Well it was fun while it lasted. Hope we can hang onto the 10th pick now.

Fantastic first start for Danksy. He's shown what he's capable of now, the key will be how he fares against teams such as Cleveland again when they have seen him (especially the new cutter). Not much offense, but clutch HR's from Uribe and Crede were enough to get the job done. Big win, allowing us to avoid the sweep, and to go to Detroit, who haven't started off the season well either (getting swept by KC at home, ouch). Will be an interesting series.

Some very witty game thread titles so far. We need a good outing here to avoid the sweep. Let's go Sox!!!!

That Was Not As Good Of A Game... The Semi-Positive Postgame Thread

A.J and Dye have started off well. But it also shows how important it is for Swisher and O-Cab to produce and get on base. When they don't like today, we're going to struggle, as our bottom half of the order in Ramirez - Crede - Uribe really doesn't look that good right now. I'd get either BA or Quentin into the lineup tomorrow. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:48 PM) Isn't this a guy that some people on here wanted the Sox to go after? Yeah that will have been me. I think he'll have better numbers than Linebrink this season. -

Would like to see Quentin or BA pinch hit for Uribe but that ain't gonna happen. -
Yep great start so far, getting Hasek out of the game. Keep it going Hawks! Barker also has 14 points in his past 26 games. That's a good sign he's starting to get it.

Some home town calls this series so far. Bottom half of the order really doesn't look good ATM though. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:25 PM) He doesn't seem to throw his sinking fastball anymore. He's basically 75 pct slider, and 25 pct fastball up. And KW loves relievers with the sinking fastball, one of the main reasons why he signed Linebrink. Wonder why Mac just doesn't throw that pitch anymore? -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 12:23 PM) Jermaine Dye. At least Dye put up excellent numbers post 07 ASB break though. I'm not really too worried by him ATM. -

Crede had his injury, Sweeney's power just never came on yet (Jeremy Reed v2.0). Mac has just flat out been terrible over the past season and a bit. And it's so annoying because he was so dominating when he first came over. If he could pitch like that again, it would make our pen so much better. And this outing wasn't even a high pressure situation for him. -

Mac has 2 more outings to prove himself, otherwise he should be down in AAA with Wasserman back up. Has 1 player really decreased in stock as much as MacDougal has since the end of 2006? -
Mr. Baseball, Major League and The Sandlot Kids. Major League 2 wasn't any good except for Jack Parkman. Weird seeing Omar Epps from 10-15 years ago now. Oh and the Randy Quaid fan character. "Wild Thing! Mr Choke Thing! You make everything embarrassing!" "I'd knew you'd wimp out Mild Thing. You've got no heart. And forget genatalia, you're a gelding Vaughn, they had you fixed!"

I'm thinking this will be a more low scoring matchup for sure. Let's pick up the win this time. Go Sox!!! -
Saw the Magic vs. Hornets today. CP3 was terrible for 3 quarters, and then got hot on the pick and roll in the 4th. If Dwight came out to guard him, he'd throw alley oops to Chandler, otherwise he'd shoot little jumpers. Need better defensive play at the G spots still. And someone who can rebound besides Dwight.

April Fools Day Thread: Joe Crede and Nick Masset dealt to SF
DBAHO replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So knight, tell us a little bit about John Bowker please. -
Well that's good, he's making headway there. And hopefully with him spending more etc. and Hilary making some errors e.g Bosnia, that margin continues to fall. A win for Obama would effectively knock Hilary out probably, but even a close win won't really do Clinton much good in terms of the overall delegate numbers.
-
Our PM had a face to face meeting with Hilary yesterday, going to meet McCain today I believe, but he's only going to give Obama a phone call (and Hilary is his preferred candidate). Stupid, stupid man.

That Was a Good Game... The Positive Postgame Thread
DBAHO replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We scored 8 runs. Do that every game, and we'll do very well this season. We also drew 5 walks which was nice. Dye looked good, going 3 for 4 with a HR. I'm not concerned about him after his slow spring. Masset actually pitched a good outing. That's the benchmark for him now. If he pitches like that, he'll become very valuable for us as a longman especially with the likes of Floyd and Danks in our rotation. Thome hit 2 HR's off lefties. You don't see that very often. Boone had a nice outing. We basically got screwed by the umps, and were unlucky not to win. We also got Sabathia out of the game after 5.1IP, and 100 pitches. Seems as if we are taking opposing pitches deeper into counts this season hopefully. So there's some good things we can look at.
