Brian Anderson to start in AAA
My guess is that Owens and Tom Brice are probably fighting for that last outifeld spot in B-Ham, with the loser starting the year back at Winstom - Salem.

Ever Get Made Fun Of?
QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) Just try explaining to someone in Canada that you spend time on a message board talking about the Chicago White Sox. I can beat that. Just try explaining to someone in Australia that you spend time on a message board talking about the Chicago White Sox. Actually at University today I saw an American Exchange Student wearing a Chicago Cubs T-Shirt. Ugh... you know what that means, they're migrating.

Another Off-Season Article
I know, I know, another friggin article talkin about the moves in the off-season that KW and the Sox have made, you're probably all sick of em by now. But since it's from the Hardball Times which is definitely one of the better baseball sites out there, I'd thought I'd post it anyways. This guy, Ben Jacobs gave us the 14th best off-season, just ahead of San Francisco (giving you some ammo here Cheat);

Lefties in the bullpen
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) I REALLY hope they pick the 12 best pitchers and put them on the roster. The argument there though is are you sacrificing long - term gain for some short - term gain? That's something the Sox have to consider.
-
Lefties in the bullpen
It looks like the Sox may carry 12 pitchers now. Walker, Cotts and Adkins are probably fighting for those 2 open spots in the pen.

Flying Under The Radar
Anyone think Billy King might just be regretting that Webber trade right about now? Geoff Petrie looks like he did it again.

Around The Majors
So Illitch will just keep giving out bad deals the next few off-seasons I guess. I know which owner I'm going to first if I'm Scott Bora$$.

Sleeper Prospects 2005
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 06:01 AM) Mine is below my quote at wite. As I and DBAH0 know in our little duos on who was the sleeper. I won last season. Yeah so much for Nachreiner right?

Eddy Curry
QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) I have heard him referred as the ''next shaq'' and ''baby shaq''. Point is he is nothing like shaq and never will be. If he went to college the chances of him being as dominant as shaq would be that much better, but most likely he would still never sniff what he has done. He does one thing shaq does well and that is score. Wo0t, let's throw him a party. The answer to your question is me. Looking good at 18 there Qwerty.

Lookout DBAHO!
This is going to be worse than the cyclone that hit Darwin just over 30 years ago, that totally destroyed that city. Luckily, there's really no big city up there in far north Queensland except for Townsville and Cairns. Lucky for me, I'm stuck down here in the south.

College Students, or graduates
QUOTE(shagar69 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) o now ur tellin me what i should and shouldnt do. U can go f*** urself as well, along with SouthSider. :finger Having an attitude like that and personally attacking everyone just because they disagree with your confrontational attitude and views isn't going to get you far around here or anywhere on a message board. SoxFan1's Official Mock Draft 1
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) nice mock draft but i dont think dallas is interested in a WR with Morgan, Glenn, and Keyshawn. Keyshawn and Glenn = Over 30. They don't have much left in the tank even if they are "Parcells" favorites. But I can't see Williams slipping past 7. The Vikings don't need a LB, they've got those 3 spots filled with Henderson, Thomas? and Harris. If anything, they'll take a CB before a LB.

Wasn't this guy an ex NY Mets GM? If he was, well that says it all about his opinion and credbility quite frankly.

An Open Letter to Condi
QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) He didn't claim that "terrorists" were in Iraq. Just an evil dictator committing attrocities. Try reading next time. But wasn't the reason for invading Iraq in the 1st place to find those Weapons of Mass Destruction? (And no I'm not an against invading Iraq person, although a lot of people down here are).

US Troops shoot freed Journo
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Ding. Ding. Ding. That "b****" is trying to make it sound like a hit. Of course, if it was, she wouldn't be saying anything right now. No offense YAS, but I don't really think it's fair to entitle her as that, even if you don't agree with she's saying, after what she went through in the first place.

bulls vs. bucks
QUOTE(soxman35 @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) bucks are going to win because the bulls suck more then the bucks So that prediction was a good one right...........

bulls vs. bucks
Can I just ask since I don't really know the Bulls situation with their coaches too well, if they actually have a big man coach or not? Because Orlando signed Clifford Ray as one this season, and he's regarded league wide as probably the best one at that, and you can see the difference to Dwight Howard's game, even though he's only a rookie. If not, it's something they should seriously consider to teach Curry and Chandler some low post moves.

bulls vs. bucks
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) well its obvious you dont like curry but it seems like you go out of you way just to put him down which in effect becomes annoying. Im not a huge curry fan either but you just take it to another level... and after a while it becomes annoying. Well the guy's got so much potential, it's natural for Bulls fans to be annoyed that he has no other good aspects of his game other than his scoring (which he can't even do that well in the low post) after he's been with the team for a few seasons. To me, he's like Steve Francis is to Orlando. For the good of the team long - term, they've got to make a change.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) the reason i like idea of drafting weaver is he already sat out 1 year.... you would have to think that the player is not going to want to sit out another year....which would leave us in the better position. What about Matt Harrington?

bulls vs. bucks
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) you and your curry bashing is really starting to get annoying we all get it... you dont like him cant you just leave it alone. :headshake 1 play doesn't make a good player though.

I that draft for the Cowboys.

NFL FA signings
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) I am so pissed at the Chiefs. First they say they're going to sign Trotter, nope. Then Rolle, nope. What's next, trading Green, Holmes, and Gonzalez for 4 footballs and a waterboy? They Chiefs need to get Ed Hartwell locked up before the Seahawks steal him from right under their noses.

QUOTE(Spiff @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) Christie's done in Orlando, he hates being there. Something's going to happen with him this off-season. He's still got 1 year left on his deal at $8.3 million, and if they can't agree on a buyout, someone will definitely want Christie's ending deal for that valuable cap space come the 2006 off-season. Mobley's pretty much almost a lock to head to Denver in the off-season, if George Karl is on board with taking him on, Kiki loves him. Then they might try to pull that Steve Francis for Andre Miller + other parts deal again maybe.

Baseball America top 100
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Sorry for changing the topic a little bit, but if Honel rebounds and has an above-average season, and Tracey/Mac/Gonzalez continue on there ways without any significant injuries, I think one has to start looking at our minor league pitching (starting pitching, too) as pretty damn good, and probably the top third in the MLB. It would definitely be a joy to see Honel succeed, as he's a local kid -- but man, if Mac/Tracey/Gonzalez all pan out, I think we're looking at one hell of a staff the next five-ten years. And, I'm still holding out hope that the Sox will take the risk (pay the man, as we don't have any supp. picks or second rounders) and go after Jered Weaver, as the two sides (Angels and Boras) have totally split, apparently. Man -- if the Sox got Weaver, I'd be one happy, happy person, as well as Jason and many others... Those early draft picks in the last MLB draft really helped rebuilt the young pitching for the farm, even though a lot of them are still down in the lower levels.
