  1. Moncada should always be second. Period.
  2. @Real: Well, something bad might have happened, best go to soxtalk.com and take out my failing marriage on the message board. Soxtalk:
  3. Does Abreu have any value?
  4. Particularly if Anderson is healthy, I agree. I just wonder how desperate a fringe team that thinks they're close would get.
  5. Spoken like someone who hasn't had a bad ankle sprain before. Moncada would have done the same exact thing. That was some scary shit.
  6. Bring him back after the break.
  7. Let him sit a few days
  8. Put Colome on the trade block. See who is desperate.
  9. Now is certainly not the time.
  10. Give it a rest, dude.
  11. Why be happy when we can b****, right? Honestly, if anyone under 1000 posts brings up Tatis off topic, they should instantly be banned. The Astros passed on Kris Bryant and they're fine. Everyone needs to move the hell on.
  12. I can only assume you don't follow basketball at all based on this post. Chicago is not a sought after market in the NBA. Chicago is a crappy place to live during the NBA season. "the despite lack of success" bullshit doesn't fly either. The Bulls were very, very good for a long time before Paxson decided (rightly) to blow it up.
  13. So basically the answer to this question is: they have nothing in common with each other.
  14. It's an old-timey theory about LH vs RH which at this point is basically superstition.
  15. It's difficult to draw any comparisons between two different sports which play in opposite seasons with completely different spending models. The Bulls face difficulties outside of their own organization - NBA FAs signing with Chicago have to live in Chicago during the winter and the team does not currently have any superstars yet. The White Sox play in a league where spending big is king but it's also a chance to really screw up your franchise. There isn't a "cap" per se but their is a limited amount of money most teams are willing to spend. I know this thread is a total fish for us to continue complaining about Reinsdorf, but it's not really a fair comparison. The NBA is a really tough business and the White Sox simply were called on their bluff for Manny Machado.
  16. If you have to put a bunch of qualifiers on it, why ask the question? "Is Ricky the worst of the last 5 managers except Ventura?" I mean, who cares?
  17. Maybe, but remember the leadoff guy and second guy should be OBP guys first. Their job in a configuration like the one I was bringing up was not to drive in runs. They exist almost entirely to get on base. So theoretically you want your three worst guys to bat before the top of the order because the top of the order gets on base.
  18. No reason to be mad about Yoan. He had a couple of hits the next night.
  19. Traditionally, the power hitter bats 3rd, but in reality, the fourth and 5th hitter are more likely to be at bat with more people on base. The 3 slot is severely overvalued in today's game. There is a very high chance the 3 slot comes up to bat with no one on. The 5, on the other hand, has a better opportunity to bat with people on base. The math is a little tricky, but it works out. Want to get really fun? All this discussion only talks about the first inning. There is another school of though which says "get your best player to bat the most". In that case, the leadoff man and the 2 spot should be your best all-around hitters, because once the first inning is over, the leadoff man doesn't necessarily lead off anymore. That's when things get really fun. 1/2 spot should be guys who get on base, 4-6 more power.
  20. Sig predates the name change. I'm working on it.
  21. Eloy made the cut
  22. Cub forum perusing makes me feel better. For every SonofaRoache there are ten on Cubs boards. For everything which makes us different, we are all too similar. PSD has basically decided there is no talent on the Cubs
  23. You won’t be satisfied until a person is killed. That Almora play was horrific
