QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) Lmao, Mark Parent tossed before the game started Lmao, that's awesome. What was he arguing about ? -
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 09:28 PM) What position though, 2B? Well he's been playing SS with the Dash so maybe there? Johnson will likely start in AA at 2B

It was nice to see Cotts pitch again. Did a great job in 05 -
DeMichele with a walk off grand slam. I wonder if we see him in AA next year?

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 08:22 PM) He said it's likely all three will start at Winston-Salem, and all three have a chance to reach Birmingham by the end. I just want Barnum to stay healthy for 135 games. I'd like that too. But with all 3 moving up. That line up can be.very exciting with May, Anderson, Hawkins, Barnum and DeMichele. Also Danish in A debut and 2 scoreless, 1 hit and 4 K's

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 08:04 PM) I believe Buddy Bell said yes to all this afternoon... http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/986-670-...-interviews#986 Link didn't work for me

Montas with 6 innings striking out 9 and allowing 1 run. Very good outing.
-
Montas 4 innings, 3 hits and 2 walks with only giving up 1 ER. Also has 5 strikeouts. Solid outing so far.
-
Do you guys think we can see Barnum, Anderson and May all start next year with WS?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 07:08 PM) 0-2, 2k for Hawkins FutureSox on Twitter mentioned that he saw nothing but breaking balls. Dipping on inside breaking balls and opening up on outside
-
DeMichele first pitch HR.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) Buddy Bell just said Micah Johnson will be sent to Birmingham for their playoffs. Wow. Good for.Micah

Excited to see how Johnson, Danish and Montas do tonight.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Brad Goldberg to W-S. http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=2...sp&sid=t487 He certainly deserves the promotion

With the recent great outings Lindstrom has been having, I would imagine someone wants him to solidify their bullpen. With him clearing waivers, he can be traded to anyone.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) It's the 16 BBs that's the issue for me. On a team with a strong lineup 1-7, then Ramirez's skillset works well batting 9th. The problem is we have too many low OBP hitters as it is. At some point, we have to remove some of these guys from the equation and Alexei is one of the more expensive variables. I still like Alexei, I think he has value, but his bat doesn't work well on our team IMO. LOL seriously? He's been the most consistent hitter all year on this team.

May starts off game 2 with a single and steals 2nd and 3rd. Barnum also with a double.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) I see your point but my argument would be with the chance to compete next year. Why not keep our established closer, who is young, controllable for 3 more years after this and go from there. It all starts with pitching, if anyone is getting traded its Danks, Quintana or Santiago. Because of the emergence of Johnson and Rienzo
-
QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:21 PM) I'm simply saying that yes he is talented and young but he is a luxury on this team, especially because he could go to a team looking to contend for a world series title and bring the sox back a nice haul similar to what Boston gave up in acquiring Bailey(Reddick) and Melancon(Lowrie). I see your point but my argument would be with the chance to compete next year. Why not keep our established closer, who is young, controllable for 3 more years after this and go from there. It all starts with pitching, if anyone is getting traded its Danks, Quintana or Santiago.

QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) I know I'm suppose to be rooting for the draft pick, but I kind of like seeing my team win. I love when the Sox still win. Shows improvement, confidence in the young guys, and hope for next year.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:10 PM) The Sox have a chance to compete next year, so they should get rid of their closer because only teams with a shot to compete need a closer? People wanting Reed out as closer just don't have a case. Jones is best for a set up role. And Webb needs to prove something in the show first before being named closer.
-
QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 18, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) I don't think he sucks, I just think he isn't a valued asset on a "retooling" team and that his high leverage innings could be replaced by the likes of Jones or Webb. The sox have an outside chance to compete next year, its foolish to keep an above average "closer" on a team that isn't expected to contend. How not? He's 24 years old, has been the closer for 2 years and with good and bad teams. People that think he's not a good closer don't have a case of replacing him. He has now saved 31 of 36 games. And 2 of those blown saves the defense was to blame.

Reed has a 3.36 era. His era would be in the high 1s if it weren't for the Mariners 5 run outing
