QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 05:17 AM) Has Sickels gone mad? Saying that Rogo is a power guy? Rogo is a hitter, but last season was the first year he showed much any power and still he projects as a 15-20 guy at this point although he's strong enough that those projections could change, but he's done nothing at this point to show that he'll be a 30 HR type guy. Sickels is definately right in in regards to Whisler. He's gonna be a project and I think he's saying something similar to I in Anderson. I Think Anderson will be good, great...no. Mainly I think the Sox are nuts because they are rushing him. He didn't blow up AA and some more seasoning will do him some good, especially since he won't be playing as a starter in the majors this year unless some really bad things happen on the southside. That's exactly my thinking with Anderson. But I guess KW, Dave Wilder and the Sox feel that since Charlotte has a hitters park and B-Ham doesn't, the change in stats from moving to AAA from AA won't be as bad (if that makes any sense). Like I've said before with B-Mac, I'd like both guys to start the year in AA and finish in AAA, but that's unlikely to happen.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) No. Look at bogut in yours. At least Bogut can post up on midgets unlike one Eddy Curry.

QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) What's with the hard-on for Harden? Heh. Why is he so highly touted? An AL Scout said in Gammons' latest column he'll have the best in the AL in 2 seasons IIRC. Plus he pitches in Oakland, great pitchers park. -

I don't give a damn how Contreras and Hernandez have pitched in Spring Training. For all we know, they could pull a Shingo on us, and suprise a lot of people come the regular season, but I'd say that's probably unlikely to happen. If Contreras struggles up to July, I've got no doubt KW will probably try to move him ALA Loaiza, to try and fill a need (probably for another starter or to let B-Mac come up). Some team could take a chance on Jose as a closer, Colorado perhaps if the Sox paid a portion of the deal. Jose's problem is, even if he pitches in a pitchers park, his ERA is not going to drop as much as it should, because he walks a lot of batters and comes up with a lot of wild pitches.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) Also, if you happen to be a fencer, its the school to be at...defending national champs at fencing I bet it really put them on the map for that accomplishment.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) Reed's still a rookie though and he'll have his struggles. He'll be a solid player though. Think Erstad upside wise with obviously a better OBP. Hopefully he doesn't become as injury prone as Erstad is though. He reminds me a lot of a better version of Rusty Greer.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) My favorite one is the one where Elaine is driving Paddy's car and finds out all of the radio pre-sets are Christian radio stations. The conversation the two of them have with the priest ALWAYS makes me laugh (even just thinking about it). Puddy was great, especially with the high fives "lowest form of male communication" and the 8 ball jacket.

This may have been posted somewhere else before already, but I just saw on Yahoo if you register for any Fantasy Baseball League Competition you have enter a competition for the chance to win the Assistant to Baseball Operations job with the Giants for 1 year, which would be pretty sweet. http://promotions.yahoo.com/fantasy_gm/static/faq.html

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) I'd rather trade for Shaun Alexander if it is true and the Seahawks are willing to take less than a 1st rounder. The problem is with trading for both guys, is that they want big time long term contracts. Do the Bears have enough cap space to do that?

QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 06:38 AM) Look the logic is based on two things. 1) Crede's no good. He's had his shot and has not delivered. A third basemen on a contending team is traditionally a solid hitter, if not a feared power hitter. Do you guys really think Crede is somehow going to turn into Troy Glaus or Adrian Beltre? I don't happen to think so. 2) Osuna at short and Uribe at third fits the Ozzie ball mode. The combination of these two on the left side of the infield is the best we have at this time based on what I've seen. Uribe is a much better hitter than Crede, and can field just as well if not better. Osuna has good speed, is having an impressive spring at the plate and at short and is a much better #9 hitter than Crede would be. What makes you think Pablo Ozuna is going to put up better numbers than Joe Crede, considering he's only played 65 major league games in his career? If he had any hope on being a good major league player, he would have caught on with another team already.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) I know you watch the game. All I'm saying is these stats are horses***. I just want people to tell me what the Bulls would do without his precense down low. He's the one consistent low post scorer the Bulls would have. Without him teams wouldn't even have to worry about the bigs and could shut down the perimeter game. Harrington is solid off the bench, but he isn't near the force offensively that Eddy is. And yes his rebounding is awful, no other way of putting it. But don't ignore the things he does well at the same time. He's young and needs to grow, but he's just had back to back pretty good games with 8 boards and minimal TO's. No, its not as good as he needs to be rebounding wise, but its an improvement. Rebounding is about attitude of wanting to get the ball and he's going to have to get it. The problem is Skiles has said he's not much of a low post scorer, and gets most of his points on putsbacks etc. He is not worth max money, which 1 team not named Chicago could give to him this off-season just because of his potential. Ideally, the Bulls should try and sign a guy like Dalembert, who's so much better at the things Curry can't do, and make a sign and trade deal with Curry, and use the remaining cap space on a servicable big.

You're Nate McMillan. Who gets the final shot for Seattle?

QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 12, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) ummm Noc shoots barely 40 % from the field and 25 % 3pt. He's not automatically going to shoot as good as he did in Argentina over in the NBA in his 1st season. It takes time with foreigners, but the potential is there for other teams to see e.g Manu

If Crede really sucks it up this season, the Sox can always just non - tender him, like the Giants did with AJ, but KW will want to see what he can possibly get in a trade instead of letting Crede go for nothing.
