Really been in the news worldwide over the past few weeks. The torch was in London yesterday, and they had security and police surrounding each torch holder, and yet protestors still got through. And now Jacques Rogge has come out and said this; So are people in support of boycotts for the upcoming Olympics?

I agree.

Well I've finally seen Ace now, and it only took about 4-5 years. I'm currently growing a beard ATM (and I know SnB loves those). But many of you have already seen what I look like.

You know things are going well when even Mike MacDougal can pitch 2 scoreless innings of relief for you. Offensively, we've really heatened up over the past few days. A.J, Dye and Crede have had great starts to the season, and Swisher is getting on base in the leadoff spot. And the bullpen has done well for the most part so far this season.

Vazquez (0-1) vs. Blackburn (0-1): HOME OPENER!

Well we've got a little streak going, and let's continue it. I think this'll probably be more of a low scoring series, so the Sox have got to get those timely hits when they get RISP, and keep playing good defense (which they have probably done for the majority thus far). The next 2 series' could really set up our season nicely if we can stay hot. Win 4 or 5, and we'll have won 8 or 9 out of our 1st 12. -
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 6, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) This place sucks when the Sox are losing, but goes crazy when they do well. Case in point, Rally Crede. One of the most retarded things - ever - and it will forever go down in ST lore. Needless to say, we've got about as emotional control around here as an 8th grade girl who's unsure about her relationship. Yeah I think you've hit the nail on the head there. And it even showed after our 1st 2 losses, compared to our last 3 wins, this place is a lot better when the team is winning, and hopefully they can do that this season. But we'll try and increase the quality discussions we have here, I think we've dropped off from that over the past season or 2, and unfortunately this place hasn't been the better for it. Because there are a LOT of intelligent Sox fans here, and that's why we're here, to talk baseball (and other stuff of course).

I too think Alexei should be down at AAA, when Owens comes back. He needs AB's to adjust to breaking balls etc. If Quentin keeps hitting, it's going to be very hard to keep him out of the lineup. And Swisher has been holding down the fort fairly well in CF. An Owens / Quentin platoon is what I think we'll still end up with (with them rotating in CF / LF with Swisher from time to time depending on who's playing).

Well it's nice to have a little streak going, we win tomorrow, we're 4-2 after road trips at Cleveland and Detroit, I think anybody here would have taken that before the start of the season. Gavin has always pitched well in Detroit, so I was confident of a good performance from him today. He provides that sort of line on a regular basis, this team will probably finish above .500 IMHO. 8 walks was really good as well, albeit Willis was very wild today. In 18 AB's so far, Swisher has 8BB's and 4 K's in the leadoff spot. And Dye's had a fantastic start to the season, hopefully he's in for a good productive season. Oh and once again, scoreless innings in relief. I cannot stress how important that is for this team. Logan, Linebrink and Jenks, well done.

Anyone else see that Jeff DaVanon is playing for Charlotte also;

QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) It depends on what his problem right now is. For all we know, we f***ed him up mentally by sending him down. Or, he is pissed and trying to crush everything. But I don't know since I can't see the game... But, I think he should have been the starting 3B from day one. Also, I wouldn't say Crede has done well so far either. Crede has an OPS of .863 currently. If that's not doing well so far, I don't know what is for him offensively.
-
If Fields can't hit minor league pitching ATM BearSox does he deserve to be in the majors? And he didn't almost call it quits, that was blown way out of proportion. Crede has done pretty well for us thus far.

Here was the Bears' pick at Mocking The Draft;

Well for me, how nice is it to have 4 scoreless innings of relief. This type of game last season, we would not have won. It shows how important it is to have an Octavio Dotel or a Scott Linebrink out there instead of a Jason Grilli. Count wasn't good at all, but he kept us in the game. Offensively wise, the bats have really woken up over the past 2 games. My man Quentin is showing what he's capable of (I loved the LF - Quentin, CF - Swisher lineup), Swisher had 3 BB's, while A.J's been on fire. Good, good win today.
-
I'm really looking forward to facing Dontrelle the most. I hope Ozzie looks at the stats, and just loads the lineup with righties against him.
-
Good read about the off-season;

Robertson had a step back last season after a break-thru 2006. Tigers haven't had a good start to the season, so let's keep piling the misery on them. Let's go Sox!!!!

Hmm;
-
Krivsky will trade him soon for a backup infielder who's dynamite in the field and an average reliever. But no, Cueto's going to be good.

Needs more hair Rowand.

I don't know about Hossa over Campbell still. I'd still like to sign Campbell if possible. He'll play 30mins a night for you, and give you that much needed offensive PP D-Man that this team is crying out for. It would also allow for the Hawks to deal a D-Man if they wanted to. I mean Campbell has 18 points in 18 games for the Sharks, imagine having that type of production for us for a D-Man. But he could get $9M a season. The Hawks need to determine whether or not that's the way they want to go. There were also rumors of the Kings possibly dealing Cammalleri and Dallas's 1st rounder to try and move up in the draft. Would you be interested in something like that (Camm has 3.6M left for 1 season).
