  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) lol, also it's a coincidence that he retires after Favre's last year (I guess, who the f*** knows with that guy). Haha was just thinking that.
  2. John Salmons needs to lock down Paul Pierce, can't say that enough. I see Boston winning in 5 though. Don't think the Bulls can stop all of Rondo, Allen and Pierce, and they don't have a low post scorer to exploit no Garnett.
  3. We play Philly who we've swept all season, and Dalmbert strains his shoulder. Good, good night.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) United is awful. I avoid them at all costs. They were the 1 American Airline that flew b/w Australia and the U.S (but I always flew with Qantas) but now Virgin and Delta have joined that route. Nothing like a little competition. But United is probably the worst airline I've been on, and that's saying something.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) I want KW to say he failed this team this offseason also...we don't always get what we want. Not KW's fault that he had to cut payroll from the 2008 team. He did well just to get rid of Vazquez and Swisher quite frankly.
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 10:39 AM) The sox do have better role models for Milledge to follow then Dukes, Dunn and Belliard. He also had better role models to follow when he was at the Mets.
  7. I am never flying United again after the 1 experience I had with them, delayed both ways on my first trip to Chicago, with no customer service at all. But as for what they're doing, I don't see a major issue with it.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 15, 2009 -> 10:32 AM) The Nats don't want to trade Milledge. Obviously for the right price they would, but I have been hearing this is more an attempt at a wake up calll for Lastings to get his act together. That's the major reason why I don't think you'd see the Sox acquire Milledge, especially when they have a veteran core.
  9. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) That does not burst my bubble at all. Lewis was on the floor and healthy. Someone had to stop him and it looks like it was accomplished, however that allowed other areas of the Magic offense to excel. If it is known knowledge that Lewis and Hedo are playing at 50% or so, that changes all the Dynamics of the offense. and don't you think the Bulls shooting 31% had a little to do with such a lopsided loss? Are you depending on the Bulls to shoot that poorly in a series? Lewis hasn't been healthy since the ASB with bad knees. He's one guy I look for to step up in the playoffs.
  10. Um wow is all I have to say at this. Well he's probably better than Owens but that isn't saying much. I hope BA runs away with the job and Pods never has to play for us (especially in center field).
  11. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) I will go on record to say if you guys have no perimeter game in the Playoffs the Bulls will win in 6. Howard will have fits with Noah and a Lurking Tyrus, which I imagine would be the game plan to slow down Howard. However, if you guys play well through the injuries and are not 1 dimensional, you guys will win in 5. Even if we don't shoot well from the perimeter, I still think we win, because we're one of the better defensive teams in the NBA (although nobody would actually think that). Howard's averaging 19.5/12.5 shooting 63.8% from the field against the Bulls in his 4 games so far this season. I don't think Noah's going to give him any problems, but JMO.
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 12:38 AM) Only Hedo's injury is something that might be of concern b/c no one knows how serious the injury really is. Lewis would be playing if this was the playoffs. I dont think the Bulls can win here either. X-Rays came back negative on Sunday, prob won't play til the playoffs I would say. I'd much rather face Chicago than Detroit as a Magic fan though. I don't think Noah and Miller can handle Howard down low.
  13. I almost think outwear sounds better than outerwear as a word. Almost.
  14. Fields' plate discipline so far this season has been the most impressive thing so far for mine. 5/5 K/BB ratio in 19 AB's.
  15. It must be heartening as a Detroit fan to realize that $20M or so is tied up in 2 guys who aren't even in the rotation, and Miner puts up a performance like this. Or not.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) Wynn's buffet is also ridiculous. But be ready to shell out some dough at either the Wynn or Bellagio buffet. I'm staying at the Palace Hotel and they've got an awesome $10 buffet as well. I'll probably check out the Wynn one as well though.
  17. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 12:12 PM) Why isn't Betemit in vs Miner? Thome should get another day off. Probably because Miner's a righty.

    i am drunk in 2009

So I've got that wonderful Monday hungover feeling again, but it's a bit sad, because it's the last time I'll be like this in New York. Beer Pong + Rick Astley Never Gonna Give You Up (and yes I shaked the knees just like Rick did back in the day) made it a memorable Sunday. I think I'll just pass out at my cubicle now.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 12:30 AM) What am I missing? My Baltimore thread from last month.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 02:52 PM) im laughin pretty hard at that pavano outing....1 IP 7 runs so far...on the hook for potentially 9 1IP, 9ER. Oops. Here's a crazy thought though. Everyone talked Detroit being able to score over 1000 runs last season, could the Rangers do it this season I wonder?
  21. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Vikings??? With the great Sage Rosenfels as their QB? I don't think so. And why stop there? What about the Fire? How about the Shamrox? Sky? Bandits? Etc.... Let's get ALL of our local teams in the playoffs in 2009! The Vikings have the best RB in the NFL, and one of the best defenses in the NFL. And Rosenfals is an upgrade on Tavaris Jackson and Gus Freotte without a doubt. They SHOULD win the NFC North. EDIT: But then again, Brad Childress could stuff it all up.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 11:27 PM) TO reported to voluntary workouts. Suck on that. ESPN.
  23. The move had to be made, and hopefully it's a permanent one. It's a lot of pressure of Getz, and there'll be times where he'll struggle, but he's a rookie and we need to remember that, but I think he's up for the job. I'd rather see Alexei in the #2 spot though than A.J, but hopefully this gets A.J and Wise going. Maybe they want Alexei lower down the order while the weather is still cold also.
