I think it's an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to remove your helmet on the field.

NFL needs to adopt the college rule on hits with/to the head. Get rid of the disclaimer about incidental contact. Also make it reviewable. It sucks that they can replay review the fumble but not the illegal hit that caused it.

Thanks to everybody. We ended up going with a 50/50 split. $4K against the credit cards and $4k against the retirement account loan. This $8k was a windfall, on top of money we are already putting monthly to both debts, plus vacation funds and emergency savings. The credit card debt should be gone in about 9 months and then the extra money can go to the retirement account loan.

OK, financial advice question: I have $8k with which I can pay down some debt. These are the two options I'm considering. 1) Eliminate my nearly $8k in credit card debt. Balance is currently under a 5% balance transfer period that will go up to 19% in a year. Even, if I don't use the $8k for this, I can still probably get 60-80% of the balance paid down by the time the rate goes up in a year. 2) Pay down $8k of my $25k loan against my retirement account. The interest rate is only 2%, but that extra $8k in my retirement account could earn (or lose) significant amounts based on what the markets do. Or I could split the $8k between the two in some way. Any thoughts?

Watched some MLB network last night and they were talking about how this is such a buyers market for OF that teams are just waiting out the players until their demands go down.

Stoops is not on the hot seat at Kentucky. They love him. He won 5 games with really only one of his recruiting classes playing, and he's getting good classes at a school where it's pretty impossible to do that. At ND he could beat out SEC schools for the recruits he's losing to them at Kentucky.

Not sure if any of these would take the job, but: Jon Gruden, Mark Dantonio, Mark Stoops would be the top 3 on my list.

Yet the coach has singlehandedly cost his team several games with poor game management decisions, and he there have been a record number of academic and conduct suspensions under him.

I'd like to see the NFL get rid of conferences. Just have 8 four-team divisions. Division winners get seeded 1-8 and four best wild card teams seeded 9-12. Wild Card round has 5 vs 12, 6 vs 11, 7 vs 10, and 8 vs 9. Re-seed for divisional round so that top seed plays lowest remaining seed, etc. Re-seed again for championship round so that top remaining seed plays lowest remaining seed. If that were in place this year (tiebreakers would be different without conferences but I am applying current tiebreaker system to seed teams): 1 Carolina 2 Arizona 3 Denver 4 New England 5 Cincinnati vs 12 NY Jets 6 Minnesota vs 11 Seattle 7 Houston vs 10 Green Bay 8 Washington vs 9 Kansas City

That happened last year with OSU and Oregon. Before your Spring Semester/January Term begins, there is no limit on practice time. Once it begins, you are limited to 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week. Used to never be a problem because the latest bowls were Jan 2, but now with the Championship game Jan 8 or later, it's going to become more of an issue.
