QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) We did Disney last summer with our then-2 year old. He had a blast and it was great. Magic Kingdom has enough kid rides (the carousel, dumbo, little mermaid, peter pan, aladdin's carpets, maybe pirate of the Caribbean, people mover, etc). Make sure you utilize the fastpasses and the disney app for wait times. One issue you'll have is nap time. Luckily for us our son tired out in the middle of the day and took 1-2 hour naps in his stroller while the wifey and I rotated on roller coaster rides. And if your kid loves disney characters, try to get a character dining experience. Reservations are a must. Try to go through your resort desk if you can't get them online. The restaurant in the Beauty and the Beast area was good if you can't get in anywhere else. It's insanely busy and overpriced, but at Downtown Disney there's a dinosaur-themed restaurant that my son loved (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/downtown-disney/t-rex/). There's a "meteor shower" every 15 minutes or so and all the dinos (animatronic, and there are a lot) move around and roar. 20 month might be to young if he/she scares easily though. Reservations are also key or you'll wait forever. Never been to Universal. Seemed to be geared more towards adults than kids. We rode dumbo 6 times - she had a blast. Luckily, she napped in the stroller at about 2, which bought us a few more hours. Worked out great. Universal had Dr. Seuss land, which she enjoyed. We came back later that day after we left her w/ grandma and granpda and had a blast. The harry potter world is crazy good and I'm not even a fan.

My folks won a free trip to Orlando and we're going this week w/ my 20 mo old. Any recommendations/must do's? Anything my toddler would really be interested in? Doing 1 day at magic kingdom and 1 day at universal. The rest will be relaxing at the resort.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 02:15 AM) I don't hate RV at all. In fact, if I met RV I would shake his hand vigorously and say "you were one of my heroes and my pops loved you too; way to work back from that horrific injury you had". That said, dude is in the .0001% of dads that can take 3 days off work for graduation and nobody gives a f***. Lot of working class dads out there that would love to do the same. What kind of ridiculous jobs have you had where you can't take 3 days off?

One good month will put the sox right back in it. Extend this 3 game winning streak to 5 and don't immediately give it right back next week.

So....how was there a boat waiting for Jon Snow at the end of that whole ordeal? People were going crazy looking for a way out and there's a very convenient boat just waiting for him. Fantastic episode, but this part annoyed the crap out of me.

I played White Pines West Course on Friday. Holy crap, if you miss w/ your driver - you are screwed. Trees just line those fairways.

I binge watched the entire first season of Silicon Valley over the weekend. What a silly, entertaining show.

I've become obsessed with making ribs as of late. 3 hours in the oven, then 10 minutes on a scorching hot grill - pure char heaven.

QUOTE (WBWSF @ May 20, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) The White Sox should be ashamed of themselves for selling SRO tickets for $75. I'm in a season ticket package so it doesn't affect me. But still to charge that much for SRO tickets is shameful. I think it's another PR mistake for the White Sox. Go on stubhub and get $20 UD tickets if you're concerned about price. -
QUOTE (farmteam @ May 17, 2015 -> 01:31 AM) There's a waitress at World of Beer in Evanston whose favorite beer is something from Oskar Blues. Every time I'm there (which is maybe once or twice or year when I'm back in Chicago) one of my friends has to ask her "What's the beer you always recommend?! It's your favorite!!" Half hilarious, half facepalm. Thank you for reminding me about G'Knight!

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 12, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) This was for Beer Shop, right? They change their taps a ton, like at least two each time I've been there. You might have caught them just after they tapped a new one. Exit Strategy.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 8, 2015 -> 01:26 PM) Yeah did they open up yet? I live within walking distance. I went there last Saturday, give it a few more weeks. They didn't have quite a few beers on their menu ready yet.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ May 5, 2015 -> 02:55 PM) I got a chance to play in a charity golf tournament for the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta yesterday. My boss couldn't go, so he asked me to fill in. Besides the fact that I got to take the day off work, it was a beautiful day (80 and sunny) and I played really well. And it didn't hurt that the course was well stocked with beer and other drinks/snacks. Now I just have to find a way to do this more often. One of the major reasons I started to get more involved in golf was because I started getting invited to some of our corporate events. The state farm event at Cog Hill is just absurd. Free Beer/Food/Balls/Merch at every hole, huge lunch after the round, etc.

IPA's are ok, but my favorite beers are dry, somewhat hoppy, red ales. Unfortunately, there's not that many of them out there. My favorites have been: Kingpin Double Red Ale and Sierra Nevada's Flipside Red IPA. Any other rec's?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) Are they playing the "Mario picks up a coin" sound when a runner crosses home plate? I'll give them compliments on that if so. they've been doing that for years...

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 20, 2015 -> 08:31 AM) This new non-bluegrass, electronica, we want to be U2 or Coldplay Mumford & Sons " " song sucks huge ass. If the whole album is going to suck like this, I'm going to be very sad. It's literally just a coldplay song, I was so dissapointed. I love the folk rock sound.

Hit 105 on Saturday, my best round ever (don't laugh). I used to be in the 120ish range when I would only play a couple times a year. Nice to be able to feel somewhat competent on the course. I had way too many 3 putts for my own good. Time to substitute putting green practice in place of driving range pracitce.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) Went to Fire game today. Wow, David Accam makes them a much more entertaining team. Altidore looked awful. His pace is absurd and his first touches were great. The fire have been missing someone like him for awhile now. Hopefully this makes them watchable. -
Holy crap, the PGA tour superstore is so much better than golfsmith it's not even funny.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 03:10 AM) It was very suspenseful, but I felt like it led to nowhere....... It was a fine episode, but definitely not a good season finale. Nothing major really happened...

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 25, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Does anyone know a good place for lessons in the Schaumburg area, I finally invested in a decent set of Rocketbladez last year but I'm god awful to the point I swing and miss at times. Really want to get to the point where I can make some progress. I went through 3 different instructors before I found one that I really liked. He's in Downer's and it's indoors, but I really enjoyed my lessons w/ him. http://golfbigc.com/?page_id=59

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 25, 2015 -> 01:58 PM) Stock shaft? Where does the ball strike the clubface? Shafts are often overlooked but often the cause of a club not performing because it doesnt get to the ball correctly I'm pretty sure it's the stock shaft. Most of my hits seem to be a little higher than the sweet spot of the face. Maybe just get the club shortened?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 25, 2015 -> 12:21 PM) Smaller and controllable? That doesnt compute. My guess its not the club itself. What kind of shaft is on it? I believe it's this club, a hand me down from my FIL. http://valueguide.pga.com/detail-exec/bran...%20Bertha%20460 I just think the big head plays games w/ me mentally. It's huge, but I can't seem to hit the sweet spot on the club. Distance is awful, I can hit my 3H just as far.
