I think it is just to give more flexibility with 1B/3B, Lamb can play 1B, with Vaughn playing LF and hopefully Grandal catching most games, its nice to have a power left handed bat on the bench who can slide in at 1B if need be
It is basically a Eloy for Collins swap in terms of just hitting so let's hope Collins can break out and give us lets say 20 home runs and an above average OBP
I said this last year in one of Cease's starts but he has to use his change up more similar to Gio to make his fastball less hittable. He used it quite a bit in a couple starts last year and pitched a lot better
