  1. Rios, Teahen, Pierre........ Six more outs to score three runs, it seems.
  2. LOL at the fans cheering the ball hitting the umpire.
  3. I hate the feel of this game, from Floyd pitching terribly to Zambrano getting away with filth, and now that last call against Ramirez? It feels like something else goofy is going to happen, like an injury or we'll come back only to lose.
  4. Somehow, Zambrano hanging sliders are the most devastating pitches known to man. No one can square them up.
  5. What's going to annoy me is the Marmol 9th inning. Someone please tell professional hitters to just stand up at the plate and not swing. It's maddening watching him pitch, because its as if no one realizes it.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Here's what kills me. We were up, 3-0 and the s***ty Cubs don't quit and take a 6-3 lead. You think there's any way in hell we come back from our own 3-run deficit? No f***ing way. No, I don't think they'll come back. But the Cubs were down 3-0 in the 1st. We're down three in the 6th.
  7. of course that ball is foul. Lets give Pena an opportunity to drive in some runs!
  8. Pink Floyd coming out this inning. Pitching scared and losing his balls in the process.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) That was a waste of an inning. Zambrano isn't really bringing that much, the Sox should be lighting him up. And I know Konerko has a HR, but jesus, he has had about four hangers from Zambrano alone in his ABs that he has just stared at.
  10. If this were the White Sox going against someone who's hot, and someone who's not is on deck in this situation, we would be killed. The player would hit a three run HR.
  11. Hawk: "That'll get the job done...." May as well hit and run on every Pierre AB because you're guaranteed a weak groundout somewhere. One of the few ways we can make JP productive.
  12. Pena loses a few more pounds every time I watch him.
  13. Zambrano's pacing after pitches. The anger inside that man is building!
  14. Wow, Zambrano's stuff is flat. He has nothing, atleast at this point. That last slider from Quentin that he whiffed on was terrible.
  15. Leadoff single from Pierre. Even if he doesn't run, Pierre can atleast fluster the hell out of Zambrano here.
  16. Good stuff from Floyd thus far. He has done well locating his fastball and the last curveball to DeWitt was filth. Good sign when he's on this early.
  17. There it is, yet again. It's entirely up to Williams to remove Pierre and his influence from the team. Guillen will NEVER get it.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:37 PM) Credit to this board as the reaction to getting dominated by Hudson was a lot less intense than was to be expected It's an embarrassment, but as Greg and others have suggested, it was entirely predictable.
  19. QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) In addendum, it is very easy to hit a golfball 400+ feet. I would love to drive golfballs all over and out of US Cellular with a bat. When I was younger I would hit golfballs from the homeplate area of a nearby park with a driver. Bats were too loud. We would play homerun derby not with the immediate field, but the field that extended beyond it -- easily over 500 ft out.
  20. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) If EJax gets shelled and Hudson throws a gem PHT should probably just be on a 1 day close down I have a expectation of this scenario occuring. It's a feeling similar to pre-Minnesota games. And much like Minnesota games, even though I expect a loss it'll still irritate me when it happens.
  21. During the game Anthony Reyes pitched against us several years ago, Hawk was going on about his old-school mechanics and how great of a pitcher he was going to be one day. I remember for quite awhile afterward people were obsessing over him and trying to find ways of including him in trade scenarios with St. Louis. Additional names: Corey Patterson (esp. when he was with the Cubs) Nate Cornejo Kila Ka'aihue (He played a limited time in 2008, and every year since then, but I recall Hawk going overboard with praise on this kid.)
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 11:40 AM) Anyone see chuck garfien's post-game interview with Humber. He basically laughed in Humber's face about how he was released so many times. (Haha, sure you were "DFA'd" hahahaa." Humber: dead faced) There's something about Garfein's face, his facial expressions, his attitude, that has always irritated me.
  23. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 08:03 AM) Here we go again... http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/...draft-thus-far/ "Shocker white sox pick another good athlete black kid. How about picking a good baseball player" -Oney I don't think it's a big deal, but the media will obviously have a field day. It's not a big deal, and I guarantee a good percentage of knowledgeable Sox fans who are familiar with the organization and how they've drafted recently said exactly the same thing. Also, I understand all the issues surrounding his involvement in the organization and how it's perceived by outsiders so let's not waste time discussing that. I believe what these last several years have shown is a strategy from our organization to take advantage of a market (black baseball multi-sport athletes that is neglected by professional scouts. They're hell bent on trying to develop their Carl Crawford (who was selected 52nd overall in 1999 btw). Honestly, I cannot even comment on this draft overall because I put no time into researching available players. I forced myself several years ago to assume every White Sox prospect is a bust until proven otherwise, and wouldn't you know, I began to feel less concerned with the pile of filth rotting in our system. Sure, it's embarrassing; but unlike several years ago when very few aside from myself were willing to criticize the minor league system, now everyone is aware of it's crappiness.
  24. It pains me to watch the man perform any of the functions of living person, let alone a baseball player. We're stuck with him, and I accept that (this acceptance includes his presence in AB's where a PH would be warranted). However, as J4L suggested, he's just now entering into fun bad -- where you openly cheer to see how far he can fall. Why not make it 0-season against lefties? Wouldn't this be a great achievement to watch?
