What moves,if any, should KW make at deadline?
QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) robby alomar i just wish if we trade its an impact player like Chavez,Wagner or hey Abreu Could see that coming. Really there aren't that many holes in this team. First and foremost I'd like to see us acquire a lefty LOOGY who can actually get lefties out. A closer would be nice, but I don't want to sell the farm to get one. B-Mac today showed how important it is to develop young players.

KW on Espn now
QUOTE(bulokis @ May 23, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) If Konerko wont be back, we need a big LH bat in the middle. If we can trade for Teixeira bcoz they have that Adrian Gonzalez waiting. Scott Bora$$ client. Trading for Gonzalez is more likely.

Kevin Millar has hit for pretty much no power this year. He's a great clubhouse guy, but I don't think he'll be our main target. Erubiel Durazo is one of Beane's love childs. And he pretty much can't field at 1B. He's a DH specialist, so we'll have to see what happens with Thomas and Konerko. My guy I'd go after since we're naming them, J.T Snow. Lefty bat, won't break the bank, hits for a high average and a gold glove first baseman.

Trade Frank Thomas?
QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ May 23, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) I would trade Frank to the Angels for Casey Kotchman 1B and Jake Woods P The Angels certainly have a great farm system. Kendry Morales homered in his first game yesterday in high A ball, and Ervin Santana had been dominant because he got roughed up by Cleveland last week. Here's a guy the Sox could look at though, Chone Figgins.

Corey "Close'em early" Patterson
Paulie did good to get a good swing on that pitch too.
- Trade Frank Thomas?

6 GAME LEAD!
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) did i say they would? im just saying that of the two who seemed like they were on the trading block... Carlos has done better than Konerko.... also we might of been able to traded Konerko for maybe Juan Pierre before Marlins signed Delgado... but in the end we are all 31-12 so good luck Carlos but i guess we dont need you.. It was more likely they were going to deal Castillo before Pierre anyways, and if we did that, we wouldn't have Iguchi. Things couldn't have worked out better quite frankly.

It was inevitable. Now I'd love to hear Arnie say that.

Gagne?
The Dodgers will probably keep Gagne. Once Valentin is healthy again, they really don't have many holes that they need to trade such a dominant guy in Gagne to fill. Sure Brazoban has done good, but who's going to set-up for him in the 8th? Is Kelly Wunsch going to pitch as good as he has so far for them? I'm of the view that a lefty LOOGY who can get lefties out is more important than a closer right now. Also Bob, you asked where has our farm system gotten us in past few seasons? Your point is taken, but it's still extremely important for the Sox to develop guys that they draft that they can put into the team at such a cheap cost, to help put money into other more important needs. Anderson is very, very close to joining this team, just needs to work on some little things such as his K/BB ratio, and get some more AB's. Ryan Sweeney, Chris Young and Jerry Owens are looking good down at B-Ham, B-Mac is already up with the club now, and Gio Gonzalez was absolutely dominant early on down at Kanny.

Is someone from Texas in here?
QUOTE(Texsox @ May 20, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) As far as the social life, you may dislike Texas women, especially if you dislike tall, sweet, beautiful, and sexy. Well that settles it......... (starts running out of the house)

Paulie and corpse ball
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 20, 2005 -> 03:08 AM) The next time any moron here defends Paulie over Frank, they can go to hell. I remember how some of these fools were kissing Paulie's behind when he called out Frank a few years back. Paulie is so over-rated it is not even funny. I wish we had traded him in the last offseason and signed Delgado instead. Would we have gotten the same package as what we got for Lee? Would we still have Pods? Would Jermaine Dye be around to wake up from his slumber? Also, if we let Paulie go, there aren't that many great first baseman available to sign this off-season.

Two Former Sox Just Designated for Assignment
Tampa Bay picked up Alex Sanchez, when they already have Joey Gathright and Johnny Gomes in AAA. Says it all really.

2005 E3 Thread
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 21, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Awesome review. ^^ that. Certainly summed things up. I know if the PS3 is going to be over $500 down here, I ain't gonna fork out that much for one. On the games I most wanted to see, well I was very happy with all the vidoes I was able to see of the Movies, including a 15 gamespot live presentation with Peter Molyneaux (who someone is about 33 even though he looks 55). Can't wait to start playing that when it comes out round September time. Killzone 2 was one hell of a video. Great looking graphics, one of those in your face games. Looks the goods.

Six man rotation?
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) If the Sox are planning on BMac starting two games, they'll probably put El Duque on the DL. It would be retroactive to the last time he pitched, which I believe was Sunday the 15th. By the time his slot came up for the third time, he'd be eligible to come off the DL. That's a good idea YAS. The Sox should really just shut down El Duque for the rest of the month at least, if there any problems with his arm whatsoever. He's going to crucial for us down the stretch, so it's ideal that he needs to be healthy then. Possible short - term pain for long - term gain, if you get my thinking.
