  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) We started four white guys. Is that like an NBA record or something?
  2. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 05:32 AM) why are you so anti-orton. Because maybe he is smart enough to realise if the Bears had a good to great QB, they'd be an even better team.
  3. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) IMO you can't change qb's in the middle of the season with a first place team but that's just me. I think once Chicago starts facing the Carolina's and Orton struggles, then the calls to change to Rex will start coming. Make no mistake Chicago's got a real chance to make some noise in the NFC this season. Seattle, Dallas, New York Giants, Chicago, Carolina, Atlanta. Now anyone could win out of those teams, there's no dominant one right there.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:31 AM) Asked to win? He almost loss us that game.... 2 interceptions and a fumble...... not 2 mention if it wasnt for a ticky tack pass interference would of been 3 interceptions...... That was one of Ortons worse games.... he made a few nice throws at the end.... but how about our RB's going easily over 100 mark in the 2nd half alone.... Yeah the running game definitely carried you guys in the 2nd half. It wasn't like Orton was forced to pass almost all the time in the 2nd half, and carry this team on his back. If you read the game thread, people weren't happy with Orton overthrowing receivers.
  5. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:04 AM) Im not talking about height Im really talking about weight. Brees is actually mobile enough to buy time to throw to his receivers. Brees is 209 pounds. Grossman is 218 pounds. Make no mistake, Brees is a pocket passer.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) Yeah but this is a little different.... Garza is a RG I think so he was already out o position taking over for Ruben..... now your asking to play tackle which is a lot different from being a guard..... Idonno how that will work out. Who's the bakup RT, or would they perhaps have to move Metcalf over? Either way, it's good you guys are playing the 49ers this week.
  7. Can't see this one happening myself; So San Diego would have to replace both Eaton and Lawrence if that deal went down.
  8. But people are always happy in Germany. How could you not be with the Beer?
  9. At least we'll have some good baseball on our screens next season; http://sports.ign.com/articles/665/665391p1.html
  10. Omar Minaya's going to be busy;
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Cricket (the sport) Nice to see someone else actually know about the game.
  12. I've still got hope. He had a nice run down at B-Ham for about a month putting together about 5 or 6 out of 7 quality starts. But with the other SP prospects in our system, I doubt we'll ever see him with the White Sox.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) LOL, who would of thought Alex would have been complimenting me. Afterall...all I have to tell a lady is that I own Soxtalk. If I say those magic words to a girl, its guaranteed play If we're talking about a nerdy girl, then umm yes. Otherwise no.
  14. Pretzels. Pringles. Waiting for the day Orlando scores over 90. Pop, pop and more pop (or soda or whateva you Yanks call it).
  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) Because the the scouting report coming out of college was that he wasn't physically big enough and he wasn't that mobile. It said that he would get injured very quickly in the NFL. Grossman is about 6'1. There are a lot of QB's in the league who are only around the 6'2 mark, and Vick is only 6'0. You don't get selected as a 1st round pick, if you don't have the talent to make it, especially at a premium position in the NFL. Grossman has success with Spurrier's system, and with another offensive system, he threw an excellent deep ball and has good accuracy. My point on Orton vs. Grossman is this. Grossman's best game against the Redksins a few season ago when the Bears had the likes of Justin Gage to throw to etc. he threw for 245 yards. Orton is only averaging 148.3 Y/G. Don't you think if the Bears are going to take the next step, they need someone who can throw at least 200 Y/G, who can help open up the offense? The Bears have an elite defense, and an excellent running game to boot. But at the moment, with Orton behind center, they're going nowhere in the playoffs. In the next year or 2, once Orton perhaps gets comfortable at the NFL level, then yeah the Bears could make some noise. But in a weak - wide open NFC, they could make some noise now, if they decide to take the risk and go to Rex.
  16. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:12 PM) yeah on the bench nursing an injury that put him out for the year on a non-contact play. You act like Grossman is the only person in the history of football for which that's ever happened. What about Mark Bradley? Is he going to re-injure his knee now because of what he did when he comes back?
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Cano is the guy on that list that I think has the most upside. Well him and Houston Street (he's gonna be a quality closer for a long time). Cano is a pretty good player, just look at his stats. When I was looking at Cano's stats a few weeks back, he was terrible at Yankee Stadium, but absolute money on the road. If I'm Minny, if New York wants Torii Hunter, I want Robinson Cano back. Frees up money for them to acquire a Jim Thome as well, if that's the path they want to take.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) Orton has tools...Krenzel didn't. They aren't at all similar qb's. Orton has made some very impressive throws and has flashed whats necessary of a good to above average NFL qb. Give this kid some time and he's going to be a pretty good one. Krenzel never was. Yes but if you watched the Saints game, you would have seen Orton overthrowing a lot of balls. The Bears were just lucky they were playing the Saints. If the Bears want to go far in the playoffs, they'll need to make a change. Otherwise, it shows that they're building for the long - term (which in itself isn't a bad thing).
  19. Atlanta would almost be the only spot I could see him at. Depends how Arthur Blank and Jim Mora Jr. felt I guess though.
  20. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Knew this would happen. Krenzel and Orton are completely different situation wise. Krenzel was horrible, Orton has been tolerable. In 8 games this season Orton has a QB rating of 62.9. In the 3 games that Krenzel won, he had a QB rating of 62.4. We all know where that went. Wait until Orton faces the defenses of Carolina and Tampa.
  21. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) it's 6 career games. Don't count that against Orton. It is Grossman's fault that he can't take a hit without breaking his leg. I love how you say, oh Rex is going to break his leg again once he goes anywhere near a football field, it's a 100% sure thing. GMAFB.
  22. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Financial accounting and business law. Been there done that, and they were actually pretty good down here (last year) when I took em. I had International Financial Reporting (Harmonisation, Consolidation, Purchase Method, Coporate Governance etc.) and Business Finance (Net Profit Value, Bonds, lots of equations etc.). And I've got Money and Capital Markets on Thursday which is all basically banks, shares, financial institutions, all that kind of stuff.
