  1. I think the NL will pick up the DH within the next 20 years.
  2. http://deadsp.in/JRKqt8R This wasn't any of you, was it?
  3. I would love it, but then I live in the Eastern Time Zone.
  4. How about a stadium in Michigan City with the stadium opening to the Chicago skyline??
  5. Do pitchers bat in any of the minor leagues?
  6. It's overreaction to attendance. I don't know if the Sox would consider a suburban site over the current one for their next stadium, but there's no way they leave the area.
  7. Yes, it is, but a AAA team being near the top of the league in attendance does not automatically mean the market is ripe for MLB. There is a big difference in ticket prices, etc. Families of four going to 6-10 AAA games per year are probably scaled back to 1-2 MLB games per year for the same money.
  8. Strength of schedule is way overrated as far as evaluating the strength of basketball teams. There are plenty of schedule-adjusted metrics to evaluate teams, and Louisville was a Top 10 team in most, if not all of them. This isn't football where you have 3-5 one-loss teams that you have to compare against each other for a spot in a Championship game.
  9. Indy may have the market size to support a team, but I don't think it's realistic. Indiana just isn't a baseball state, and you have the Reds pretty close by with the Cubs/Sox also not too far away.
  10. That Mariners deal is also based on the fact that they are the primary team in Oregon, Idaho, and Northern California. That gets split in half if a team moves to Portland.
  11. I expect Abreu to play at least 2 of 3 games. With AGarcia struggling, I don't know whether or not Robin will be tempted to stick Dunn in the OF.
  12. Wynkoop Brewing Co, just a couple blocks from the stadium.
  13. Outside of calling Oakland --> San Jose relocation, there really isn't a viable relocation option out there for teams. The article also neglects to mention the massive cut in TV revenue a Chicago team would suffer moving to Portland. The supposed increase in attendance wouldn't even make a dent in that difference.

    Umps

If this is true, this is to the Sox' advantage. They swing at everything anyway, so more called strikes helps their pitchers more than the opponents'.
  15. Wow, over the years I've had DISH, DirecTV, Comcast, Insight, and Time Warner and all of them have had free previews the first week of the season and the first weekend after the AS Break.
  16. Yes, the seeding was terrible this year. Seeding relies heavily on RPI and RPI relies too much on games from earlier in the year. Kentucky especially is a very different team than the one that lost to weaker teams earlier in the year. Louisville got punished because the bottom half of their conference was so bad.
  17. I only have gameday right now, how does a flyout to CF not score a run? Must have been very shallow.
  18. Friday and Sunday games should be available most places as part of the MLBEI free preview. I've gotten every game so far, though yesterday only the Twins feed was available.
  19. Guerra is not on the 40-man roster. Also, if/when Guerra is called up, he does not have options and can't be sent back down without clearing waivers.
  20. He didn't pitch for Charlotte last night, so I would think he'd be available.
  21. He is very awesome, and you should have gone to jail for assault.
  22. Eaton 8 Semien 4 Gillaspie 5 Abreu 3 Dunn DH AGArcia 9 DeAza 7 Ramirez 6 Flowers 2 Johnson 1
  23. KANSAS CITY - Prior to today’s game at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed reliever Nate Jones on the 15-day disabled list with a muscle strain in his left hip and recalled right-hander Jake Petricka (puh-TRICH-kuh) from Class AAA Charlotte. Petricka, 25, appeared in 16 games with Chicago last season, his first in the major leagues. He went 1-1 with a 3.26 ERA (7 ER/19.1 IP) and 10 strikeouts after making his major-league debut on August 22 at Kansas City. Petricka also was 5-0 with a 1.81 ERA (11 ER/54.2 IP), one save and 58 strikeouts over 31 combined games (one start) between Charlotte and Class AA Birmingham last season. Jones, 28, has appeared in two games this season (4 ER/0.0 IP). He made eight Cactus League appearances after being sidelined for the start of spring with a left glute strain. Jones is 12-5 with a 3.55 ERA (59 ER/149.2 IP), 23 holds and 154 strikeouts over 137 career appearances with the White Sox since 2012. He ranks among the American League relief leaders since 2012 in IP (2nd), wins (T2nd), winning percentage (7th), strikeouts (9th) and games (12th).
