  1. Long - term, I don't know if he's a starter. I see him more as a Varejao energy guy off the bench, who will still be extremely valuable mind you. I think the Bulls need to hope this guy falls to them in the draft. http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profiles/brooklopez.html
  2. Gettin Brian Campbell has made them favorites right now. The only question mark on them is how Nabokov will go in the playoffs. He shows up, I think they win it all.
  3. Interesting words from KW about BA's struggles before; Doesn't that just sound like Aaron Rowand?
  4. Well obviously the plan is for Crede to play, and the Sox dump him by the deadline. I agree that this situation hasn't been that well handled though. And if there's an injury, Fields will surely get an opportunity. And he can work on some things in AAA (e.g making he makes better contact, walks more and strikes out less)
  5. I think Cristobal Huet is showing he's not a system goalie either, .937 Save % in 6 games with the Caps. Doubt he hits FA, but I'd make him a 3 year / 15M offer if he hits, and then trade Khabibulin if he signs, with Crawford as the backup.

    LOST!!!!

Pretty sure the whole thing was Ben's idea all along. He wants Karl out of the picture because he doesn't want Alex getting pregnant on the island. And taking Rousseau out makes Ben the only family Alex has left. So somehow he would have communicated with the "others" at the Temple to take those 2 out by sniper fire. Kind of like how Juliet was told to stop Daniel and Charlotte. Maybe it has something to do with the smoke mosnter, I don't know. Don't think it was anyone from the freighter (unless somehow Frank the pilot flew some more guys in, is the only theory I could think of there).
  7. Well a nice outing for Floyd today, albeit against a pretty weak offensive team. Hopefully that's the type of pitcher we see when the season starts. I'd also like to see Bourgeois make the team over Uribe (if you could trade Juan, with Ramirez as the backup SS option).
  8. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) I am just wondering if there is a chance for Bourgeois to get shot for 2b? That was my thought as well. Bourgeois is a switch hitter I think? (might be wrong). So you could maybe have a situation where you have Ozuna and Bourgeois platoon at 2nd, and then you work Ramirez in there a little, and also at SS and CF (as the mega utility man). Uribe to the O's is still what I see happening. Although teams such as the Royals, Dodgers etc. could have some interest. And that's if we don't trade for either Ellis or Roberts. So a lot of scenarios still in play here.
  9. Boo, you had me all excited we traded for Cain for a minute.
  10. Been listening to Evermore quite a lot lately. Never Let You Go is a very catchy song.
  11. As Wite said, when I'm a bit on the drunk side, I just let it rip. As for normal situations, probably I am above the water towards the back center of the toilet, for maximum quietness.
  12. Only on a minor league deal. I imagine some other NL team will give him a chance though, someone desperate for a 5th starter. He was a really good pitcher too before he had the problems with his arm.
  13. Crawford's likely to be the backup next season I think. The Hawks need to have him play 20-25 games to see if he can take over from 09-10. So ATM I'd say Lalime won't be back, unless the Hawks could trade Bulin for a good package (which is possible, a starting goalie with an expiring contract and the salary cap rising would have some good value I think).
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 06:10 AM) Not a chance. I trade Ben Gordon. Gordon's likely to sign with Memphis I think. Philly has the cap room, but they've got a nice core, and I don't know if they need to add Ben to the mix. Although it's arguble if Willie Green is a starting 2 guard in the league. But Gordon's certainly on his way out. Great scorer, but he'll always be a combo guard at best who needs a very good defensive PG alongside him. Deron Williams for instance.
  15. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) Looks like Drew Gooden is a keeper. Now, if the Bulls can only draft a real point guard. Jose Calderon is the guy. I wonder if the Raps would be interested in a Hinrich plus Thomas for Calderon and something else sign and trade deal? A lineup of Calderon, Hughes, Deng, Gooden and Noah in the East would be pretty competitive, and the Bulls would have a pretty deep bench. They just need to fix the coaching situation. After seeing Boston beat Dallas today, I still think they need to go all out for Tom Thibodeau.
  16. Ok take out Hafner and I'll have Street.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 17, 2008 -> 10:51 AM) Correct. Also in the previews they say that someone dies next week. My money's on either Claire / Jin, Rosseau the French Woman or Karl. Oh damn I'm good.
  18. Miggy, Morneau, Phillips, Smoltz and Hafner.
  19. Well it would be nice if Khabibulin could actually play in the majority of the games for once in a season, and actually put up good performances like this. Because he's certainly capable of it, but for the money he's being paid, we haven't seen enough of it, and that's why people think he's a bust.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 20, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) So Juan Uribe-----------he gone. My list of guys gets smaller, a lot smaller. I'd be worried if I was Contreras then.
  21. Maybe the Sox think that by getting rid of Uribe (and his offensive weaknesses), they can afford to have Crede in the lineup now, because they will have upgraded at 2B from Ramirez (most likely, maybe Roberts who knows). Crede's obviously the better defender, and they want to help the pitching staff as much as possible. Best case scenario out of all of this, unless we can still move Joe, is that Crede gets hot early, and if a team desperately needs a third baseman, we can move Crede for a more adequate package. Or, Crede could fire Bora$$ and re-sign with the Sox, and then KW goes and ships Fields off for Linecum or something. Just throwing it out there for discussions sake.
  22. Well it's really an interesting situation, and one I certainly didn't expect to see when I logged on this morning. All the talk in Spring Training was that Uribe was the favourite to win 2nd base. Ramirez was too raw at 2B and Richar has been injured. I wonder if something has changed suddenly there (probably with Alexei), or whether this was their plan all along. My thoughts on Uribe are well known, I don't think he's a starter, and he's overpaid to be a backup. But the Sox better well hope that someone claims him or that they can trade hin, because the situation has not been well handled ever since the start of the off-season (the Uribe / Cabrera scenario). Because otherwise it's a huge waster of resources, paying 4.5M to a guy who you are not even going to use. That money could have been used to upgrade at 1 more spot on the MLB level, or to put it towards the draft or some more signings from the Latin America region.
