  1. Not to rehash that convo...but you're wrong on that man. Kemp just hadn't been placed on waivers yet, as the Astros had 7 days to make a decision. If he was, and was claimed (and he definitely would have been claimed by an AL) club, the Astros would have been only able to trade him to that club, or pull him back off waivers.
  2. Cubs get him for Martin Maldanado. @soxfan2014 another example of a DFA'd player not going immediately on waivers.... ?
  3. Faria legit wouldn't make it past the Tigers. Every single team in the AL would probably claim him. And yah, Aguilar wouldn't make it through either, but that one isn't quite as embarrassing of a take.
  4. HAHAHAHA. The Sox weren't in on him dude. They didn't trade this guy to the Rangers. The Rangers agreed to sign him whenever they did, they just needed additional INTL funds before the deal was official.
  5. Lol. The Rangers probably agreed to terms with this Lora cat years ago. His signing has absolutely no bearing on the White Sox what so ever.
  6. Nightengale just tweeted that this deal would normally be done in August because "each player would have easily cleared waivers". Lol, Bob. How in the world does this guy get paid to cover baseball?
  7. Wouldn't mind taking on Aaron Sanchez if the Jays basically looking to dump him.
  8. I would take Faria in this rotation for the balance of this year for sure. Definitely would have done this for Abreu. But Aguilar is cheaper and under control thru 2022, so probably was not on the table for Abreu.
  9. Wow. Interesting return.
  10. Nate Jones was going to be bought out in 3 months. They got 2 scratch off tickets and saved the rest of Nate's 2019 salary and his buy-out. Had they not traded him, they get nothing AND the international money still goes to waste. I understand the frustration in not spending the international $, but we already knew that. This is not new news. There is no one left to spend it on at this point.
  11. I dont disagree that it is disappointing, but once you know you're not going to spend it, you may as well use it as currency.
  12. Lol, took about 3 minutes for the cheap narrative to come out in full force.
  13. Yah, was also assuming they don't want Eloy in LF yet.
  14. Bad wording on my part. Just meant that I wasn't expecting Jones to be traded today, that being what I found "strange". Not the return.
  15. I was not insinuating that the return was strange, just that trading a pitcher that is out for the year and we were very likely to not pick up his option is strange.
  16. Just sharing useful information people may be interested in.
  17. Hmmm. strange. Neither guy shows on the Rangers top 30 list with MLB.com, fwiw.
  18. I am personally rooting for Welington at 3B.
  19. His tweets sure get shared here alot.
  20. Not a big deal (obviously), but if Jay is traded....who plays OF today? If Moncada can't go today, they trade Jay, and don't have an OF like Cordell or TIlson hanging in Chicago, the Sox are going to have a super goofy lineup today.
  21. The Reds didn't make this massive three-way deal to deal Bauer away 18 hours later.
  22. He won't. They'll find a RF. Leury will be in CF until Robert arrives, perhaps play a bit of 2B thereafter until Madrigal arrives, and then be a valuable super sub / IL fill in.
