  1. Robert Murray‏Verified account @RobertMurrayFRS 7m7 minutes ago More Regarding Brewers interest in Quintana/Gray, two rival execs think price to get either would be Lewis Brinson, Josh Hader, Brett Phillips. Replace Hader with Ortiz and add a 4th piece and I do that deal. Doubt Brewers would though
  2. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:00 PM) It's their 2nd, 3rd and 6th best prospects for a SP who's ERA is 4 and WHIP is 1.3. Pint is getting touched up a bit in A ball and walks a lot of guys. Murphy is a 26 year old catcher and the other guy sports a high 4 ERA in AA. No thanks.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) Pint, Murphy and Castellani for Q? That's awful for the Sox. I think it has to be one of Rodgers/Dahl, McMahon, Lambert, and Gomez
  4. Hit and Run‏ @HitAndRun670 .@Mike_Ferrin predicts Jose Quintana ends up with the #Rockies. #WhiteSox
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) Avi Garcia is not in tonight's line up. #HugWatch
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 09:30 AM) The one thing worth noting is that Milwaukee's AAA team plays in Colorado, which means there are going to be a lot of altitude driven stats. Out of their top 10 hitters wise, only Brinson and Phillips play there and I'd still gladly take both.
  7. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 08:24 AM) Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 44s Sources: #Brewers are prepared to buy at Trade Deadline and have begun background work on Jose Quintana, Sonny Gray and other starters. @MLB Brinson, Ortiz, and Gatewood. or Ray, Ortiz, Phillips, and Supak
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 6, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) Seems like a much more realistic headliner for Robertson than Soto. Agreed, and one I would gladly add to the Sox farm system.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) Rick Hahn has the best job in America by far. So for about five years he can put the worst team imaginable on the field (LOL, cringe worthy rotation of Pelphrey, Miguel G, Holland, Shields) and be lauded and loved for it. "Good job Rick," Reinsdorf will say after the season, "you are doing a good job of losing and getting us top draft picks. Hope you can keep acquiring horrible players so we can lose even more games." Then in the meantime he trades the few good older players we have. Real difficult. Anybody could sit in an office and trade Eaton or Sale or Robertson or Q. Oh wait ... he hasn't even traded Robertson or Q yet in the supposed rebuild. So in conclusion, what a great great job Hahn has: Lose as many games as possible with the worst players you can assemble while working on trades that anybody could execute. Obviously Boston wanted Sale. So you get a list of their best position player hitting prospect, Moncada, real difficult to pull off. Sign a top guy like Robert. Everybody wanted him. Real difficult to pull off. Hahn can enjoy 4-5 more seasons of horrid baseball and be praised for it, cause it gets us a good draft pick. I hope Hahn is enjoying his easy high paying job, putting a loser on the field and fans not being mad but saying, "PLEASE LOSE MORE!" Dude, just give it up. You're impossible to deal with.
  10. Greg, We traded Gordon Beckham to the Angels couple years ago for a PTBNL. That player was Yelncy Almonte. We turned Yelncy Almonte into Tommy Kahnle for 2 months of Gordon Beckham. So yes, no matter the value, trade guys who will 100% not be back.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 6, 2017 -> 10:35 AM) Jon Morosi‏Verified account @jonmorosi 2m2 minutes ago More Sources: #Nationals showing interest in #Reds closer Raisel Iglesias. He has a 1.59 ERA, 15 of 16 in save opportunities. @MLB @MLBNetwork If teams want Robles/Soto, I could see why the Nats are aiming higher than Robertson.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 03:41 PM) Plus, Albers and Turner have done surprisingly well for them...additional anecdotal evidence for the AL is much tougher than the NL argument. Turner just got DFA'd and Albers has been returning to his old self
  13. I think Kahnle could net a top 50 prospect and 2 fliers
  14. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) Tier 1: Could go quick and will almost assuredly go for decent return - Frazier/Robertson Tier 2: Could go at any point for a song - Holland/Pelfrey Tier 3: Productive but expect a lack of interest/return given performance - Swarzak/Melky Tier 4: Return dependent - Q/Kahnle Past that, it'd be a shock to see them move Avi. Jennings could but isn't all that interesting. There's really 8 guys. Hopefully the Sox trade 5-6 of them. Define song please And you don't think Swarzak could net an organizational top 25 prospect?
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2017 -> 01:02 PM) This is appalling. The White Sox have acquired some really awful baseball players and yet everybody keeps their jobs. Somebody thought Shields could pitch and the Sox had to take over a lot of money on his contract. Very bizarre. He had given up 10 runs the start before the Sox got him and was called out by SD for his ineptitude. And we throw a good prospect in the Erik Johnson for Shields deal. Weird. Out of all the prospects the Sox have traded over the years, who has done well for themselves? The best that comes to my mind is Gio Gonzalez, but we got Jim Thome and Chris Young
  16. Who will be the first traded, to where, and for who? Go.
  17. I loved Enzo's promo on Cass last night.
  18. Hawks signing Tommy Wingels too. Awesome Saad-Toews-Panik Schmaltz-Anisomov-Kane Sharp-Wingels-Hartman Hayden-Kero-Jurco Dauphin/Hino/Tootoo I really like that forward group
  19. Hawks resigning Sharp to a huge discount. Most likely under 1 million.
  20. Abbott with 2 walks. 3 walks so far on the season Call 0-2 K and then got replaced with Crutcher. Hopefully everything is ok
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) I have second row seats for tomorrow, so a doubleheader would be pretty awesome from my standpoint. I have tickets for tomorrow as well. Section 122
  22. I think a very fail deal for both Quintana and Robertson is Frazier, Adams, Andujar, and Florial. 2 top 50 prospects and 2 more prospects on the verge of top 100 status.
  23. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball...ticle-1.3288375 Interesting article that Sox and Yankees could make a big trade.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) Cool. I have no idea why he's not more visible in the Sox family. Seems like such a great guy that grew up a Sox fan. He is a great guy still with a great forkball.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 29, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) The Pope Donn Pall still can bring it too. Dude, I play on a men's baseball team with him. Went to HS with his son. He's still great. Striking out guys half his age
