  1. Sox 4 pitchers have a combined 0.69 era so far and Mitchell is having a really good fall
  2. If Sox do trade one of their pitchers like Santiago, how would you guys feel if Hahn went after Lincecum on a 2 year deal worth 24 million?
  3. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) I am really hoping that they draft Kel Johnson in the second round. He can be the 1B of the future, and he can really hit. I would also like to see some left handed bats be added to the system as well. Remember about Keon Barnum. He was hit with the injury bug last season but started finished strong. He still has a good future in my opinion QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) It would be difficult to pass on Hoffman. Sox don't need pitching right now. You can get pitching in the later rounds. QUOTE (staxx @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 01:35 PM) At this point id be shocked if we don't end up with either Hoffman/Gatewood/Turner I would be perfectly fine with Gatewood or Turner preferably Gatewood. Get a top position prospect that can be a factor in the line up in 2-3 years.
  4. I'm getting a feeling that we are going to see the Gillaspie/Keppinger platoon for at least this year. My feeling is that obviously that we should be getting a catcher through free agency. But, my feeling is that if we do trade pitching, it will be for a CFer or a RFer and move Garcia to center. I just don't know who's available via trade in the OF. Anybody got information on that front? Reddick? Jennings? Markakis? Stanton?
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 02:12 AM) Gatewood, Jackson, and Rodon are ones I am hoping for. For some reason I just don't want Tyler Beede to fall to #3. He'll fall to 3 but I just don't see the Sox taking him there. I see Gatewood at 3 then some pitching after that.
  6. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Oct 19, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) I am drafting Gatewood, because he has the highest potential and ceiling out of any player in this draft class. He can be a true cornerstone player for the Sox and his bat could be something truly special. Plus, I can see him being a superstar player that will help bring fans back to the Cell Completely agree. My vote goes to Gatewood to take at 3. Him along with Hawkins figuring it out and Thompson keeps improving. This farm system won't be in the bottom 5 in the next few years.
  7. Those talking about Phillips. Olney just retweeted something saying that the Braves want Phillips if the Reds take back Uggla and Braves would add a top prospect or 2. Can't get the tweet because I'm on my iPod. But there ya go.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 03:11 PM) Purcey outrighted to AAA. 40-man at 36. Good. Sign Cecil for the bullpen and get done guys via trade now.
  9. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:21 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/trade-specula...00859--mlb.html Wow. I didn't see that coming. But I think we would trade for a 3B impact bat or an OF bat because I really believe Semein will be in the middle infield.
  10. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:18 AM) Wonder if the agents would be involved if the Sox were negotiating a trade for one of the players they represent. Brandon Phillips is reportedly being shopped by the Reds. David Wright? Where did you hear the Reds are shopping Phillips?
  11. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:08 AM) ACES Agency John Buck Marlon Byrd David DeJesus Raul Ibanez Matt Joyce (not a FA) Mike Morse I would definitely be interested in DeJesus. Other names I see is Brett Cecil as a LHP out of the bullpen. How about Daniel Murphy with a possible trade? Possibly buy low on Jesus Montero? Possible trade for Reddick? Those are all the names I think the Sox would be interested in along with the list above minus Ibanez.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Actually helps us in the market IMO. Keep an eye on high-contact scrappy players, I know it sucks but I think mgmt thinks they have the power at this point. Who's on the market that fits that bill?
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:55 PM) personally I think this closes the books on Granderson. Thank God. Yeah I did not want Granderson playing on the South Side
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) Angels will be looking to deal Kendrick for some pitching Santiago and Beckham?
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some. Did you get my DM or no
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Thanks. Doesn't hurt to bother me too. I think fathom got the most info on this deal than anyone since he bugged me to go and get him some. Love getting info
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:31 PM) For the naysayers: would you rather pay this money to Granderson or Abreu? Think of the next several years. Abreu easily. Not even close. And I sent you a DM
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) The sox were in it if it stayed below 80 which they thought it would. This was plan A this offseason. What's the next plan now that this will be finalized?
  19. Guys look what Dan Hayes just retweeted. YES!!!!!
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:59 PM) Definitely would seem that Ramirez is going nowhere if this does go down... No but maybe Beckham?
  21. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 09:54 PM) Mr. Bow Tie himself just announced it during the game. No way he would announce that on air without being wrong, right?
  22. I'm going to be so mad if he goes to the Rangers
  23. QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Oct 17, 2013 -> 08:44 PM) Jon Heyman seconds that Texas is in. Heyman just going off Knobler and Texas beat write..
