Ozzie is complementing Ordonez's attitude. Claims White Sox management attempted to sign him three different opportunities.
-
Ozzie believes the team fielded this year has an opportunity to win the division..... First minute or so I couldn't understand a damn word he was saying.

LET ME HOLLA AT YA PLAYA! Now begins your reign of terr....ific management.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) Maybe you shouldn't be allowing wide open touchdowns...then stuff like that won't happen. Everyone broadcasting on FOX were practically crying after the pass was completed. Green Bay Packers love is too noticeable with Aikman, Buck, other douche.
-
Hilarious. Randy Moss mimes pulling down his pants and mooning the crowd after completing a touchdown pass. Joe Buck was acting like a little b****; complaining it was "classless" and remarking "I can't believe we aired this."

QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) I'm not particularly mad about the word gay not being allowed here. It's how when someone uses the word gay, everyone freaks out like he just said "OSAMA BIN LADEN IS BOSS". If some new guy slips, who gives a f***? But no, there's always the guy who'll say "You know, that word isn't allowed here" and then everyone flips out and then another huge debate on the word gay happens. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10576&hl=

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) You know what guys you convinced me. Marte for Castillo is a good deal. I totally forgot we even had Munoz. I think that we could survive without Marte and I think Castillo would be more valuable. However I would want to have the Marlins take Willie as well because he's just taking up roster space that should be used to bring Burke back as the third catcher/backup CIF. Marte/Harris for Castillo The more I think about it the better that sounds... You sound as if Munoz possesses potential to replace Marte's talent. Sox desperately need a strong bullpen for no other reason than El-Duque's questionable health. If he enters a "dead-arm" stretch, and is unable to eclipse 5 innings, I'd wonder how the bullpen would manage for 4 innings without Marte. Personally, I can't stand these offseaon moves in which we take one step forward- two backwards. It's obvious with the offense, which was often inconsistent, change was imminent; but our bullpen was never dependable. Politte/Hermanson/Marte/Vizcaino/Shingo is a stellar bridge to assemble from starter to victory. If any of our starters have a mediocre outing, Ozzie will have no restraint in removing his pitchers. It may sound ridiculous to covet Marte over Castillo, but I believe he's incredibly vital to our teams success.

Report: Mets, Beltran finalizing deal
Flash Tizzle replied to Scwible's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
If Astros are unable to land Ordonez, add Houston owner Drayton McLane to the list of baseball executives unwilling to negotiate with Boras. Astro fans are (rightfully) furious over this midnight decision from Boras. MLB boards are full of disgruntled messages towards Boras and New York. Another fanbase irked, another example of baseball economics gone awry. It must be frustrating to hear Beltran compliment every fascet of the Houston organization, yet let Boras knowingly prostitute him. Now Beltran can hear the criticism following every slump, every vital strikeout in the ruthless New York media. -
QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) Does this mean the whiners and complainers on this board are going to stop whining and complaining? Probably not. s***, I've already drastically limited my whining following Jermaine Dye's signing. Even Cubkilla himself must applaud Williams' commitment to our club.

White Sox exact offer to A.J. Pierzynski...

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) The release of contract information in the cases of both Iguchi and AJP have not come out of the Sox camp. AJP Information- AJP's agent Iguchi Information- Japanese Newspapers Thanks for playing. :headshake Information doesn't need to come out of "Sox camp." Pierzynski and Iguchi's agent's don't heed to Williams beliefs, as they are attempting to give their agents the best possible offers. When contract information/interest is made public, as I've referenced in my previous posts, Williams "under the radar" isn't beneficial to our efforts in obtaining players. I don't know how much longer you will continue this useless argument. You are defending Williams, while I'm simply suggesting recent news of Iguchi's offer goes against F.U.R. policy. Are you going to continue to PM me following every post, as to make sure you have the final word? Fine. I fail to understand the difficulty with accepting my position. -
White Sox exact offer to A.J. Pierzynski...

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) I'm so sick and tired of these posts. So, which is it? Do you want Kenny to inform the public on each and every move he makes? or do you want Kenny to fly entirely under the radar and ignore any comments made by other clubs? I don't get it. Kenny is operating as if the Sox are the only team pursuing Iguchi? How is that any different from any of his other "radar" tactics? If he were to go out and say he was in a bidding war with another team, then, everybody would jump off a cliff because we couldn't win a bidding war. But, if Kenny acts as if we are the only ones interested in a player, or shows any form of mild interest, everyone yells "radar." Right now, Kenny is negotiating with both AJP and Iguchi. He has gone public with one (possibily two) of his offers and has shown the Sox faithful that he is very serious about these two players. What more can we ask of him? :rolly It's quite simple what I stated. Let me break it down very....slowly.. for complete comprehension. All of the public interest in Iguchi, whether it's figures detailing our contract or articles discussing our interest, goes against Williams "flying under radar" mentality. Not that he has to publically state his intentions of signing Iguchi, for example, but interest in AJ is unquestionable. In the past, Williams has stated publically (believe me or not, because I cannot locate the link) in which he expresses dismay with AJ's agent releasing contract proposals. IMO, release of contract information is in stark contrast with Williams policy. Perhaps Kenny believes the public perception of our involvement may incline another organization to act. -
QUOTE(raff @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) im all for ethnic slurs on a message board, as long as no one is offended. if someone is, they can post it and then it can be banned. as far as catching the quote, good job dybber This has the potential of turning ugly. Personally, absolutely nothing (besides a direct, personal insult) posted on this website has the capability of offending me. Regardless, I understand the need to install some remnants of censorship.

