Instead, they traded prospects for bad players who they thought they could "fix". It just made no sense to me. You're in a division race. Why take a chance on acquiring an aging pitcher who had been god awful the entire season so they could try to "fix" him midseason? That doesn't seem like a sound strategy at all.
