QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) Magic suspend Francis indefinitely..."conduct detrimental to the team." Yep in the Seattle game, when Hedo got fouled out in the 4th quarter, Brian Hill wanted Francis to come back in, but he refused. Gotta be the final straw surely. Ship his ass out to a team like Minnesota (Olowokandi and Jaric?), so we can start this rebuilding process around Dwight and Jameer already.

Yeah at this stage, I really think unless a trade happens, Baj is going to make this team. Of course it depends on the number of pitchers carried etc., but there's definitely room for him, and I think it's fair to say most people here are rootin for him.

Al Harrington is saying tonight that the Pacers are going to trade Ron Artest for Corey Maggette. I'd love to get in on the deal and offer Francis to the Pacers for Tinsley and Wilcox or Granger. We need young pieces, because we're going nowhere at the moment. Build around Jameer Nelson (who's been great so far this season) and Dwight Howard.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2288985 Brett Favre didn't get his wishes from GB, as he shouldn't have. The Packers are about to name 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McCarthy, their new head coach. I wonder if Favre retires, stays in GB, or goes elsewhere now. Apparently, his agent was saying that if they really wanted Favre to come back, they'd hire Mariucci. I thought Jim Bates was going to get the job after reading how his interview went today. Will be interesting to see if he stays on as DC. Any team struggling defensively should definitely look at him. I'd expect Sean Payton to be named as the Saints coach very soon now. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 06:52 PM) Fixed that for you. No charge. Put it on my tab. But hey they're both hitters stadiums now aren't they.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Scarlett Johanssen is on Letterman, right now....if anyone cares. Damn she is sexy. Yes, yes she is. Been in a LOT of films over the past couple of years as well. Isn't she dating Josh Harnett right now?

Diamondbacks looking to trade El Duque already?
DBAHO replied to SSH2005's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) According to this article, the Giants' rotation is about set. The Astros could use another starter with Clemens' decision up in the air. This is why I doubt that they will trade Backe. So maybe they would trade for El Duque but... El Duque + Crawford Boxes = :puke There's been rumors of the Giants wanting Josh Fogg on a MLC and have him fight out Hennessey for that last spot. Hennessey can easily pitch out the pen still, so I think if El Duque became available for the right price, depening on the Giants budget, they'd have to at least look at it. He'd fit in well with the Latino Clubhouse under Felipe Alou. -
So at least Munro looked better then Anderson has been I take it.

I wish you all the best Bull, and I think everyone here really wants to see you in the majors one day no matter what team it's on. So hopefully things work out well for you.

Diamondbacks looking to trade El Duque already?

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 07:52 AM) If Josh Byrnes somehow turns Duque around with Cintron and gets a good young starter, I will be extremely impressed. Or I will call the GM who traded for Duque and Cintron a dumbass. He could probably trade El Duque, but I doubt he'd be able to get a young starter for him. Nevertheless, I'd go ahead and make that deal if I was Byrnes. Then Halsey and Vargas could definitely pitch in the rotation, and Byrnes could use the money he'd save from El Duque and use it to fill needs such as the bullpen. As for teams that would be interested in Hernandez, maybe the Giants? You know Sabean loves his old guys. Or even the Astros, considering they may be trading Backe in a deal for a good hitter. -
Once again testing the "Mediocre Starter becomes good at PETCO" theory.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 06:06 PM) Well, he responded poorly to the challenge of AA so I don't have much faith in him stepping it up in AAA. Well at least he'll be moving from an extreme pitchers park in Birmingham to an extreme hitters park in Chicago. So I think his AVG could rise a little from 2005, he good have a pretty good 2nd half of the season. But that's not the problem. It's his plate discipline, which is currently Joe Borchard like. That should be what he really needs to concentrate on fixing over the next 2 seasons. Dave Wilder said they thought he was ready for the jump, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. At least we'll see Micah Schnurstein bumped up to AA now.

It's summer. I get by with Basketball and Football for the moment, but of course you can't wait till March and April come round.
-
Gotta have some sort of whipping boy on this team I guess.
-
Why Charlie Villenueva didn't play at all tonight, when the Bulls don't even have a center, I do not know. But then again, Sam "I don't prepare for defense according to Rafer Alston" Mitchell, is the coach now isn't he, and it showed tonight. Hinrich looks like he's got his shooting touch back.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) He does not like the Bears. He wishes he WAS a Bear.

He likes the Bears?

Can't say I've heard of many Brazilians playing Baseball before. Looks like another speedy outfielder though. He's definitely going to start in CF and hit in the #2 spot for us then.
-
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) Pathetic but true. Right now in the East, there's 6 definite teams who are going to make it and are a notch above the rest. Then you've got a logjam or teams who are mediocre at the moment, but on their day they can still beat anybody.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 08:31 AM) Ya, Boselli not being able to get healthy really hurt him. Man was Boselli the freaking man too. One of the best OT's I've ever seen, but injuries cut his career short. IIRC, Boselli and Ryan Young were the 1st 2 picks for the Texans in the Expansion Draft. They took Young, because if they didn't, they wouldn't select Aaron Glenn or Marcus Coleman from the Jets, and they were having MAJOR cap issues. Young had a lot of talent too, but knee injuries shot his career down. Bill Parcells signed him to try and fix our problems at RT, but he just never got healthy again, which was a shame, because he had a lot of talent.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 04:16 AM) Why not just draft an offensive lineman. I mean they have a good RB. But haven't you been arguing that they should take Bush and use him like Chris Perry?

So Hoopsworld and the Orlando Sentinel are reporting we're interested in Vitaly Potapenko from Seattle. So we're trading for a more overpaid stiff then Mario Kasun? Oh goody. The only way I can see this being good for us if we can ship out Kelvin Cato, and we get another piece back in the deal as well. And the Denver being interested in Ben Gordon stories have continued to surface a little on the net, here's a good read on the Gordon situation; I'm not suprised to see Drew Gooden looking like he'll be traded instead of re-signing with the Cavs. He's got some good offensive talent, but the guy just can't play much defense at all. After Sacarmento's listless performance last night against the Pacers, surely Rick Adelman is a dead man walking. I think he'd be a perfect coach for a team like the Hawks though, if another coaching vacancy came along. He's had that Kings team good for a long time, with that offensive system, that turns Brad Miller and Vlade Divac into leading assists for centers around the league. It's just that guys like Mike Bibby are just not listening to Rick anymore.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) they very much so can make it.... They can, but if they have to travel to Seattle I don't like their chances, even though it would be a great game to watch. But I'm getting to ahead of myself, they have to beat the Panthers first.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 9, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) That's a pretty good analysis. I would also add that Carolina's two defensive ends in Peppers and Rutgers have to be more of a factor. They did nothing last time we faced them. Tait and Miller vs. Peppers and Rucker should be a fine matchup. Peppers has just been DOMINATING over the past few weeks. Even if the Bears have to put in a TE in there to help block him, they should do so, if need be.
