I've driven through a good portion of Iowa the first weekend of March last year to attend the ISU/UNI men's basketball game in Ceder Falls (ISU won). The ONLY thing remotely close to civilization was Ceder Rapids, and that wasn't that big. I was about to lose my mind!

Great report, Jason! Like I've said before Neal Cotts is a stellar MLB pitcher in the making! I saw him pitch here at Illinois State University in 2001, when I was a freshman and he was a junior (his final season here), and he did nothing short of impressing me! He's a nice guy too. Jim Bullard, you are going to enjoy spending time with Neal!

Another thing the IDIOT known as Bettman did was breaking up the tradition of the NHL...He renamed the Wales and Campbell conferences the Eastern and Western conferences!!! In addition, he broke up the traditional division names (Adams, Patrick, Norris, and Smyth), and he gave them names such as "Central" and "West" and the like! He's trying to make the league more like the NBA WHICH WILL NOT WORK IN THE NHL! Hockey and basketball fans are different breeds!!! Hockey purists are more caring about the TRADITION of the game, and this NBAization of the NHL by Bettman has left those of us "old school" hockey fans beyond PISSED!!! In addition, he's put new rules into the game that limit the amount of physical play that's allowed. I've been following the NHL by myself since the 80s now, and I really miss the classic fights of the league back then, and even in the early 90s! In today's soft NHL, thanks to Bettman, you won't see anything remotely close to a Probert/Domi altercation! GOD DO I MISS WHEN HOCKEY WAS!!! And, of course, I'll throw this out there too...... DETROIT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
