Teams begging Sox for Chris Sale
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 08:00 AM) Rosenthal: Asked GM about Sale this morning. Said, "Think teams are pushing Chicago to consider." @jonmorosi said #WhiteSox will listen. If this were to happen, it would have to be a HAUL. I'm talking 6-8 players. Keep him Hahn or don't screw this up

Juan Uribe re-signs with Dodgers
QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 10:59 PM) Now that I think about it, if the Sox sign Uribe, could this mean the end of Beckham? Sox get Uribe, move Kepp to 2B until Semien, Johnson or Sanchez is ready, and Uribe becomes the backup IF for 2B, SS and 3B. Makes sense, especially if the Sox do indeed trade for Headley. It would definitely be the end of Keppinger.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 10:28 PM) @BNightengale: The #Whitesox are looking for a third baseman and catcher. Headley and Grandal for Santiago, Beck, Jones, Thompson and Snodgrass. Kill 2 birds with one stone right there.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 09:43 PM) I agree that it needs to be more, but I just can't figure the deal out. Meant to throw Skaggs in there as well. We would get Seager, Bradley, Davidson, Pederson, Lee and Eaton minimum.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) I would rather work out some kind of 3 way deal with the Dodgers to get Joc Pederson in here in any kind of Sale deal. A left handed middle of the lineup bat that can hang in CF? Sign me up. Putting my GM cap on.... Sox Get Pederson-Julio Urias-Matt MaGill-Paco Rodriguez-Matt Davidson Dbacks get- Matt Kemp-Corey Seager Dodgers get-Sale-Owings Something like that, I just want an impact LH bat to start if I'm trading Sale. Sox have a few guys who could end up being impact RH bats (Abreu, Garcia, Viciedo, Davidson((in this trade)), but nothing on the other side of the football. That is absolutely terrible for the Sox...

Chase Headley
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 08:53 PM) A Rock/Bucket appearance would be nice right about now. I agree. And I would not give up Quintana unless Headley and Grandal are part of the deal and I'm still real leery about that.
-
Chase Headley
Makes sense Sox want Headley. I really don't want to part with Quintana unless we can somehow get Tanaka. I would do Santiago, Jones, Beck, Thompson and Snodgrass for Headley and Grandal

QUOTE (striker @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 07:46 PM) Sale for Owings, Davidson and Skaggs Reed & Santiago for Lucroy Beckham for Gardner Ramirez for Daniel Murphy Sign Tanaka 1. Already went over that deal. Have to be A LOT more than that. 2. I think we can get better than Lucroy for that package. 3. That deal would never happen. Yankees prefer to trade Ichiro as Gardner will play LF. 4. No need to trade for a 2b. We have Semein, Johnson and Sanchez coming up. 5. This would be ideal to pair him up with Sale and Quintana.

QUOTE (dayan024 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 08:15 PM) Phil Rogers @philgrogers 20m @jonmorosi just dropped Chris Sale's name as a possible trade option. He'd have tremendous value and @whitesox have 3rd pick in '14 draft. Pipe down Phil Rogers. Only package is with Arizona. And that would take Bradley, Skaggs, Owings, Davidson, Eaton, and Trahan

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 06:10 PM) The White Sox are not signing Tanaka. The White Sox are not signing Choo. This place is starved for a trade rumor. We just need something. Only thing of substance is the Belisario signing. Not even a sniff of a rumor before or after that.

QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 04:36 PM) All the teams that tie in the posting bid will get to fight for his services. So basically any team that wants him will more than likely have to go the max on the posting bid. Well then we can excuse the Sox out of contention for his services. Big market teams will be in the bidding and he'll fr sure want to play with one of them. I can be wrong, but I don't like the Sox odds.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 04:31 PM) Sounds like Tanaka will likely post. Should be interesting development for the winter meetings. So explain me the rules for Tanaka. Maximum bid is 20 million, and whatever teams post that bid, Tanaka gets to choose where to go? I really hope Hahn makes a move for this kid.

If you were Brooks Boyer
QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) I am taking a marketing class this spring that works directly with the White Sox and the top two students get an internship with the Sox so if you guys come up with anything good I might steal the idea! Where you go to school?

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS 1h #mariners getting lots of calls on their kids. Nick franklin obvs likely to go, maybe others too. Playing to win now. I see this as nothing towards the Sox. Mariners wouldn't be interested in any of our pitchers unless their calling for Sale. With Price on the market, I would assume Walker and Franklin would be key pieces in that deal.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 11:31 AM) Have to have a reasonable idea that an extension is viable or no dice. But hell yeah, we need the lefty bat, and maybe he'll regain some of the power he had a couple years ago, playing in our park. I completely agree. Only if he signs an extension. If not, then Headley's value dramatically goes down.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 8, 2013 -> 10:59 AM) The White Sox have demonstrated interest in Chase Headley of the Padres, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. As Van Schouwen notes, that's a little odd, unless the White Sox think they can sign Headley to an extension -- the White Sox aren't expected to be competitive in 2014, and Headley is a free agent after the season. Give me Headley and Grandal

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 7, 2013 -> 08:55 AM) I'd really like Castro and would easily part with either Santiago or Quintana to get him. He doesn't have to hit as well as he did last year to be really worth it. Have Flowers back him up and you have a really nice catching tandem. Castro would catch a bunch and you let Flowers go against the toughest lefties, where he should have some success. If Houston doesn't think they can compete before Castro hits FA or not until he's about to become a FA, send him over here. The marginal gain at the C position would be astronomical. Having a young lefty bat in the middle of the order for the next several years would make the lineup really quite scary. Imagine having a middle of the lineup is some order including: -Abreu -Avisail -Castro -Viciedo and then, you're looking at guys like Alexei, ADA, and Semien for the top/bottom in the near term. A lot of talent and not very much age among that crew. I don't think I would trade Quintana for Castro, especially based off Hahn's comments that he's one of 4 that's unreadable. I would focus on building a package centered around Santiago for Castro. That line up looks real good if everything comes to form

QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) I'm really hoping this is just a precursor to a trade about to go down I too thought this. Why is McDade even still here? I'd rather have Wilkins and Black in AAA

Domenic Brown
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Why would Philadelphia trade Dominic Brown? I follow a couple writers from Philly and there have been talks that they might be willing to trade him.
-
Domenic Brown
What are your guys thoughts on trying to acquire this guy? A young cost controlled left handed power hitting outfielder. I believe he would be a great addition. I can see a deal revolving around Santiago and De Aza for Brown and 1 or 2 low level players. Thoughts?

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) Not sure what they would give up would be benefirial to the Sox. If it were for Campos, it would be a good move, other than that their prospects are pretty meh. Well Gary Sanchez too, but that's just not happening.

White Sox sign Belisario, 1-year, $3 mill
This probably spells Patricka out of the pen
