  1. Theres a start: Aaron Rowand with a solo HR. 8-3 Phils. Still a long way to go, but we need singles/doubles not solo shots. Bunch them together and we'll begin to get back in this game.
  2. The effeciency of Milton (tonight) tells me if Phillies break this game wide open this game may be ove 2-2, Garland needs a strikeout.
  3. Did it appear to anyone else that Crede gave up on that ball. It was atleast 2 feet away from him and he stood still; letting it go right by.
  4. Jose hits a HR...........OFF A LEFT HANDED PITCHER. Mercy. 2-1 Sox.
  5. Looks like the rain is starting to fall at the Cell.
  6. Everytime a Sox hitter swings through a 91 MPH fastball I feel as if I'm going to puke. AS I TYPE THAT, PAULIE CONTINUES TO DESTROY MILTON WITH A SOLO HR. Tie game: 1-1
  7. Easy inning for Garland; 1-2-3. Lee due up first, looking to extend the hitting streak.
  8. I hate it when Thomas swings at the first pitch. What kills me more is he's looking for a f***ing 92 MPH fastball, hits it, AND POPS IT UP.
  9. Atleast Thome grounded out. Yesterday when Jackson was screwed on a strike three call I knew somehow we would pay. Two pitches later.......Thome serves up a shot of jack.
  10. Jesus Garland, you're ahead two strikes and you lay a cookie. 1-0 Phillies.
  11. Rollins gave that ball a charge into RF, but it stayed in for out 1. Weather is 78 degrees at the Cell, so it won't necessarily be the launching pad it was yesterday
  12. Awesome. This lead should be large enough to guarantee: 1. Cub loss 2. Messiah loss. This is the end............my only friend, the end....... :fthecubs
  13. I agree with your assessment SNB. I was with several friends in the outfield bleachers and not ONE Cub fan was in sight. As Cheat mentioned above, the Cubs were playing at the Urinal and any drunken yuppies already had their night planned Overall it was a great evening of baseball at the Cell. In the row infront of me sat three hot girls who suprised me with their knowledge of the Sox. When the game first began they wouldn't shut up about the new American idol ripoff show on UPN (?), but when Uribe came up to bat (in the second) this blonde was discussing how great of a pickup he was for his our team. She said something about KW then CRACK, Juan serves up a a jack that lands 6 rows in front of us. It wasn't until the fourth where I summoned the balls to initiate a conversation. All I did was simply tell one girl she sure knows her baseball and they invited themselves up to our row. Good times, rest of game we bulls***ted about the Cubs/Sox. I love our fanbase; everyone (from the bleachers to the UD) was into this game. Have to admit when Polittie was summoned from the bullpen I was rather upset (along with everyone within earshot). Luckily the move was money with Cliff pitching a 1-2-3 9th. 33,000 fans witnessed a hell of a game.
  14. Tonights lower deck bowl is sold out, so its reasonable to assume the game will be packed. We've all known for some time these half priced night brings out the trash in this city. With the warm weather, Flub's stadium sold out, and the atmosphere this event usually offers I wouldn't be shocked if several fights erupted. My seats are in Section 160; if the rowdiness is anywhere near that of past dates I'll have some harrowing stories to tell tomorrow. :fthecubs
  15. Tampa Bay has no need for trading anyone.......for anything. Remember they are in the AL EAST, which houses four legitimate teams. There's no hope for competing, so why trade a hard throwing pitcher (who's likely paid squat) for a washed up, 6 million dollar man? Put yourself in the mind of the Tampa Bay GM trying to explain the reasoning behind the move: "I feel Billy Koch gives us a great opportunity to improve ourselves for both the present, and future of this talented organization." We must all admit it right now; Billy Koch is UNTRADEABLE. Besides, there can only be one Jesus in Chicago. :fthecubs
  16. What?! Unfathomable. America's smooth beats and summer-night lyrics transitioned the nation through a decade in which Disco ravaged the airways, and the ideals set forth in Easy Rider were a distant memory. Throughout this tulmultous period for rock music (where numerous artists appeared to have lost their roots) America stayed true and seemingly led the path for groups such as Alabama, Eagles, CSN. "Funny, I've been there........and you've been here........and we aint had no time to drink that beer."
  17. Browsing through the draft selections on MLB.com I came upon an interesting entry: 96th pick (For the Chicago Cubs): MARK REED HS C L/R 5'11" 175 1986-04-13 HS COMMENT: EVENLY PROPORTIONED, ATHLETIC FRAME. ROUNDED SHOULDERS, GOOD UPPER BODY STRENGTH. STRONG DEFINED ARMS & FOREARMS . TRIM WAIST. STRONG CONDITIONED LEGS. SIMILAR TO MIKE LIEBERTHAL. OPEN STANCE. AGGRESSIVE APPROACH, PURE HITTER. VERY QUICK BAT, CONSISTENT HARD CONTACT TO ALL FIELDS. LEVEL, LINE DRIVE STROKE W/ GOOD LEVERAGE & EXTENTION GAP PWR. RECEIVES WELL, FAIR HANDS COMPETITIVE INSTINCTS, BASEBALL SMARTS. LEADERSHIP QUALITIES. OLDER BROTHER, JEREMY, IN WHITE SOX ORG. In the upcoming years its going to be interesting for both (if they make it to MLB) playing on opposite sides of town.
  18. Up to yesterday, I had no prior intention of attending Tues. game at the Cell. Odd how Billy Koch's Chernobyl meltdown changed my mind and beckoned me to buy tickets. May appear to be an odd reason for attending the game (esp. after a dismal roadtrip), but I'm seriously looking forward to the opportunity of showing management (ideally KW/Ozzie) of my displeasure towards our "closer." Lets pray a scenario doesn't arise where the Sox are nursing a lead, and through the bullpen doors walks that f***HEAD. Honestly, tomorrow is Pepsi half price night and we're all aware the scum of society which populates the stands. Not looking forward to some drunken fool running on the field if Botch (for whatever reason) take the mound.
  19. Funny, I was creating a thread which was similar........except it lacked all the personal insults and profanity. No matter, yours is likely to draw a funnier reaction from anthony. If Capn, a notorious Koch supporter, can relinquish his faith maybe its possible Anthony can admit his confidence towards his man is forever shot.
  20. I'm glad no one is attempting to place blame on Carlos Lee for failing to field his position. Koch deserves all the s*** he has/will recieve.
  21. I decided to vanquish my sorrow (along with a smooth, refreshing bottle of Miller Lite) by reading through this thread. Admittingly I'm only on page 4, but this load of crap displayed above is the work of a true MORON. I pray that you guys ripped into him, because what Koch did tonight was inexcusable from a major league pitcher. Beastly says that he would like to see Koch work out of his troubles and one day pitch again for us. Why? Does he not comprehend the cancer this man is to our club, not to mention he isn't worth 1/6 of his current salary. I'm sorry, but this comment was terribly thought out and needed to be torn apart. BTW, grow some balls Beastly. Since when are you concerned about the feelings of Billy Koch? I don't know what you are attempting to accomplish by your level headed comments (probably "proving" to all how mature you are; when in reality you're not)
