    LOST!!!!

My brain hurts. I agree on the Ellie / Ms. Hawking theory though.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) I think Olney's trying to say the Cubs would now trade Marshall, who is someone that the Padres would want more than any of the other guys. Young pitching is prob want the Pads want more than anything. Still you stick an average SP into PETCO, he's probably going to do pretty well.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 12:52 AM) Saw Lauren Graham on Letterman tonight. I didn't really know who she was other than the fact she was in the Gilmore Girls (which I didn't even watch), and I still don't know anymore about her now, but damn! Girl turns 42 in March and looks absolutely amazing for that age. I had no idea until I just now wikipedia'd her how old she was, I'd have guessed she is in her late 20's based on how she looked on Letterman (and I was watching in HD too). I know a lot of these people have some amazing techniques in Hollywood to defy age, but most of them are pretty obvious. Not in this case. I still remember here from the Speed Dial episode from Seinfeld. "Seinfeld, you magnificent bastard!!!!" She does look very good for her age though indeed.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 07:03 AM) Another thing i noticed last night was when Faraday's group was captured the little blond looked and him and said "You just couldn't stay away could you?" and never went back to that. Lost sin't the type of show to have throw away lines so that line leaves me a bit curious. I think maybe....just maybe that the blonde (i think her name was Elle) is a young Mrs. Faraday. she probably recognized her son but then covered it when she realized her son didn't recognize her. Then again...i did have a couple beers last night so I could be way off. Well if you remember at the start of episode 1 of the season, Faraday was in the Orchid Station with Dr. Chang, so he's definitely been on the island before somehow. I was flipping out when Widmore said who he was on the Island. Very, very interesting plot twist there.

    Laptop upgrade

It depends on what you most want from a laptop. Do you want something with excellent performance that runs smoothly and quickly? Do you want something with excellent multimedia features? It also depends on how much you're willing to spend.
  6. If you sign someone like Hossa as well, you might as well just give up on a player such as Jack Skille. Keep developing the youth.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Garland gets $6 million with a $2.5 million buyout and a mutual option for $10 million next year. $8.5 million for one year or $16 million for 2. Not bad for him. That's a pretty generous buyout I would have thought. I think he's done well also.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 03:50 PM) I feel like his name has come up in trade rumors quite a few times but the Knicks are hesitant to do anything that would involve them taking on any dollars past the end of 2010. The Knicks have been trying to find a good big man for years, and they shouldn't let go of one who averages a double-double and shoots 57% from the floor. I could definitely see him and Stoudemire playing together as well.
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) The same reason they put his Gargoyle of a sister in Batman and used lines like "Hello Beautiful". Hell Heath should get the Oscar just for that type of acting. I watched Dark Knight in IMAX and had to deal with a 30 foot version of her sad clown face. You could of picked up random actresses that would of been better. She still put in a better performance than Katie Holmes though (JMO).

    Superbowl Food

I'll be eating at a Superbowl Party somewhere in Manhattan. Either a Buffet at the Red Lion, or Wings at a couple of other places.
  11. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 03:18 PM) He has Tyrus as the PF of the present/future and the Bulls trading for a starting PF... To be fair, David Lee could probably play as a C, even though he's not all that great defensively. I think he's a keeper for the Knicks though.
  12. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) speaking of which I'd LOVE to see the Sox take a chance with Ben Sheets. I think all of us would, but right now, the Sox are pretty much on their payroll limits. If they could trade Dye for prospects, sign a RF to replace him for half the price, and then sign Sheets on a 1 year deal, with major incentives, then that's something I'd like to see em do. Right now, I don't know where Sheets is going to end up. The Rangers most likely, but Nolan Ryan wants their SP's to be able to throw a lot of innings, and I'm not sure Sheets can do that for a whole season. The Mets just signed Garcia, and are likely to re-sign Perez it seems.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 10:57 AM) On the Fight Night topic, watching boxing for the most part does bore me, but I do love that game. And it only is a 3-4 round knockout with the heavy weights. If you go middleweights or something the fight very easily can go the distance. Unless you're Turtle and lose in 2 seconds to a little kid. MLB Front Office Manager came out yesterday to mediocre reviews, got a 6.6 rating from IGN. I'll prob still check it out though on the PC. I'm also going to get me one of those Gateway Laptops from Best-Buy for about $1100, that comes with 4GB RAM, 9800 Video Card, and about 320GB in hard drive space. Figure that will fill my gaming needs for a few years.
  14. Chase Field is quite the hitters park also. I wouldn't be surprised if Garland ended up with an ERA in the high 4's, even though he's moving to the NL. He'll give you 200IP still though.
  15. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 01:54 PM) I may be in the minority but I still believe the Cubs will land Peavy. All this move does is allow the Cubs (who have about 14 bullpen pitchers for 7 spots) to send Samardijza down to AAA this year to work on becoming a starter for 2010 (they won't re-sign Harden and Lilly will be in his final year of his contract in 2010). The difference between the Roberts rumors last year and the Peavy rumors this year is the O's didn't have to trade Roberts where as the Pads have to cut their payroll by $30 mil. To be honest I think a deal is already in place and as soon as the new owner becomes official, it will be done. I think Peavy's a goner also, but I'm hoping that another team other than the Cubs may jump in on the bidding, but that's prob unlikely ATM. Sad for the Padres how much that franchise has dropped in the past couple of seasons also. Welcome aboard to Soxtalk as well.
  16. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Boxing just has not been the same since the retirement of Mr T. Drago didn't float your boat there ranger? "I Must Break You"
  17. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 12:02 PM) NO WAY You meant to say: Boxing >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ufc Ah yeah my bad. I love having HBO and watching all of the best fights of 2008 over again though. Pacquiao demolishing De La Hoya (which was quite sad to see what Oscar has become) for example. Really looking forward to Hatton vs. Pacquiao also.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) I hardly ever answer my house phone. I used to, but my wife took over my phone and lost 2 of the 3 so it's not worth the effort. If you really want to talk to me either call the cell or send me e-mail. Me too. Well not at the moment. Because I live with an Indian Girl, and instead of calling her on her mobile for $1 a day (unlimited calls), they're so cheap that they have to call on our house phone 10 times a day. So I just let the machine get it. Or I tell em to F*CK off when she's not around and I have to answer it.
  19. I snore really badly when drunk apparently.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 11:41 AM) I forgot the one thing that is number one on my list....people that chew with their mouth open. I havent ate dinner with my dad in years because of this, you can hear every chunk of food moving around in his mouth. People trying to talk with food in their mouth also. Chew and Swallow People!!
  21. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 05:35 AM) -People who act like idiots when they're around people of the same nationality. For example, there's an Irish bar in Chicago Ridge called Jack Desmonds that I sometimes go to for adult beverages. EVERY TIME I've been in there I've had to deal with drunken micks who act obnoxious, loud, and seem to think because they're parents are off the boat it gives them an excuse to act belligerent. If you're asking yourself, "how do you know who's Irish," that's easy -- they're usually wearing some rugby or soccer jersey from a foreign team, singing a song from the Emerald Isle, and they can't be above 5'9. They're like leprechauns. I'm half Irish and all, but these are the idiots that make me want to vomit with rage. I know SouthSideIrish71 despises these people as well, and if he says it about his own kind then that's all I need to hear. You wouldn't have liked me last night (being in a bar with 300 other Aussies on Australia Day) then.
  22. Boxing > UFC. Well that's me after seeing Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones live at least.
  23. People who don't know where they are, and ask people like me expecting me to take them wherever.
  24. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) And by room-mate of course you mean yourself. He actually got about 10 for about $3 which is decent enough.
