  1. Happy Birthday JOO BISH. If I know Nuke, he's already passed out from a night of heavy drinking and violation of several overweight, Mexican prostitutes. When he wakes up Friday, I'll be sure to bump this thread.
  2. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) -- What can we do Tizzle? We're in a skid. But I ain't jumping ship. GO SOX!
  3. 'Best Record In Baseball' argument for ignoring our troubles has officially been eliminated tonight with a Cardinals win. I suppose now members, as well as Hawk, will have to actually examine this team rather than rely on this distinction.
  4. Crede with a crude 0-7 performance tonight. And I love how he continues to ignore the 3rd base line. Anderson with an ugly swing to end the game against Nathan.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) Oh well. We're still 11 games up and our first 4 game losing streak comes in mid August. This "who cares" attitude needs to stop. Our postseason position is not guaranteed. Before you know it, we'll be saying "oh well" when our lead is trimmed to 8 games. Then 5 games. We need improvements on this club immediately. This offense is terrible. Can't score in 9 innings off Minnesotas bullpen how do you expect to fare off Anaheim's? Or Oaklands?
  6. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) What a offensive outburst last 2 innings. It's obvious they're all trying to end this game on one swing. As a result, every batter is stepping to the plate swinging at early pitches and popping them out.
  7. Guerrier still in? Alright. We'll just take our victory now.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Gotta take advantage of that momentum Sox win it next inning. In years past, Minnesota wouldn't have made that mistake. They're as fundemental as a team can be, and when they give you opportunities to win you must take them.
  9. Morneau has shortened his swing against Cotts. Something our hitters have failed to adopt in situations they've been unable to catch up to a pitchers fastballs. I'd try atleast one breaking ball here.
  10. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) HOLY s***! I didn't even notice. THAT f***ING SUCKS! I had to do a double take the second inning. Nathan and Guerrier have similar body types, deliveries.
  11. This is f***ing ridiculous. Another bloop hit Lew Ford special.
  12. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Boy that Crede is the best pop up man I've ever seen I've said in the chatroom Walker should convince Crede to purposely hit pop ups every AB. If we tell him not to do it, and he does, perhaps it'll change when we instruct him to do so.
  13. Pathetic inning. Anyone notice Joe Crede has looked for a first pitch fastball in two straight AB's, hit it, and recorded two flyouts? He needs bench time because his plate approach is terrible of late.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Good Marte is getting that call low on the outside corner. That's always a good sign. Marte quickly retiring Morneau/Mauer is an even better sign. He's had a reoccuring problem of running LH's full or leaving breaking balls over the plate.
  15. All you Timo haters have to be perplexed right now. Do you cheer for the "clutch" two run double or fear how often Timo may be our leadoff man in the future?
  16. And right there he delivers a base hit into LF. LOL. From now on I'll hold my criticism until the AB is over.
  17. Anderson looks terrible. Make excuses all you want about jitters or inexperience, but the swings he's put up there are disgusting.
  18. Quick inning for Garcia. Expect him out in the 8th inning under every circumstance except a White Sox lead. Then, as has happened several times before, he'll give up a HR and Guillen will have to remove him. Garcia never seems to be removed between innings.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) What's the chances Garcia starts the 7th? If Garcia battles through this inning and escapes, and the offense fails to scratch across the run, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the 8th. Even worse if we tie it, the likelihood Garcia comes out increases more.
  20. My philosophy is if Matt Murton can contribute for nearly a month (estimation with 48 AB's), anyone can. If Anderson is our top hitting prospect, I would appreciate more than a .214 Timo-esque average over his extended stay on our club. If he hits .260-270 as Danman projected, I won't have a problem. But if he struggles mightily I'll be concerned.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Can someone with TV coverage tell me how Anderson has looked? First AB was worked over by Radke on several changeups and struckout. Second AB made contact, advanced Uribe into second, but was thrown out at 1st.
  22. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) Wow ! We might actually win a game at home If the objective of baseball didn't involve scoring more runs than the opposition I'd feel more confident about winning tonight. Radke is dealing.

Celebrity crushes of mine few have had? Mira Sorvino ("Romy And Michele's High School Reunion") Rachel Weisz ("Constantine")
  24. Great to observe another pitiful game infront of a sellout crowd.
  25. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) You hear that sound? It's the Joe Crede for Gold Glove bandwagon coming to a screeching halt. How many misplays is that for Crede lately? Crede's Gold Glove campaign unofficially ended the night he bobbled Ramirez' foul out. Crede's errors have a knack of leading to runs. Politte needs to pich over his mistake and preserve this deficit as it currently stands.
