  1. Give me Eloy and Vaughn. If JR isn't going to pay anyone, we're screwed anyway. Our payroll will be low. I don't honestly believe we'll have trouble paying for a starter.
  2. We have a bilingual person who is a "manager" but I mean, he's not really a manager, lol
  3. Honestly, that's not the same. I'm not saying Spanish speaking is a requirement, but the fact of the matter is a lot of great baseball minds also happen to speak Spanish. As set up, we would benefit greatly from a bilingual manager.
  4. No way. The 80s logos are dated. It was cute for a while, but the current look is a modern classic. The 05 team wore the modern look. It should stay.
  5. Why ever move away from the old English sox logo? It's a bonafide classic. This doesn't appear to be real though. The obvious thing, of course, is the fact they keep referring to the "logo" but in reality it's a typeface or a word mark... Add to that this is posted by a draft pick and not reported by any Chicago media. I don't hate the typeface as a backup for the old English sox logo, but not permanent.
  6. Next year should be fun.
  7. His delivery is such it’s a miracle he made it this long. wish the best for him
  8. If we were a Luis Robert away from contention, I would maybe feel differently. However, we're not.
  9. Honestly, the stupid “they need to pull him up now” takes need to die. An extra year in a player’s prime is more valuable than a month-ish in a losing season.
  10. I expect a huge influx of hall of very good players now.
  11. Please add @vilehoopster to that list. Honestly, I would throw in cash considerations to make his takes go away. Trade Andrew Vaughn? WTF
  12. Whatever it costs in adjustment time is made up for the fact you get an extra peak season. You can't debate your way out of this. The White Sox are better letting Robert stay in the minors to maximize team control.
  13. Luis will have time to adjust in 2020
  14. 76ers are not an MLB franchise and are not relevant to this discussion
  15. Richie just took @Fan O'Faust and Greg to the cleaners. He basically just deregistered their accounts
  16. If I'm a player, I don't sign anything until the next CBA. He's already set for life. If rules regarding service time change for active players, there will be gobs of money flying around to sign these guys.
  17. The point remains: It's unlikely the Sox are going to sign Robert and he is going to be in the minors for the remainder of the season to prolong the window.
  18. I was on the board during the draft this year and Vaughn was considered a "safe" pick. Kris Bryant was a no brainer pick and the Astros passed on him. You get credit for all your draft picks.
  19. You're all over the place, but signing the Cuban guys is going to be harder because they got huge signing bonuses with their teams. The comps are interesting and everything, but the Cuban guys are just a different discussion when they hit
  20. Andrew Vaughn and Nick Madrigal...
  21. Because they acquired him with a $50 million price tag and he hasn't played a major league game. Plus, anything they give Robert is going to come back to bite them when Moncada and all the other young phenoms want to get paid. If you overpay Robert, you're doomed to overpay everyone else and the window shrinks.
  22. The deal would have to be team friendly. Moncada and Robert were signed for big money and don’t need to settle for a team friendly contract.
