  1. Right. And here's the thing. From what I have heard and read, DH is a really really hard spot to play. You bat and it's all you think about. If we're stacked with young guys, I'm not putting one of them at DH. Sorry, I'm just not. DH is a mental drain because you simply do not play the field and have a ton of time to think about previous at bats, good or bad. Andrew Vaughn and Eloy Jimenez will not be DHing for this team for a long time. If Jose wants to be an elder statesman and leader for a young team on the rise, he needs to step up and take the DH spot.
  2. Time for our guy Jose to decide how badly he wants to stay in Chicago then, I'm afraid. His comments indicated he would do quite a lot for this organization and he really wants to stay in Chicago. Here's his shot. DH 70% of the time.
  3. Honestly, at this point there is only one team and it's team rebuild.
  4. Nothing. It's the only reason I can think of off the top of my head as to why we couldn't sign Jose to play DH. DH would be great for Jose.
  5. Lost of good days for the rebuild.
  6. I think people are a little quick to write off Eloy in the field. He's not good, but he is also VERY young.
  7. Vaughn next season? Maybe. If Eloy can improve in the outfield, you can DH Jose and get away with a couple years extension.
  8. This is just wrong. You have to consider what some team would give up for Abreu's services. You can say you won't trade him, but if someone offers up something insane, Hahn has to strongly consider making a move.
  9. I love the swagger. The best part? Yoan doesn't watch doubles. He looks up and it's a no-doubter. A certain former MVP candidate on the north side is an all-time great "off the wall single" guy because of his showboating BS
  10. Baseball is a business and tough decisions are made, but I hate to see comments by Abreu along the lines of "I don't want to leave" We don't want you to leave either, Jose.
  11. Listen to that crowd. God I missed White Sox baseball.
  12. Theo on McNeil and Parkins sounded like he was planning a funeral.
  13. This is pretty crazy: The Cubs and White Sox both have 42 losses.
  14. Superstitions are for north siders. I suggest you take your bum ass there. No need for more sarcastic negativity here.
  15. The rules are the rules and they are collectively bargained. When it's time to re-negotiate the CBA, the players can try to change the rules. And honestly, the "unfair" stuff is kind of silly. They play different sports and have different responsibilities.
  16. I generally am a service time watcher, but the best way to fix the service time problem is to sign guys which, for all the bullshit people say about Rick, Hahn is actually very good at.
