  1. I think Pierre and Thornton did good. They saved us at least 4 innings. Losing in 9 is better than losing in 13. lol! Oh, well won't lose sleep over this loss. However, it would be nice to beat the Royals. Once in awhile. lol Rowand would have gotten that. lol!
  2. Maybe now is the time to let go of Mark Buehrle. I know that he has been such a consistent starter for us and a great guy. It isn't an easy decision. However, he has looked very bad the last few starts. These starts were on four days rest. He definitely was pitching better earlier in the season and the six man rotation helped him a lot. Maybe this is the point where MB starts to decline. He has thrown a lot of innings and something like that could catch up with him at some point. We also have many young players that we can feel into an open starter spot including another lefty (Sale). And since MB would want to play with STL if White Sox don't sign him back. This would be the perfect opportunity since STL will be looking for starting pitching over the offseason. Not signing Buehrle allows us to extend Danks. And then his spot could be filled by Sale. Thus a rotation would start to form around Sale, Peavy (going to questionable again whole next season), Danks, Floyd, Humber, and Stewart. ..and a few other guys could get a chance.
  3. This sucks. Get ready for 2012 Lil'dude Who can backup Paulie at 1B for the rest of the year. Really hate seeing Dunn on the field. Anybody to call up? Or use Vizquel at 1B sometimes?
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) The Indians really suck and have a ton of injuries. It didn't take a baseball genius to come to the conclusion they would fall back to earth. The Sox should be dominating the AL Central. Hopefully Illich will spend some Tiger money on a couple of Adam Dunn types this coming offseason. Early predictions: White Sox and Tiggs should be competing for 2012 AL Central Division title. PK approaching 30 HRs and 100 Rbis..Amazing season b/c he has had very little protection behind in the lineup the whole year. Imagine if Rios and Dunn hit like they should have hit.
  5. Yes, we are beating the Injuns. Remember their hot start to the season. They have totally gone down since then. I don't know what they are going to be like next year. Probably not that great to average. We are going to have a chance in 2012. Just hope that everybody picks the Tiggs to win the division and that will put less pressure on us.
  6. Somebody made a mistake in the title of this thread. I rechecked my schedule. It is Charlotte Knights @ Rochester Red Wings. Who is your favorite Knight ? De Aza, Flowers, Lucy, Viciedo... actually Rios, Dunn, Beckham should be Knights.
  7. This is weird. I have in my schedule that we are playing the Twins in Minnesota today. But now it looks like we have a game in Rochester. An exhibition game on our day off?
  8. Did we get Rowand yet? If not, invite him to spring training next year.
  9. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 6, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) I like when the Sox beat the Twins. Me too . Win puts us in 2nd place and Twins will stay in last place. Great pitching by us in this series.
  10. A game today. Might as well win it. We can still max out at 93. Cle 94, Det 100. We pushed Twins into last place last night. Let us keep them there. haha!
  11. Nobody wants Rowand. I am thinking. hmmmm. If nobody wants Rowand can we sign him to a minor league contract for the rest of year. Don't put him on the 40 man roster but call him up for the rest of the year? He might suck now but a lot of fan might like to see him play a little bit. Is something like this possible? Give him a chance to audition for a backup outfield position next year which might be open. Considering we might trade Quentin and probably won't resign Pierre. Or would it be better for Rowand to just take the rest of the season off (still being paid nicely by the G's.lol) and get ready for next year and try to find a new team.
  12. I am not sure if any of the names mentioned here are honestly any better overall than Ozzie. Just less controversial. Replacing Greg Walker with Laker to me would be the best first move.
  13. Tie. Keep both of them. In the future we will be comparing the duo Stewart/Humber to a pair like Halladay/Cliff Lee..Well.hopefully.....lol. Both have potential. Humber has overall had the better year this year. Stewart owns the Twins which could give him a team that you can try to have him start against 5-6 times in a season.
  14. Let's win another one. We can still win 93 game. Lets max out
  15. We can still max out at 93 wins! Yes! Let's go get them!
  16. Thank you Maggs. Thanks for Maggsuckage! GIDP! Now score a run or more White Sox!
  17. Well, AJ got a hit. Just fresh off the DL. Det needs to start booting grounders and dropping fly balls. Please.
  18. Going to have to chip away. Start by scoring a run! Or getting a hit or walk. lol! Hoping for some bad Det defense.
  19. Looks like Danks has come down with the Peavies. It is a very contagious disease that affects 1st inning performance.
  20. Wow, the Tiggs only have to throw us 6 pitches that inning. What, we are going to see 54 pitches this game? Better hit a couple in the seats then .And I don't mean foul. lol!
  21. We have scored runs in our last two meeting against Verlander. Thus, all Danks has to do is throw a complete game shutout and we should be in good shape. Right? lol! I will take a win today in any shape, form, or dimension. 1-0, 11-0, 11-10. Don't care. Just win! We need to win this series to keep some hope alive. Right now 4 back in the loss column, going for 3 back.
  22. Konerko could wind up with some better numbers than Thomas. This could be an interesting debate...who is/was a better player? Konerko is still a work in progress if you are comparing the two...but... Career Hits: PK: 2008, FT: 2468 Career Average: PK: .283 FT: .301 Career HRS: PK: 393 FT: 521 Career RBIs: PK: 1248 FT: 1704 Career Rs : PK: 1003 FT: 1494 Career OBP: PK: .359 FT: .419 Career Slugging: PK: .502 FT: .555 Konerko would have to play at least 4-5 more years to catch Thomas in some of these departments like HRs, RBIs. He has a good chance of getting more hits than Frank (maybe 2 1/2 - 3 years away?). Also have to think about defense and other intangibles. Speed...Thomas is faster and 32 SB to PK's 9. lol!
  23. How about Peavy for Rowand? Peavy $17M next year Rowand $12M next year Probably won't get much out of either player in 2012. However, I rather throw money at Rowand than at Peavy. Getting rid of Peavy opens another spot for young pitcher. Could have a rotation of Buehrle, Danks, Floyd, Humber, Sale and groom Stewart to be insurance/future starter. $5 million difference though. Maybe Giants want to get rid of another player. We could throw in $2.5M (split the difference)..and thus we would save $2.5M (cost cutting)...lol! This wouldn't work..I don't think. Maybe have to be more creative. Too bad they don't still have Uribe on their team. Funny that Rowand and AJ both had bad experiences in SF, except Rowand got another ring and more money. lol! Good for Rowand...I guess.
  24. Tiggs don't have much starting pitching beside Verlander & Fister (I won't beside I am a gentleman). Tiggs don't have much relief pitching beside Valverde & AlAl (think that he is on DL). Don't give up on the Tiggs tanking it quite yet. lol! Still plenty of time.
  25. Vizquel did get a walk, thus cannot say that was a bad decision. Beckham isn't really lighting things up. The pinch running thing didn't really matter. But that wasn't the worst decision. Paulie is slow and coming off an injury ..thus he is super slow. Need somebody who could score from first on a double (2 outs so runner going with pitch). And you don't want to use one of your better pitchers like Buehrle or Danks to pinch run. However, with Rios at the plate and striking out...well I could have been the pinch runner is that situation. loL! Rios really should be batting 7th. Even TCM would be a better choice in the clean up position but I like the Tank there ..giving also Konerko some protection. I thought that they were going to pitch around PK in the ninth. That is what I would have done. He was the tying run at that point.
