out sick". Where's the fire and passion? Where's the will to win? C'mon Hawk!

Cubs vs Sox 1:20 PM
This is a horses*** team, no matter how hard you try to see positives... they dont pitch well, don't field well and can't hit. My inner "John Madden" tells me that you need to do all 3 things well to win baseball games. Aside from a few bright spots (Alex Rios, Conor Gillaspie, Chris Sale, Jake Peavy, Addison Reed, Jesse Crain).... this team is 76% horses***. That's 6 good players out of 25, for those keeping score at home.

Sale Scratched for Tomorrow
This is insane. DO they really need Omogrosso on the roster that badly that they can't call someone up to start in Sale's place?

Game Thread 5/20: BOS @ SOX
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 20, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) They need to stop trying to sell season ticket plans that ship has sailed. ALL IN!

Game Thread 5/20: BOS @ SOX
Professional AB there by Keppinger. Drive up that pitch count....

Game Thread 5/20: BOS @ SOX
The Red Sox offense is really good, so the Sox will need more than 5 runs with Axelrod pitching tonight.

Very unlikely trade rumor involving PK, JC, HS
I've heard that this trade is agreed upon in principal, pending a brain scan and psychological evaluation of the Diamondbacks GM.

What I Would Do

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) The Braves want to move to the AL? Yea, so I think the joke is lost having not been spoken aloud. Braves fans don't want Uggla hitting or playing in the field. Since they play in the NL and obviously don't have a DH, Uggla wouldn't be playing much.

2013 Cubs catch all thread
So uh... funny story. I went to a "rock" concert this week in my new hometown (not Chicago) and I was talking to the band a bit after. They asked for cool places to visit in Chicago when the tour swings through later this month. They asked if going to a Cubs game is a waste of time because "aren't they pretty much the worst team in the history of ever?" :roflcopters:

Hawkins leaves game after diving catch
Maybe this injury will cause him to have limited range-of-motion in his left shoulder and subsequently, fix the huge ass hitch in his swing.

Peavy Out
Come on you guys... for all we know Peavy slept weird lastnight and has back pain. I'm roughly his same age and that s*** happens to me all the time. Let's not all jump off the bridge because Peavy is missing a start. He'll in all likelihood be back for his next start. This is hella better than if he "bulldogs" through pain and destroys his back for all eternity and never pitches again.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2013 -> 03:10 PM) Braves have Uggla, he's making way too much money for them to sit down. I listen to XM radio all day at work and if Braves fans had their way, the Braves would trade for a league average 2B and Uggla would become their new DH.

Name Change? Anything else needed?
QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 07:50 AM) Or took on the name "justBLAZE" Can I change my screen name to justBLAZE or would that be too confusing?

Conor Gillaspie
If the White Sox arent going to contend this year (duh) and the Braves are contending, Rik Hon needs to trade Gordon Beckham to the Braves. Braves need a 2B and the Sox need a whole lot of stuff. What would it take from the Braves to make this deal work? Kris Medlen? Mike Minor? Brandon Beachy? All 3?

Gavin Floyd to DL - Out 14-19 months for TJ Surgery
I think the solution for Gavin Floyd is to scale back on all the fapping and focus on pitching. That should solve a few injury AND performance issues.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 12:55 AM) The guy who fired Tony Larussa. He wrote it on his 1975 typewriter and used whiteout for his mistakes. That guy doesn't need whiteout because that guy doesn't make mistakes.

This team is a catastrophe right now
I recently moved out of market and unless I buy the MLB.tv plan, I cannot watch Whitesox games - so, I've got that going for me. Also...

How Much Rope Does Dunn Have?
QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 18, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) I remember him doing that a few times in Spring Training and it worked beautifully. Don't know why he hasn't tried it yet in the regular season. Probably because he isn't facing minor league pitchers anymore. *shrug*

ST: 3/26 vs Rangers
How long into the season will the Sox be when Nate Jones is promoted to closer?

Sox looking at Harang/Lilly/Capuano
As a Dodgers fan that follows that team as closely as I follow the Sox..... none of those 3 are any better than what the Sox already have. I hope the convo goes a little something like this: Hahn: Hey, uh, so as you know one of our guys is down and we might need an extra starter. Colletti: Yea, I heard. That's tough, man. Hahn: Yea, so you wanna give me one of your starting pitchers for free? Seriously, I'm not giving you anything back and you can pay the pitcher's entire contract. Colletti: Well.... Hahn: Dude, seriously none of those three guys have any real surplus value on the trade market. Colletti: But... Hahn: When you signed Harang and Capuano last year, everyone was dumbfounded as to why you'd sign them for more than one year. Colletti: Ok. Take your pick. On a serious not, since I am terrible at rhetoical fake GM trade conversations... Lilly has had trouble staying healthy and there is no sure bet he'd make more than 10-15 starts. Harang isn't very good and since he left the Reds, has benfitted greatly from pitching in the large NL West parks. Capuano is all smoke and mirrors and was pretty bad the second half last year and on the road. Unless the Dodgers are literally giving the Sox a free starting pitcher for nothing in return AND paying their salary, I'ld take my chances with Alexrod or Santiago.
