FutureSox Game Thread for April 12
They mite be tryin Ryan Kohlmeier as a starter down there instead of Pacheco. Majewski with 3 K's in 1 inning looked good. Only 2 hits though, Borchard got 1.

What is the future for our clot of AAA pitchers?
Rauch - #1 starter down in Charlotte. Prob. will be trade bait later on in the season for a guy like Cabrera if he doesn't hav a really good 1. Diaz - Great fastball, some ppl think his long term future is in the pen. Stewart - Only lefty in rotation, which could help him. Never pitched in Charlotte before this season, but has major league experience. One to keep an eye on throughout the season. Pacheco - Relieved in his 1st outing I think, but is prob. still the 5th starter. Ended up a very good trade gettin him from Colorado for Sandy Alomar Jr. Out of all 5, I think he's the least likely to be called up, unless he has another Birmingham type season from last year. Grilli - Excellent 1st outing, Sox definitely saw sumthin in him to keep him around. I'd say if we need a replacement for Danny Wright in the 5th spot in the rotation, so far it'd be either Rauch or Grilli, unless they giv it to Adkins or Cotts.

Boy raised by dog dies on welfare
A THAI boy who was partially raised by a dog was found dead at a welfare centre where he had been taken for protection, police and welfare officials said today. Two-year-old Prateep Chumnoon made headlines in the Thai media last year when he was taken from his impoverished 60-year-old grandmother who regularly left him in the care of her pet. The toddler's body was discovered early Sunday morning inside a high plastic container used for laundry at a welfare centre in the southern Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat, local police said. Welfare officials reportedly removed Prateep from his grandmother's care after neighbours alerted them that the boy had began making dog, rather than human, sounds. "She left him at home with the dog while she went out for work," chief provincial welfare officer, Theerasak Kwanphet said. Theerasak said an internal investigation had been ordered into the boy's death. A police spokesman said the boy had died from injuries that might have been caused by a fall into the container. "We are investigating as doctors do not know yet whether his death was accidental or not," the police spokesman said.

What the White Sox Need to Do Is.......
Adkins won't make it as a starter, at least not here where U.S Cell is a hitter's park. I agree that Wright's long term future should be out of the pen, but we shouldn't giv up on him afta 1 start. I'm also very comfortable with leavin Cotts and Adkins in da pen, if Shoe struggles, I think KW will make a trade for a starter very soon.

Brandon McCarthy, great start
Some of our minor - league pitchers hav had really good 1st outings, nice to see B-Mac following da trend.

Good experience for them wasn't it, unless u hav sum1 like Cosmo Kramer standin on the dugout gettin hit by a baseball.

derek jeter says...
Hmmm Vasquez is a 20 game winner on that team, Brown too if he stays injury free. Mussina I'd be worried about a lil more, and they need Contreas to be more consistent this year which is unlikely. But guys like Pay - Rod hav had really bad starts, so they'll definitely come around.

Heep Sop Choi
It's only the second week of the season so I wouldn't say 30 HR's and 100 RBI's is a lock yet. Plus Pro Player Stadium is hardly a hitter's park.

Very pleased to see Buerhle get on the board, deserved a win in KC, gets one here. Maggs has started like a house on fire.

Ordonez: Sox deal 'close' to happening
I can definitely live with 6 years $68 million. I think Vlad Guerrero got a 6 year $90 million contract. Maggs is not injury prone like Vlad though, so I think this is a very, very good deal for the White Sox. If this goes down, I've got no doubt, sumthin will happen with one of outfielders e.g Borchard, Anderson.

The official "Put Urible at SS" Thread
Trade Valentin while his value is still relatively high. A team like Boston who needs middle infielders might take a chance on him, KW should make it into a 3 way deal, to get Kata or Hairston from Arizona, or Figgins or Amazenga from Anaheim. Uribe is cheap, not arbitration elgible for bout 2 years I think, and has a lot of talen. He didn't hit .300 for nothing ya know.

FutureSox 4/9 Game Threads
I still think his long term future is in the pen, he's got a great fastball though. Electric stuff.
