QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2009 -> 10:53 AM) As I said before, he's a serious headcase. He's still young and has a lot of time to work out the kinks, but he really needs to get his s*** together. I worked for the Bees out in SLC last summer and got to see a lot of Adenhart. Definitely talented, but was never able to stop big innings from happening. He was also terrible after coming back down from his brief major league stint. And none of this matters because the people in that organization are in love him with. I'd be shocked if they gave him up in a deal for another OF. Was there anyone else on the Bees who caught your eye Felix FWIW?

Wonder if we could possibly get Nick Adenhart in a deal. His stock went down last season as he was terrible in AAA (Salt Lake City). If you could trade Dye for Figgins and Adenhart, and then sign Abreu to replace Dye, I think that's a move you certainly have to make.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) Like a funeral. They all blame Eli. But most fans seem to tip their hats off to the Eagles. Without Plaxico Burress, Eli's simply a mediocre QB. I still love seeing him him on all of the Toyota ads and a few more in the NY/NJ area though. Perfect timing.

Some good points here from Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld;

Amazing how all of the teenagers from 4-5 years ago on here have grown up in the 22-25 bracket now.

Right I've decided to trade my Wii in for $$$ since I don't play it that often anymore, and I'm not likely to take it home. How much would I get for it at Gamespot?

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 11:44 AM) Is there any evidence at this point that Miller is better than Gooden? I guess he would be a better defender against centers, but I'm not sure he's that much of an upgrade other than that. What's his contract situation? I think his contract ends at the end of next season IIRC, and he makes about 9-10M. Ideally, you would play Gooden at PF and Miller at C, but to get Miller, unless the Bulls would do Miller and Kenny Thomas for Larry Hughes and sometihng else, they'd probably have to give up Gooden to do so.

Freddy Garcia speculation (Closed - Garcia Signs W/Mets)
DBAHO replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Freddy would obviously have to show us that he is completely healthy, and can reach at least the high 80's, if not more, velocity wise. But I'd probably rather go with him to at least start the season, than say Marquez or Poreda. Those 2 probably need more time in AAA, hence why Garcia could be a good stop-gap option. -
Just FWIW, what type of contract do you think Abreu is going to have to settle for? Something in the Milton Bradley range, or the Pat Burrell range? Because if you could trade Dye, and sign Abreu for a 2/16 deal, I'd be all over that. Unfortunately, from the sounds of it, Bobby wants a bit more $$$$.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) How the f*** do you lose to OKC. I swear to god stop playing anyone who doesn't have a future. I don't give a s*** about the 8th seed...get Thabo/Tyrus/Rose developed and keep boosting up Gordon's trade value and hopefully restore Dengs. That should be the Bulls priority. I love Drew Gooden too but I'd probably move him since he would be very valuable to another team and the Bulls are clearly a ways away (unless they plan on resigning him). Bulls are in trouble right now. I doubt they make the playoffs, and with players like Rose and Deng on your team, they argubly should in the East. Like I said before, this time next season, I don't think VDN will be around. If they wanted to make the playoffs this season, they'd trade Gooden and Thabo for Brad Miller, and possibly move Hinrich for something at the deadline. On another note, the Magic beat the Spurs in San Antonio to sweep the season series against them. The team is firing on all cylinders right now, and we're above Boston. The #1 seed in the East is certainly there for the taking.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 11, 2009 -> 04:51 PM) They just started the "hit and run" angle with Hardy and his fiancee, so that will play out over the next few weeks. Christian is slated at this point to be behind the hit and run. My guess is Christian interferes in the match b/w Hardy and Edge at the Rubmle, costing Hardy the title, and setting up the 2 month feud before Wrestlemania.

Subotic is very good in Football Manager 2009 (don't know why I bring that up, but I did). Serbia also has those 2 youngsters Tosic and Llanic IIRC, that Man United just signed. Vidic is argubly the best center back in the world today.

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 02:15 PM) Games like this are where it would be nice to have a legit heavyweight on the team. Ben Eager's the closest thing I guess. I'd like to dump Craig Adams though, and acquire a 4th line RW who can protect Kane, Toews and Versteeg, if that guy is available.
-
Will be interesting to see if the Yotes target Versteeg tonight.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 6, 2009 -> 01:05 AM) After his sack totals, then what? How many forced fumbles did he have this season FWIW? I'm biased and will say that he deserved to win, but Harrison was a deserving winner nonetheless.
-
Bradley for 3/30 or Burrell for 2/16? Even though Burrell's streaky, and he's moving away from Citizens, he should still hit around 25HR's a season for the Rays.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 5, 2009 -> 08:10 AM) Not really sure where to put this, but I just started watching Entourage last week because I've always heard how awesome of a show it is. Anyway, I've watched Seasons 1-3 in the last week, and will be starting on Season 4 tomorrow. Those were the only seasons I bought, though, because I heard Season 5 was bad. Anyway, I just wanted to say that this show is awesome. Absolutely hilarious, mainly Johnny Drama. "Not in my town... Not in any of my 5 towns." VICTORY!!!!! Anyways, I had a very scary situation last night. I was basically out with a big group having brunch and getting pretty drunk. It was getting pretty late, and I was sitting at the bar. The next minute, I'm sitting in an ambulance with a mate. Apparently, I walked off down the street without tellin anyone, my mate ran after me, and accidently tripped me from behind, and I fell head first onto the sidewalk, and I wasn't getting up. So he callled an ambulance, and I ended up in the Emergency Room, sitting there for 3 hours until someone finally came and saw us, and all I needed was a big bandage for the gash on my head, no stitches or anything. But right now writing this, I have grazes all over the right side of my body, my right hip is very sore, and I still feel a bit dizzy / concussed. EDIT: OH and my Camera and Phone are both broken (well the phone screen is, and I have a warranty on my camera). I'm also a bit worried at how much the whole thing is going to cost (apparently I gave them my bank card, and my insurance card).

I honestly thought Jason's account had been hacked when I read this last night.

Well I think Huet's been pretty good over the past month, and yesterday was only 1 bad game. It's not like the conditions helped either goalie much at all yesterday. I think you still try to Khabibulin if you can, because he's not going to be around next season, and I think yesterday showed while the Hawks are on the up, they still have more work to do. If you can get some future assets for Khabi at the deadline, I'd still do it, because even with him, I don't think we can beat either Detroit or San Jose in the West.
-
For 3 unnamed players apparently. Wonder who the Cubs got in that deal? Would be at least 1 decent prospect you would have thought. I think they're selling high on DeRosa though, which is a smart move on their part. Miles won't replace his offense though.
-
So Bulls vs. Magic to kick off in 15 or so. Should be an interesting game. Nelson's been hindered with a foot injury lately, so Rose has a chance for a good game. I imagine that Courtney Lee will get the job on Ben Gordon for most of the 2nd half. Dwight vs. Gray is a mismatch of all proportions. Good chance for a 20/20 game I'd say.

I see people overseas wearing White Sox hats all the time. It's only for the style and not because they actually support the team.

Yeah we've got those DUI ads coming on all the time too. I love the cop's line of questioning; "Excuse me Sir, have you been drinking tonight?" I don't know if it's an American Thing or not, but back home, there's no way that a cop would call me "sir". If anything, it'd be the other way round.

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) Chris Snyder just signed an extension with the DBacks, so he is unlikely to be traded now. 3 years with a 4th year option bringing the deal to 20M. Probably makes Montero available now.
