  1. Happy Birthday Eleni!!! Hope you have a real good one! (Maybe Ross Gload will pop up from the Birthday Cake or something).
  2. I usually try to get at least 8 hours of sleep, and get any more if I can. On weekend, I usually sleep in till midday anyways. And today, got about 7 hours of sleep, had to get up early for Uni, got a 2 hour break, what do I do? Drive home and grab an hour's nap time.
  3. How is 1 player going to guarantee us a World Series Ring? Steinbrenner would have signed him already.
  4. QUOTE(shakes @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:49 AM) Since everyone loves to bash Crede, and I'm starting to hop on that bandwagon, I thought I'd bring this up. It looks like the Reds are going to have a firesale. I think Joe Randa would be an upgrade that could be had for a reasonable price. Any takers? Qwerty and myself own copyright on that.
  5. Best of luck Tex. And don't forget about the drawings!!
  6. I wished we played on the West Coast all the time. The games are actually on at a good time for me.
  7. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:23 AM) Albert Pujols I'll rephrase this then. Who would you have traded then to be our DH then (and we're not talkin about fantasy MVP Baseball rules here).
  8. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) I have made my mistakes.. Ortiz is one of them, But its still early for him main reason I wanted him was for his 200+ inning to save out bullpen. But with those 200+ innings (if he even makes that many) comes; 1) A BB/K ratio that is 31/22. 2) A pitcher that has a 3.74 K/9 ratio. 3) A pitcher where hitters are hitting .305 against him. 4) A pitcher where lefties are absolutely KILLING him. Splits of .374/.442/.551. 5) A pitcher who gets worse after the All - Star Break. Pre and Post All - Star break ERA's prove this. SIGN HIM UP ON THE DOTTED LINE!!!
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) Nah, I've already seen way too much of him down in Anaheim. The guy is way worse than Eckstein. It's funny, people actually thought the Cardinals overpaid for Eckstein. But he's been a bargain in terms of production compared to his replacement, Orlando f***in Cabrera.
  10. I ask this question. Would you deal Sean Tracey for Placido Polanco straight up? Or do you want the Phillies to pay the majority of his deal for the rest of the season?
  11. After his 1st performance, it was pretty much inevitable that this was going to happen. As much as I would like to see continue his apprenticeship down at AAA where he still had things to work on, Sox fans probably would have gone nuts if they kept the likes of Walker, Vizcaino and Cotts ahead of B-Mac. I am glad to see that they are looking to save El Duque for down the stretch when we really will need him.
  12. Has anyone actually put forward the idea of dealing Konerko to the A's? I know it would never happen, but if it meant we could deal Crede and get Chavez and not have to give up B-Mac, (we'd most likely have to take back Scott Hatteberg), it'd be worth considering (since there was an article a few weeks ago saying the A's were interested in Mike Sweeney). Either way, Chavez would be an absolute power house in the middle of this lineup at the Cell. Scott Rolen exploded last season, with the talent he had around him in Edmonds and Pujols, Chavez would probably do the same. I am inclined to deal Sean Tracey though. I think long - term, he's a fine prospect no doubt, but he probably walks too many for Ozzie and KW likelihood, and you've got 4 good lefties in the system below him in Gonzalez, Lumsden, Liotta and Whisler. If we do go for a deadline deal for an upgrade, I think the Sox are probably going to make a deal there (and as Tom (BHAM) said, there were a number of Phillies scouts checkin out Tracey at a game 2 or 3 days ago).
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 25, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Jim Thome is a great hitter, but Cleveland was worried that his back wouldn't last more than 3 years. This is year 3 and Thome's out with a bad back. No thanks. Way too risky. Exactly. Philly would probably get out of that deal now if they could, but they won't be able to. Realistically, it's Konerko, Millar, Overbay, Snow, Mientkiewicz, Durazo who are going to be the most likely options for us at 1B next season.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 25, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) You should of heard me in the stadium. I was going nuts on the one with Paulie. I was just hoping and hoping and when he made the catch me and this Sox fan sitting behind me were screaming at the top of our lungs, LOL. Were you sitting near any of those hot chicks they showed on the broadcast?
  15. Jason Kendall = Poor man's Paul LoDuca.
  16. QUOTE(Pastime @ May 25, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) I know I'm just a "pup" in the grand scheme of things, but I've only had 1983, 1993, and 2000 to be proud of. I'm looking for OUR chance. The Flubs had their chance in 2003, and they won't have that chance again for 50 years, so I believe that this is OUR chance. I hope Kenny will fill out the loose spots and make this a season that is surreal to all of us. Of course I want to win the World Series - but just MAKING it would bring tears to my eyes, and I never cry. Seriously - I don't know how to cry anymore. I'm just never sad. Unless Vizcaino comes in to pitch, that is. We might as well just start calling Vizcaino, Professor Gas Can.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 25, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) I WILL USE CAPS AND !1!1!1!1!11!╖├ ¤¤¦¤« EVERY TIME THE SOX GET A BASE HIT OR SCORE. IS THAT ALRIGHT WITH YOU YOU¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿? Liar.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) I think Gio is one of those untouchable guys too, the guys talent is amazing... unless he suffers a major setback he can be a tremendous major leaguer. That's what I said in the Wagner rumors, but I got shot down on that one by a few people. I think Gio is actually our 2nd or 3rd best prospect, when healthy.
  19. Andrew Bogut, welcome to Milwaulkee. Pat Williams didn't get so lucky this time.
  20. Here's one that I thought could make sense. Raul Ibanez and Eddie Guardado.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) The only way the Marlins could afford Graves is if they waited the 10 days until he became a free agent. Isn't their payroll pretty much tapped? Yeah it is, but it'd be more likely the Mets or Cubs would trade for him before us.
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) It looks like Kenny may be interested in Graves... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...rtswhitesox-hed How about a Vizcaino for Graves swap with the Reds picking up most of Graves' contract? Otherwise, Graves will likely clear waivers and the Reds will get nothing for him. Grave has said that he wants to go home and play for the Marlins, and they do need bullpen help there. So I don't think we're going to get him, plus I couldn't really see the Reds wanting Vizcaino greatly, nor would I see KW trading him.
  23. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 25, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) I know you aren't in Chicago to hear this guy's reports, but he said it's going to be a trade with a National League ballclub for a "big-name" left-handed OF and a RP. A) Kearns is a righty B ) Neither Kearns nor Willy Mo are considered "big-name" C) With 13 HR already on the season, Dunn is a good power-number left-hander for the Cubs to consider D) The Reds are basiclly out of contension, making anyone expendable and the team believed to make the trade with the Cubs is said to be scouting the minor league system right now, and lord knows the Cubs have a ton of talent in AA. EDIT: Another name to watch is Cliff Floyd; yes, the Mets are still in contension, but Hendry has a tremdous relationship with Floyd and the Mets may find him expendible after checking out a guy like DuBois and some AA pitching. I just couldn't believe that the Reds would give up on Dunn. He's a guy who's not even in him prime yet, and is a fantastic OBP and power guy. Meh, well they did give Eric Milton a 25.5 million, 3 year deal. The Mets could very well give up on Floyd now, since they now consider Mike Cameron a key player, and they'd want to get Victor Diaz playing everyday.
  24. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) I have read somewhere that Hansen probably won't get past the Mets at #9. Yeah they are very, very high on him and are desperate for relief help, anyway possible. Of course it'll be interesting to see what they do, if they promote Strickland, and sign Danny Graves. EDIT: Forget about Strickland. I see he declared himself a free agent today.
