Indy sounds like they could be adding Andre Johnson and Frank Gore. That'll be a scary offense.

QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 10, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) as a player, i hope he is ok. he was a good pitcher and competitor. Always seemed like he was a class act dude as well

I'd like to see the Bears draft someone like Brett Hundley and develop him for a year or two.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) Cliff Lee is also having James Andrews look at his elbow results. Yikes that's never good. Phillies as an organization are really a mess right now.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) @PaulKuharskyNFL With apologies to those certain of something else, the #Titans are not trading for Jay Cutler. ESPN 1000 @ESPN1000 29m29 minutes ago According to @ESPNChiBears on @WaddleandSilvy, Jay Cutler was in the building last week working with Adam Gase and the new playbook. At least he's trying… LOL

Swapping 3/2s and getting rid of that contract is a huge win

Nate Jones targeting All Star Break return

I'll consider us lucky if 1/3 of albers, crain, and jones make substantial contributions to the team this year. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 03:23 PM) From all reports he struggles with command on his fastball and at times his slider. That said, his stuff is electric and he doesn't need Cliff Lee's command and control to contribute this year. I'd be more curious as to what his fastball is sitting at. If it's 93-95, hell yea. 91-93 would be a little concerning, but it's early in spring. I wouldn't read much into where his fastball is at right now. -

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) Padres announcer, referring to Rodon after the third K: "This guy. Is. Nasty." I love hearing that from opposing broadcasts. -
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) And I think our best reliever from last year deserves to be in our bullpen as well... Petricka also has a good amount of potential to develop even further.

3/5 ST: White Sox vs Dodgers 2pm MLB Network

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) There were several posts way beyond that, and you know it. I am not bothered by someone pointing out some player looks good, but it is March 5. The regular season doesn't start for a month. These games mean nothing. My post was directed at the fact that if a player far exceeds expectations, then chances of winning are increased. I worded it incorrectly as a cause/effect relationship, which was not the point of the post. Assumptions weren't made based on one day of baseball at all. Enjoy it, its 5 degrees here and we're watching baseball. No harm in dreaming a little bit too, as this game is meant to be fun. -
If he does that, the sox are division champs and probably one of the favorites in the playoffs. I still think he needs a year or so and that he'll be closer to .260/.315 with ~18 HR

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 18, 2015 -> 12:22 PM) I think Samardzija is more valuable than Upton too, plus the Sox got Michael Ynoa. Generally, I think we underrate Josh Phegley and the thought around the industry may be that his ultimate ceiling is that of an averagish catcher in the majors, while Semien's upside is that of an above average player. I can't see Phegley being a useful MLB player. His defensive shortcomings were bad. He also seemed to be very soft mentally.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 05:43 AM) I really don't know what you can take away from the very first meaningless game in spring training. Good or bad. Defense is something that translates from spring. Obviously hits are a lot of times meaningless, but its nice to see the players have some great energy.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) 2015 ZiPS 119 544 8 58 44 31 5.9 % 18.9 % .104 .302 .253 .299 .357 .292 82 -1.1 -12.0 -1.0 WAR:0.5 2015 ZiPS 135 582 6 57 44 15 5.3 % 17.9 % .086 .301 .253 .297 .340 .284 76 0.2 -15.0 8.1 WAR: 1.3 You guess who's who and whose side I'm on. Sox need defense more than stolen bases. Sanchez is the obvious, save choice for a team that thinks they are contending. Let Micah bang the wall down in AAA by going 300/380/500 through June with 30 SB. If that happens and Sanchez is no great shakes then yea, f***ing promote the dude. I'm not even saying ZIPS is better than the Sox' judgement if they think he's the man than fine. Just don't do it on 80 or so almost meaningless spring PA. micah adds a different element to the game which is really important. sanchez is likely not going to amount to more than a utility player.