White Sox exact offer to A.J. Pierzynski...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) If they are only 300,000 per year apart, this deal will get done. Which may be correct, but I don't appreciate these negotiating tactics. Williams is acting as if we're the only suitors bidding for Iguchi. Publically, we are, but I'm bracing myself for another mystery club stealing Iguchi from our grasp. Our interest sure is a noticeable shift from Williams self appointed "flying under the radar" position. Personally, I find it's ridiculous to observe Mets and Boras debating millions/years, while White Sox are fretting over $600,000. I don't wish to be educated on the nuances of negotiations; just pay the amount to improve our ballclub. -
United Nations is guily of undermining itself. I don't blame Bush for attempting to assemble an independent coalition. After the Oil for Food Scandal, I'd question UN methods of distributing 350 million.

Murcie, you may want to edit "Your just jealous" to "You're just jealous" before anyone (besides myself) notices. Grammar police can be brutal.

Ignore a billion dollar industry for a national park? Tourism is the largest source of revenue for many of the Indonesian islands (specifically Sri Lanka) hit by the tsunami. Whiny environmentalists don't stand a chance. I believe you're on track with suggestions of installing advanced detection systems in our oceans. In addition to this, countries should build sirens to warn their citizens of danger.

Dead is a suitable word to describe his recent reporting. -December 21st, 11:30 PM: WSCR 670AM announces White Sox have reached a contract with Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez. ESPN 1000 is currently broadcasting Jim Rome. The local station has been off the air for nearly an hour and a half. -December 22, 9:00 AM: Bruce Levine co-hosts w/ Jay Mariotti, yet fails to mention any White Sox interest in Hernandez. Waits until 10 AM to announce White Sox intentions of signing Hernandez. Sportscenter updates fail to give any indication of an imminent deal. I still hold Levine as a more reputable baseball source, but it was funny waiting for him to mention news which had been reported nearly 12 hours earlier.

It appears to be an annual event around Christmas. Without an abundance of baseball news, and the cold winter weather, many are left bored in their houses. I've noticed these last two days several threads have been locked. That's the tell-tale sign of a disturbance on Soxtalk. Occasionally, one may be locked, but several within a short period is an anamoly. Tempers flarring plus disgruntled members equals increased trolling.

This ongoing fued should entertain Sox fans for quite awhile. Or atleast until Spring Training approaches. Whether it's Around The Horn or his Sun-Times column, hatred for Reinsdorf will only magnify. Not that his biased criticism bothers me, but if anyone was tired of his deep routed anguish directed towards Sox/Bulls, their in for quite a surprise. Mariotti's ego won't tolerate this issue disappearing without him adding in a few shots.

There's too much coordination involved in this. Far too many areas to coverup. What if the passenger never said "Let's Roll," or decided to rush the cockpit? The excuse of shooting down the plane, seemingly as opportunity to place credit to brave passengers, is useless. A conspiracy on this level requires more foundation to fall back on than the uncontrollable actions of passengers. If USAF were under the orders of shooting down Flight 93, the decision was made far before Beamer uttered "Lets Roll." Bush would ultimately have given the order to fire upon a civilian aircraft. If everything your suggesting is true, Bush really lucked out. All events which occured essentially drew attention away from a missle. Whether it's the isolated wreckage, eye witness accounts of the plane (fully intact) crashing, cell phone conversations/cockpit voice recorder picking up no explosions. Personally, I believe the truth would have come out by now. Someone; either a resident of Shanksville or an FBI agent invesitgating wreckage, would have (atleast) anonymously suggested our perception of Flight 93 was wrong. It's too big to sweep under a rug.
-
Seriously, can anyone fathom Al-Qaeda operatives riding their cheap Nissan trucks through Pennsylvania attempting to locate Flight 93? Locals wouldn't be to fond of foreigners brandishing AK-47's in their town, I reckon. Upon finding the plane, which had to have already been flying well within missle range ( No conspiracy here.

Ideal bar, within close promixity (several blocks north of USCF) is Jimbo's. ESPN 1000 White Sox broadcaster Dave Wills often stops by. I agree about McNally's. It's quite possibly the most anti-Cub bar on the Southside of Chicago. Not to single it out; there are many quality pubs along Western Avenue which Sox fans visit.

Anthrax's suspension is underserving. It's not justifiable to hand out a suspension because of his constant bickering, which several (vocal) members have taken great offense to. It's obvious Anthrax dislikes Williams; every move he approves/ignores is highlighted and criticized. Apparently, several members have formed a 'coalition of the willing' to oust Anthrax. I have no problems with members blatantly ganging up on Anthrax. Many of you dislike him, and for that I have no control. I simply believe his suspension is unjust. If we're suspending members due to their stupidity, propencity to argue, or objectiveness, this site will only be comprised of people with similar views. Anthrax is merely the Ying to Soxtalk's Yang. Wtihout anthrax posting his baseless Willaim's rants, the balance of the universe is tilted. You don't want that, do you?

No, nice of you to register with Soxtalk to point this out. :rolly

Queen, I recall two locations relatively close to Mt. Greenwood. 1. 101st and Western Ave. 2. Store located near Pulaski and 67th Avenue (Not certain if 67th avenue is exact location, but it's one block North of McDonalds.)
