QUOTE(bad at best @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) oooh. ooooh. i know this one! they are all really f***ing white? Well, actually I meant they're all poor prospects. Ignant racist.

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 03:14 PM) What's that? Dye chasing a flyball to his left.

Like watching someone trudge through quicksand....

QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) I would have corrected you if you were wrong. I think it's safe to say that it's not wise to get in Ozzie's doghouse. Hmm, what do Anderson, Tracey, and McCarthy have in common, again?
-
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) you think Tracey is in the same talent category as McCarthy and Anderson? or are you implying some sort of devious ozzie guillen plan to get rid of players he personally doesn't like? I'm not implying anything. I'm answering a question directed towards Fathom. I could be misinterpreting his post, but I doubt it.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) who was the other one? and who has to go? I have to believe the two are McCArthy and Tracey, the other is Anderson.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 10:12 AM) The gun at the cubs game topped prior out at 94 mph on one of his fatballs. Of course the scout's guns were totally different saying he sat at 84-86 mph and topped at 88-89. Wonder why their gun was so off?? I read that in the Sun Times. You figure either the Cubs are intent on dealing Prior (which I believe is a poor decision) or attempting to appease the baseball retarded with some imaginary 92-94 mph fastballs.

Remember, this is Danks' second start of Spring Training. Floyd has already had several. It's possible management is grooming him for a relief role, but I'm more willing to bet five innings out of Danks is more important than five out of Floyd. With scheduling issues and other starters to worry about (including Russell tomorrow), perhaps the decision was made without much thought. Besides, both have their own starts next week.

I just hope that thing doesn't get in the way of chatting.

I'd wouldn't mind having an in depth discussion about Jesus with that girl in the pink sometime.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Gookie Dawkins, SS. If I fail to click on the quote for validation, you're still technically considered a racist. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) So is it safe to say Legend is a lock for the 'pen? More important than results, does Logan listen to spicy Latin music and fit into the clubhouse? If so, there's no doubt he'll be in the bullpen. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) Erstad easy out. Wait, where's the obligatory grinder comment? It just looks strange without it. -

I don't care if Haeger imploded, to be honest. We absolutely need him with the 5th starters spot a question mark. If this afternoon's performance decides his fate I would understand (6ER in 4IP is bad, REAL bad). I just have to imagine everything from the weather to Arizona itself made Haeger's knuckleball nothing but an ephus pitch. -

QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:57 PM) Multi hit games.........like the one Erstad had yesterday? Hmmm What don't you get here? The point in Anderson outproducing Erstad is to make a decision to send him down less likely. If Guillen asks Brian to step it up, and he does, I would hope a roster spot remains. It's that simple. -

QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) Hilarious, stepping it up is hitting a single? Too bad Grinderstand has a single and a run scored. No, stepping it up is stringing together multi hit games with more frequency between now and the end of spring training. A single is not much, but it's a start. -

Nothing would be better then Anderson ending the season on a hot streak. Considering Guillen said Brian has to "step it up" in the newspaper, and he's already responded with a single, it'd be hard for management to justify sending down Anderson if he's hitting better than Grinderstad. -

Haeger sounds like dog doo-doo. Definitely not helping his cause if he's on the bubble and the coaches are looking past his durability. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:13 PM) Brad Thomas on for relief of Ramirez. Dye first pitch GIDP. Inning over. We waited 45 minutes for that? 29 DP's this spring for the White Sox. Most in the league. -
This doesn't surprise me. IIRC, a History Channel segment on UFO's stated France actually created an official government report several years ago which detailed the possibility of an alien encounter. It's obvious that people within high command in France country don't push away the topic as we do in America.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) Some of the minor leaguers I've talked to sound a little disappointed about the whole situation with Brian. You have to figure Anderson is a great teammate, and whatever problems management has with him aren't due (alone) to his inability to produce offensively. I know people have stated on numerous occasions that their may exist "behind the scenes" issues, but I don't understand why -- if true -- it couldn't be resolved.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) Guys just don't drop that much velocity and then pick it right back up again. The White Sox sold his velocity drop on the extra workload in the playoffs and the World Baseball Classic. A lot of people bought it. There had to be something wrong. Then Freddy says he had some problems last year in his introductory press conference in Philadelphia. It wouldn't surprise me that if something is wrong that requires surgery, the Phillies ask for compensation. It would be ridiculous if they got it. Are you suggesting compensation from the White Sox if Garcia requires surgery? If that's what you mean, Philadelphia can whine all they want -- they're not receiving s***. Physicals are done for a reason. This isn't like an apparently healthy Gary Majewski magically developing arm troubles following a deal from the Nationals. Garcia's velocity has been rather stagnant for over a year. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Seriously though, if Toronto didn't get compensated for Mike Sirotka I can't see the Phillies getting it here. This is exactly what I thought of as well. It may cause resentment between organizations, but unless there's clear evidence Williams dealt an injured Garcia no one can do much.

"Velocity concerns since Spring Training began?" LOL, try velocity concerns since last season.

11 hits in 5 innings of work for Vazquez? but..but..but...I thought the ass-whooping from Arizona's B squad was supposed to set him on track?
