  1. What I liked is there wasn't any leadoff runners, no 3-0 counts, just quick and easy.
  2. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 11:22 PM) Sergio really serving up some tattooable s*** here Better not hang one to Pena.
  3. DERPA DERP!!!! I enjoy Adam Dunn AB's. They're just hilariously awful. Please give us a good show, Adam
  4. I become annoyed constantly seeing the Fisk HR and the Gibson HR replayed over and over. Cmon, there have been more than enough quality playoff moments since then that can be used.
  5. YYYYEEEESSSS!!!! I just can't believe Morel didn't fail there and give us the inevitable, once a game, Pierre in a potential game-winning AB scenario. And there's Pierre, unable to take advantage of a wet grass.
  6. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) I'm confused haha, I was in the camp that wouldn't have minded us pitching around him, especially a guy with such poor plate discipline. I can't tell if you agree or disagree I agree, they should have pitched around him. I could have just said that but had more fun going on a confusing rant.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) Exactly. Give me a break about pitching around guys. Our team sucks. Period. Maybe at some point the team will improve and get to .500. But pitch around him? That's stupid. Get him out like Humber would have. I love this quote.
  8. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) In fair he was batting ahead of one of the worst hitters in baseball It's just this crusty old baseball logic of "well, it's the third inning...." So? Think, if other teams pitched around Konerko, Quentin and Alexi every game, whatever the situation, even if bases were loaded and walking those three brought in three runs. I'm confident we'd lose 3/4 of our remaining schedule. Strategy shouldn't just be left untouched until the 7th inning. If you know only two f***ing players can beat you, why go after them? For the purity of the game? LOL. And it's going to be difficult for Castro to steal any bases when there's someone in front of him. Tonight, I'm not confident of our chances because Konerko (albeit in limited ABs) seems to have a good grasp on Garza. He'll pitch around him, I'm fairly confident of that. And that's all I need to know to feel bad about our chances.
  9. At this point in my career, if I was Pierre, I would just be thinking to myself that it's time to do this different. He should try putting on some muscle, pick up a heavier bat; something that could perhaps extend his career. He has always made contact, perhaps with some muscle those weak grounders will find their way through..........or maybe they'll just be hit harder to the second baseman. He sure as hell isn't making much more off of this whole, speedy slappy grindy approach he has had for his career prior to the WhiteSox.
  10. QUOTE (Yoda @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) This only hurts more because we're playing the Cubs. But seriously, only 3 runs and that coming in the 1st inning?! Zambrano's hanging sliders were floating too long, and had to much of the plate, for our hitters liking.
  11. Terrible offensive and pitching effort from the team.
  12. Hanger number 17-18 this game from the Cub pitching staff.
  13. YAY, the illusion of us doing something.
  14. Another hanger that devastates the White sox.
  15. We'd have a leadoff walk if Ramirez just stood at the plate.
  16. MARMOL's typical inning: 1st player -- walk 2nd player -- 1st pitch ball, 2nd pitch ball, 3rd pitch strike (swing out of the zone), 4th pitch foul ball, 5th pitch K (swinging out of the zone) 3rd player -- walk 4th player (repeat of player 2) 5th player -- out (immediately comes up hacking)
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) Elrockin, Ever since 2006 if the Sox lose a game its the end of the season. Used to be a time when this place was fun and optimistic. I just wonder what everyone gets out of wanting to jump off a bridge after every game, doesnt seem like a way to enjoy a sport. Time to update your avatar, Broham. I immediately ignore your posts when I see it. Don't even reply with your nonsense, either. Just do it.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) How does Walker keep his job after a comment like that. I mean, it's not like Blackburn is making it up either. If/when Walker is fired, I want to see the next hitting coach's reaction when working with our players. I'm sure there will be a lot of laughing and/or shock involved, perhaps even crying. at the situation. Walker lets them do all their pre-game scouting via The Show and other video games.
  19. Nice, now we're all treated to a White Sox minor league pitcher serving up some hits.
  20. Eh, Ohman may have retired every player he faced, but he looked far from good during his relief appearance. He's basically that pitcher you put in thinking if he holds the opponent, good, if he doesn't, so be it -- we'll lose having saved the bullpen.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) I think this is one of those seasons we'll just go back and forth between .500 and ten games under...can just never over the hump. Not as bad as 2007, but more frustrating...because we're in it "just enough" to keep from doing anything to change our roster or TRY any younger players on an extended basis. Basically, you described Baseball Hell. Looks like 2012 will be another one of those seasons where we're hoping players play up to the expectations because we're sure as hell not doing a lot of trading and FA signings.
  22. "Look at the play by Pena..." IT WAS HIT RIGHT TO HIM! He had to move a foot to his right.
  23. If you cant hit that last meatball from Zambrano you don't deserve to play. That has to be the 10th hanger he has thrown down the middle.
