QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS 1h #mariners getting lots of calls on their kids. Nick franklin obvs likely to go, maybe others too. Playing to win now. I see this as nothing towards the Sox. Mariners wouldn't be interested in any of our pitchers unless their calling for Sale. With Price on the market, I would assume Walker and Franklin would be key pieces in that deal.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 11:31 AM) Have to have a reasonable idea that an extension is viable or no dice. But hell yeah, we need the lefty bat, and maybe he'll regain some of the power he had a couple years ago, playing in our park. I completely agree. Only if he signs an extension. If not, then Headley's value dramatically goes down.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 10:59 AM) The White Sox have demonstrated interest in Chase Headley of the Padres, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. As Van Schouwen notes, that's a little odd, unless the White Sox think they can sign Headley to an extension -- the White Sox aren't expected to be competitive in 2014, and Headley is a free agent after the season. Give me Headley and Grandal

Chances we see Hahn make moves at the winter meetings this upcoming week?

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 08:55 AM) I'd really like Castro and would easily part with either Santiago or Quintana to get him. He doesn't have to hit as well as he did last year to be really worth it. Have Flowers back him up and you have a really nice catching tandem. Castro would catch a bunch and you let Flowers go against the toughest lefties, where he should have some success. If Houston doesn't think they can compete before Castro hits FA or not until he's about to become a FA, send him over here. The marginal gain at the C position would be astronomical. Having a young lefty bat in the middle of the order for the next several years would make the lineup really quite scary. Imagine having a middle of the lineup is some order including: -Abreu -Avisail -Castro -Viciedo and then, you're looking at guys like Alexei, ADA, and Semien for the top/bottom in the near term. A lot of talent and not very much age among that crew. I don't think I would trade Quintana for Castro, especially based off Hahn's comments that he's one of 4 that's unreadable. I would focus on building a package centered around Santiago for Castro. That line up looks real good if everything comes to form

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 07:58 AM) Hahn will be on the Score at 8:20. Can you summarize what he said on the score please?

Beltran to the Yankees. They really need pitching...

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) I'm really hoping this is just a precursor to a trade about to go down I too thought this. Why is McDade even still here? I'd rather have Wilkins and Black in AAA

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Why would Philadelphia trade Dominic Brown? I follow a couple writers from Philly and there have been talks that they might be willing to trade him.
-
What are your guys thoughts on trying to acquire this guy? A young cost controlled left handed power hitting outfielder. I believe he would be a great addition. I can see a deal revolving around Santiago and De Aza for Brown and 1 or 2 low level players. Thoughts?

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Not sure what they would give up would be benefirial to the Sox. If it were for Campos, it would be a good move, other than that their prospects are pretty meh. Well Gary Sanchez too, but that's just not happening.

This probably spells Patricka out of the pen

Chances of Hahn actually persuing Tanaka?

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 10:06 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,830178.story Mets closing in on Granderson. Good. Stay away. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 06:09 PM) Apparently it is now, the White Sox have interest in Lobaton http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/report...catcher-lobaton Not surprised. Might not be a deal in place yet, but after that tweet, I would assume they still have interest.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) The difference between De Aza and Fowler is negligible. People want moves, but the Sox aren't going to make moves just to make moves. Relax. Completely agree. Patience can be of virtue for Hahn and the White Sox

For Jordan Lyles and Brandon Barnes per Rosenthal
-
I'd rather give salty 3/30.

Send them cash. If true I would think Phegley starts in AAA

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) Did that article really say our payroll is expected to be in the mid-to-high $80M's range? Does Hahn really think we can compete with this roster with an 80 million dollar payroll.

Ryan Hanigan Dealt to TB, Possible 3 Team Deal

Traded to Rays. Possible 3 team trade per Rosenthal -
I don't care about injuries. Hahn needs to sign this kid right now

QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 07:36 PM) I wonder if this means Smyly returns to the rotation? If so Detroit better start adding some bullpen pieces. I could see Krol replacing Smyly
