  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 17, 2014 -> 03:47 AM) If he keeps the average and OBP from the second half with his power from the first half, he'll have one of the most legendary seasons. I'd gladly take 25-30 HR with him hitting the way he is the 2nd half, than 1st half with 40 HR.
  2. We aren't trading Sale. /thread.
  3. thinking of dropping Mike Evans for James Jones and T-rich for Knile Davis thoughts? ppr. I have khiry robinson on my bench already and want to keep bishop sankey.
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Sep 15, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) Played RGIII and still can win with 12 points from Ertz in a ppr. My other league I actually have to root for a kicker, need 6 from Vinitieri. Good luck, hopefully all goes well. I had it easy this week, as my opponent had both AJ green and RG3. I likely would have beaten him though anyway. Encouraged by this week's Zac Stacy performance, hopefully he can keep it up.
  5. QUOTE (daggins @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 06:02 PM) I like that Hawkins numbers improved, but most of the in person scouting i've read this season tells me he still can't recognize breaking pitches. I have a feeling he is going to struggle badly next season. Davidson is obviously way down, Barnum down, Trayce slightly down (only improved slightly repeating a level, still young) Beck, Ravelo, Engel pretty much neutral M. Johnson, Michalczewski, Danish up substantially thats 10, but not the top ten. Not trying to make this another Ravelo thread, but i'd say his was significantly up, as he doubled his prior HR totals and then some.
  6. Snodgress was unimpressive but he still needs time in the minors. Sanchez looks like he could be the starting 2B next year.
  7. I'd really like to see paulie hit a HR in the last home stand. I love the guy and he deserves that type of exit.
  8. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 1, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Everyone shouldn't be suprised the Sox weren't going to get him. It was talk and nothing more. No luck there. The real luck was when the Sox outbid the Cubs on that one Jap player and he chose the Cubs. I'd say it was a little more than talk since they did offer him a contract, but they were blown away by the yankees.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) Georgia was impressive to me. Georgie looked great. Their defense played with a lot of energy and had a good amount of talent. That run offense though......
  10. no chance his number is retired. if anything, they'll trot him out, give him an applause and onto the game we go.
  11. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 10:30 PM) That's got to be Montas' lowest K outing ever. Rodon is walking too many. Still has plenty of minor league work to do. As I recall, a lot of people were touting Goldberg at the start of the season as future closer. What happened to him? Likely due to mechanics adjustments that the sox have made. But I agree, he does need more work.
  12. QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 30, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) The Sox might just be demoting Bassitt after the game, then promoting him again Sept 1 (like what's going to happen to Carroll). Might just be a little hat tip to the season Wilkins has had by bringing him up a day early. press release on sox website said bassitt will stay with the team the rest of the year.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 11:28 AM) Keeper league 1st choice. Marshawn Lynch or Dez Bryant? ppr? if its a keeper i'd probably go Dez. Lynch's years are numbered, i'm expecting a drop this season.
  14. QB: Luck RB: D. Murray A. Ellington WR:C. Johnson , A. Jeffery TE: Reed Flex: Garcon D: AZ K: Crosby T.Richardson, Mike Wallace, B Sankey, K. Robinson, Mike Evans, Cecil Shorts, Tavon Austin 10 man ppr
  15. How many times can you dodge a bullet with Avi getting HBP? You have to believe that RH is taking notice by now.
  16. Maybe Avi's heading to meet up with the team lol.
  17. I'm starting to get real excited about the pitching we have in the minors.
  18. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) The fact that we are giving Beckham ABs while major-league-ready Semien wastes his time in Charlotte is the most asinine decision Hahn ever made. I personally don't understand why Beckham, Dunn and De Aza all continue to get ABs.
  19. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:09 AM) Awesome. Maggs, imo, correctly defined the group of our high-end potential starters as Rodon, Adams, Montas and Danish. We need at least two of these guys to be studs to fulfill our multiple WS fantasies. Ya gotta like that we're getting the youngsters throwing quality changes at the lower levels. Both Montas and Danish have seemingly refined theirs this season to the point where they're considered plus offerings, and this has elevated their profiles greatly. The GIF of Montas' changeup from sometime in May was one of the finest things I've seen all year - up there with Arianny Celeste. If two of them become studs along with Sale/Q, this franchise will be making MANY playoff appearances.
  20. Noesi needs to make that play, absolutely unacceptable.
  21. Sale. Pitchers like him are extremely hard to find, and usually demand massive contracts. Thank the lord that is no decision we have to make however, we are extremely lucky to have both.
  22. As a previous poster suggested, the bullpen is one of the final pieces that you address. There was no reason to make any substantial commitments going into a year where many thought we would be still far from competing. With that said, RH is not the one throwing meatballs that get launched out of the park. Injuries to your 2 main bullpen pieces with one bad luck signing will put nearly any bullpen in the MLB into a bad situation.
  23. Dodgers missed on Lackey too. Last minute desperation call to the sox?
